Still in level 1, and the play is horrendously bad. Some of these people would be losing players at $1/2 NL. I got a good draw.

Level 2 now. We have 35K (30K start) after winning a couple of 3 bet pots.

People are not shy about playing terrible hands OOP trying to hit miracles.

Level 3. 32.5K.

Not happy with the way I played a hand. I checked back the turn with AK-high, gutshot, two overs, and a flush draw vs the table fish and then called a river lead on a blank figuring he has enough bluffs that I beat. He button-clicked with third pair and I paid him. *facepalm*

My play is fine in a vacuum but vs him I should have just bet the turn because he peels flops so light.

yep, betting the turn would probably have gotten it done, but no real harm done. And he may be enough of a calling station it would have cost about the same

2nd break. Went card dead last level and folded every hand, but still have 31K, so the structure is good.

Level 5 (150/300) after break.

Level 6 now. Down to 27K.

3-bet AQo CO vs HJ open, he called and also called my c-bet on 853dd and then donked out pretty big on 9ddd turn. I considered jamming over with the Qd but he hadn't been out of line post-flop so I folded. That dropped me to 24K ish.

Then got to 3-bet 2 more times with AQo and AKo which took it down pre.

Not doing super well but plenty of time to be patient.

3rd break. Pretty eventful level.

Had a bunch of pairs and suited broadways that I opened but got bad flops each time and didn't win any of them, dropping me to roughly 18K.

At 45BB eff I opened CO with AJs and got 3 bet by the button. In a close decision I decided to jam over and got snapped by AKo. Oops. The poker gods smiled on me this time though, and I double back up to 37K. Some much needed rungoot.

250/500 next.

Level 8 (300/600).

35K chugging along. No one from my original table has busted yet.

Ran into QQ twice when I had had pretty good hands to defend pre-flop and flop. Lost both which dropped me to 23K.

Had QQ myself which flopped top set HU but they folded.

Bagged 23K for day 2 so need some help. Have about half of average stack and coming back to 400/800 tomorrow.

Kinda interesting spot I'm not sure about:

Open AKo in CO to 1.8K at 400/800.

BB flats. So far he looks/plays like an aggro Euro tourney player.

Flop K44r

He checks. We bet 1.4K into 4.9K and he check raises to 4.4K. We call.

Turn 3r

He checks. We check back.

With no flush draws I think he's quite likely to be drawing dead here, plus with my hand there are no over cards that could hurt my hand, so I elected to trap.

River A (pot 13.7K)

He checks. We?

A) bet 4K to induce/get a crying call?
B) bet 9K
C) rep polarized and jam 18K

I think most likely he will probably fold to any sizing. If he got here with something like A5 or A3 he probably calls a jam, but he probably leads the river with those. Might be a bit ambitious to expect him to call a jam with just a king.

Level 10, 500/1K.

Have 25K. Won a few pots at the beginning of last level before going card dead. Lost some back in a pot where I defended BB with QJs and then called a small flop bet with 2nd pair and folded to a turn bet.

Really tilting sequence.

I exploitably 3-bet 85s vs a guy who was isolating a fish light and I picked up a sizing tell so I was pretty sure he was weak and would fold.

The limper (limping with a wide range so usually not trapping) then jammed over, and I have to fold.

Next hand I get AA and everyone folds.

18 BB need some help.

Pretty tilted that the 70% vpip guy happens to limp with QQ the 1 time I squeezed light, folded pre when I had AA, and then called with 87o when he was going to hit. Genius.

Yeah, thanks. Sorry I couldn't go deeper.

I had some big hands but none of them got action so I never had more chips than I had in level 1. I'm reasonably satisfied with my play and think maybe a couple of hands I could have chosen a different line but I don't think I made any major blunders and stayed patient.

I'm honestly going to play more $10K events if they are all this soft. This one in particular is probably softer than most but I had multiple spots at each table who were running extremely hot to still be in it.
