Ya sure...let me just say that I realize I'm completely stupid for allowing this to happen. I've been on a lot of forums, and I should know better than to not read the sticky's and warnings and such. I was just dead set on getting some money on a poker site, because I've been having such trouble with it, that I ignored warnings and didn't use good judgement.
I responded to this thread late last night, and I'm completely new to this site, so when I woke up and still couldn't figure out a way to add money to a poker site, I was excited to get a reply. I now realize that I have my email public, and that anyone could possibly contact me. But when I got an email, I just assumed that it was a legitimate response. I was preoccupied with some things, so I didn't bother to look into it, and the unfamiliarity with all this led me askew.
I got an email from "dbubtx33@aol.com" this morning stating "Hi, I saw your post on my thread. You still looking for lock for your green dot Pak? I couldn't pm you, you must be new. I have a lot to sell so let me know."
If I would have read up beforehand, I woulda realized that it wasn't a legit reply, and a simple google search woulda shown me that this email has popped up before in potential scam issues.
The rest of the email goes as follows:
Me: I still am...I'm not sure if what I have is even doable. It's not the green dot moneypak, it's a green dot prepaid visa.
Dbub: Yeah. Anyway you can get a gdmp?
Me: Ya I could. Will probably get one soon.
Dbub: How much Lock you looking for?
Me: Somebody offered me 60...is that a fair amount for a 30 dollar card?
Dbub: Yeah. Lock sells around .35, I could do $70 for you to cover the cost of the fee too. If you got one for like $50 I'd do $150.
Me: Ye, ok, I have a GDMP now, 30 dollars on it, so I just scratch it off and send you the #?
Dbub: Yeah. ill need your lock sn and username. Once I confirm its good ill send Lock. What store you get it from?
Me: OK. I log in as XXXXXXXXXX, and my username is XXXXXX. # is XXXXXXXXXXXXXX. I got it from CVS.
Dbub: Okay. I will check it and send lock in few mins
Me: ?
Me: Come on man...
Dbub: Sent a little ago. Pending
Me: I know you scammed me dude, why are you even emailing me back?
And that's it. Basically realized I'm an idiot and that I lost 35 dollars. Guessing not much can be done about it right?
At least I'm a bit more read up on things now, hopefully I can find someone to do a smooth transaction with in the future.
