Airfare isn't cheap. Nor are the rooms. This can pretty much be said about every world cup. The only difference is that in a place like Germany, you can stay 90 minutes outside of the city where the game is being played and be in a cute village with interesting beer and happy people. In South Africa, you better know where you are and the people can be less than cute.

Still, it's the world cup, it's England US, and the tickets aren't THAT bad - they are less than tickets to a good regular season football game.

No. You can get sick seats for under 500 easily. I'm thinking that you're trying to get 900+ for each of these? Correct me if I'm wrong though...

And for anyone who's looking, flight is going to be just over $2k, and lots of hotels are already booked solid throughout the world cup.

He referenced stubhub and while they have no tickets available for USA/England the cat 1 tickets for the other two matches are selling at 400usd. OP is being reasonable, it's the hotels in South Africa and the airline companies that are simply gouging everyone.

I'm pretty much selling them for a little less than market. If I can't sell here, i'll put them up on Ebay. I would rather pass the seller fees onto a buyer here.

These tickets aren't for a random person who hadn't though about going to the world cup and might just stumble upon a game. The trip obviously involves some planning and money.

That being said, the people spending $900 a ticket on Ebay have to pay for hotels and airfare as well.
