What kind of intensive purposes could I use this laser for?

Burning things... I've gone bug hunts with it and taken out some spiders I didnt like.

Practically speaking, it's a great safety device for signally in the outdoors... if you were lost in the wilderness, you would love to have one. you can also start a fire with one if you really needed to and you had the right makings for a fire.

lol wtf @ killing bugs and starting fire, thats some serious ****. Cant it burn holes or leave burn traces on walls or floor? What if i accidently aim it at a monitor or TV?

no issues if it's far enough away... otherwise yeah, it will burn most whatever you use it against given enough time and if the surface is reflective or not.(also surface color has a lot to do with it)

the beam has good visibility for over 6800 meters... but the main power is close to the focusing lense, within a few inches/couple feet depending on what you are pointing it at
