Wanted: long term room for G/F and me in Las Vegas

Hi! My name is Brett Still. My girlfriend and I are currently seeking a room for rent in Las Vegas for the long term (12 months or more, but can negotiate for something in the six month range if needed). My price range, to include utilities, is $400-$600 per month (for the two of us, we are a package deal, sorry).
We both have working vehicles.
She plays 8/16 and 15/30 limit and will also be dealing part time (poker).
I play poker (mainly tournaments and some 1-2, 2-5 NLHE) but my main source(s) of income are a civilian contracting job at Creech AFB in Indian Springs, just north of LV come July-August time frame (still in California, moving to LV in 3-4 weeks, and transitioning from military to civilian life). I will also have monthly income from the Air Force reserves and that also helps my income from school (GI Bill pays a monthly stipend but it increases if in the reserves in critically manned career fields). I make more than enough to pay bills.
We want something closer to the strip but not in the ghetto and more important to find people we trust and who are a bit more private and will leave us alone, because besides working or poker, we will just be sleeping, eating and cooking, or not at the house.
Willing to sign a private sub-lease with the actual person renting out the room to us, but not willing to do any crazy credit checks, sorry.
My credit is not good but I have never missed any rent payments and have no foreclosures, just debt from divorce that I am currently making good progress on and paying off. I have proof of rent payments from my last year in California and can get a recommendation from the people I rented from if needed in lieu of a credit check.
I just finished ten years in the Air Force and we are currently looking to move back to Las Vegas and enjoy a few years before I really get into oilfield welding and before we get heavily involved together in real estate and the shipping industry.
