Busto. The event started decent as I had a really good table draw, with 15k starting stacks 100 level. After a little while, a couple experienced players were moved to the table but I had good position and the table was very favorable.
I ended the 100 level with 18.7k, chipping up here and there with some small pots. And then down to 18.2k at the end of the 150. During the 200 level I flopped top set with JJ on a J23ss flop and raised the lead. He flats to a 2 turn and check calls. Red 10 turn and he check calls for his stack. Up to 32k end of the 200 level. I then lost a pot with J10s when I flatted a lead on a JJ9hh multi-way flop to have the big blind crai for his short stack with 99, brick brick to 23k. Then 3bet and called a 4bet vs a semi-wild/decent regular with AQ on a marginal call vs his AK, Q flop K turn to 16k.
During the 200ante level I doubled with 67s vs 99 on a 56768 board to 32k and dropped a few to end the level at 26k. The busto hand came during the 300 level when a player opened emp his standard 3x. I've been looking out for a spot to 3 bet him light, yet before I looked at my cards I felt he would think I was up to no good in this situation and tightened my range up a bit. I then looked down at KK and put in a 3 bet, to have him 4bet to about 7k......I shipped into aces, AA door cards nh. Good ole poker.
Meh out, no bueno tourney. Floated around the starting stack of 15k for the first few levels, losing a little until the 200 ante level where I lost a chunk with KK vs a donk played J9s when he rivered trips to 8500. Had about 9500 in the 300 level when the busto hand occurred. Opened for a min raise from the cut off with A2dd, big blind defends and heads up. 963dd flop, i cbet he check raises, and I re with a little behind. He tanks before going with K9o, 9 turn A river.
Out. Started good while I was basically running over my first table for a few levels. The starting 12k stack was up to over 50k by the end of the 200 ante level. Stayed right around there until the 600 level when I flatted a raise with KQdd to see a QQ10ss flop, he cbets - I raise - he insta jams......with Q10 =/. Took me to 28k and ended the level with 25k. Things went down from there where I busted with around 16k open jamming the small blind with 910s at the 1k level. He tanks then calls with A10o, 9 flop to run out 4 clubs. Most likely will be back down there tomorrow.
Out early. Picked up some small pots to begin with and then made a good read/play imo but the opponent came to spew, which in turn led to a little spew by me =/. So I gave him a little too much credit and lost 3k of the 12k there. Ended up getting in 9k pre at the 150 level with QQ vs AKo. Ace river and out.
Busted in the 1k level. Built up to 35k by the end of the 400 level, then everything went downhill until the 1k level when I pushed into a big pair. Poker.
Ya we had a big race during the 300 level, QQ vs AK for 30k. QQ10 flop mbn =).
Unfortunately, I busted during the 1200 level though. I built up good after that without many showdowns. Taking the stack to about 75k to end the 800 level. Then during the 1200 level I raised a limp with KK and took the pot heads up. AKJss flop, he check raises I re and we get it in. He has Q10 sigh, 8 turn 4 river, nh gg.
For # figures, I received $3761 of Max' $ from my roommate JDBizzie for his profit share of his Venetian events. I also see I was off $5 on the last entry, it was supposed to be -$280. This totals stands at $1320.55, which is confirmed by my google spreadsheet.
MaxValue: $1320.55 + $3761 = $5081.55
The final event of the Venetian series is tomorrow, $2510 main event. After this, the Wynn series is up next on the live schedule.
Busto'd by gettym. It's pretty funny how bad players consistently play (getty excluded), but it's all a game. Had a surprisingly very tough lineup at the second table, which unfolded decent until a spew against me and then the busto hand. Poker. Next live series will be the Wynn Classic starting March 3rd.
Out. Started with a 10k stack and was up to 40k by the 400 level, with only one major showdown of AK vs AQ on a A104 flop. Went downhill from there where I 3bet 20bb during the 1200 level with 77, and was tank called by QQ =/. Unsure as of now if I'll play flight b tomorrow. Will keep it posted if so.
Also, I'm going to cut out the majority of reports as Max is only concerned with results and I'm not sure how many others are following. I will still continue this thread as posted in the OP, noting all tourneys played and the amount of action sold.
Well hopefully I make it more interesting by pulling in many W's soon! =)
I'm going down to the Wynn today for the $1070 6max event. I may skip it if the field is too small as not many 6max events come through town. Selling 60% at our deal rate of 1.25 if I play.
At go time only 30 were registered with many notables in field, so I decided it would be best to skip the event. I will be down there for most of the rest of them.
