I bought the book some years ago and didn't get a chance to study it, as I happened to give up poker altogether soon after I bought it. I am looking for $650.

Hi thread.

I am the author, have been in communication with xyz3 about this, and he asked me to post here. Volume 1 retails for $1000. It (and the full 2-volume book) comes with a two-device-limit secured e-book copy and a physical paper copy. xyz3 has these and paid full price for them. He owns them and imo has every right to sell them/it.

This is not pirating, torrenting, or multi-accounting (I'm looking at you Russia. Trump might like you. I don't).

xyz3 owns one copy and he wants to sell one copy. This is 100% legit.

If he gets a buyer here, he's going to email me (and include the buyer) so I can disable his e-book credentials and establish e-book credentials for the buyer. It is xyz3's responsibility to get his paper copy to the buyer if that is part of their deal.

If others with APT see this and plan to make a similar secondary market sale, please message me on the website that I can't post here or put in my location but can put in my profile. I will get that message very quickly. If you pm me here it could be weeks.

Tom

He bought two copies for $1000, is now able to sell one of them for $650, and would be able to sell the other one in the future for ( presumably ) the same price? Sorry if I'm missing something.

He has a a e-book pdf that he can access on two devices. He'd lose that entire access.

He has a paper copy.

Yeah, I suppose there's scammer potential there.

Partly what's going on here is I know OP's story and believe it so I'm 100% on board with him selling like this. He hasn't used the books much at all and just wants some money back. Otoh I don't give refunds at all, plus he's had it for several years so I really don't see how I can give a refund. So I told him I'd help with secondary sale if I could.

Regardless I sell a product with paper and e-copies and they own both. I guess someone could sell each individually and I wouldn't know. I can monitor/manage their e-access but not where their paper copy is. If I somehow found out about fishiness I'd respond appropriately if there was a good response.

Oh well. The book is expensive and loaded with detailed charts. Buyers deserved a paper copy. And nearly all value the exclusivity too much to mess around. If there's a small loss here and there because someone double-sells for just above half price...not happy about it, but meh.

Less happy with the Russians.

Actually, if a seller can get $650 for just e-access and $650 (or w/e) for just paper access, good for him. Having access both ways is valuable. The paper book is hefty and e-access likely preferred on trips and such, but paper copy easier to dig into charts etc. If someone can sell each way for more than half the value of the package, nicely done.

I will send the paper copy to the buyer. So, if by two copies you mean one paper copy and one e-copy, I am selling both.

Not trying to cause any trouble but why does this book cost $1000 brand new? I have purchased other poker books brand new and never spent more than $50-$60. Is the content that good? I only ask because I don't play PLO but the game does intrigue me. Thanks.

So 650 is the price for a paper copy + e-copy, right?

All I can say is that, as the title suggests, it is more advanced than most other poker books. Beyond that, someone with more experience than myself, both with PLO and the book, would have to answer.
