For TRADE: books, guitar... looking for various For TRADE: books, guitar... looking for various

Hello:Like the headline says, this is for trade, not sale. I'm not really interested in exchanging money. If this doesn't go well I might do that at a later time, but for now, eh.

Shipping: I'm in [deleted]

Trust/reliability stuff: I have an interest in staying in good standing with 2+2, have done book covers here for Mason and will probably do more. No problem giving you my phone # and so on either, but I'm a little paranoid so if I don't have a good reason to trust you you might have to ship 1st, especially if we're talking more than a couple books. Nothing personal, that's just how I roll.

What I'm looking to trade away:

Poker books.

Most of these are either extras I got in ebay lots or for presents, others are ones I bought and read once. Nice spines and no creases or anything (unless otherwise noted). If we're trading book-for-book, in many cases (but not all) I'll probably give you better than 1-for-1.

8/10

Pot Limit Omaha Poker (J. Hwang)
New, flawless.

Poker DVDs

Ed Millers LHE set
All 4 DVDs there, and no they're not copies (and no i won't burn you copies)

Guitar

Midnight wine Fender Stratocaster, virtually perfect. Mint MIM 2008 neck, body is actually a '99 that was unused sitting in a closet and wasn't touched (and yes it's a MIM Strat body, not another brand). The body is identical to a 2008 in every way (I have one to compare), the only way you can tell is the Fender date stamp on the inside.

New upgraded pickups YJM neck, HS-3 bridge, stock middle. New Schaller locking tuners. Has a different bridge and switch on it than stock, works the same. Fully copper shielded, reverse of pickguard and all. If anyone has interest I'll get you a ****load of detailed pictures. It has literally 10 hours of playing time on it and polishes to new. New gig bag also

What I want:

Books

Harrington on Hold'em I
Harrington on Cash I, II
HEFAP

(that's what I get for lending **** out to deadbeats)

+ anything really new, HOC was the last I bought. Rizen/Pearljammer, PTF2, things like that.

DVDs

Krantz's, others case-by-case

Textbooks

Advanced math and econ textbooks books, or famous works. I'd like to have some more around for reference. Not looking for $75 jobs you used last semester, I need them cheap. Obviously if you can find them on Amazon for $6, you're not getting much in return, but we'll see what you have

Games for the PC

Man I have this awesome ass PC, and the only games I've own are Battlefront 2 and Half-Life 2 from like 4 years ago. I'd like a couple more big-name ones within the last couple of years. And yeah I'll need the serial and the originals

Musical equipment

If I'm trading my guitar obv I want something more substantial. Epi Les Pauls and Telecasters (esp deluxes/customs) are on my want list. Will consider other guitars and basses. Maybe a halfway decent keyboard I can use for midi stuff too. Expect a lot of no's.

What else you got?

I know this invites a lot of ridiculous offers, but I am willing to consider all kinds of stuff if you have things of reasonably comparable value. BUT ONLY IN THE THREAD!

And use common sense LDO. Your old VHS tape of Labyrinth isn't going to get anything but lolz

Also - regarding my ratings of my books' conditions... anything 8 out of 10 and up would pass for what's on the shelf at Borders. The worst of them are still pretty good, I left the more raggedy ones off the list.

I don't have anything and I'm not looking for a guitar right now, but I just wanted to say nice strat and I'm jealous. If anyone's looking for a good guitar and has stuff they wanna trade, that is def a great bang for the buck for whatever op thinks is fair (he sounds like a reasonable person). I'd rather trade with a good 2+2er any day versus some random person on harmony central or craigslist.

i have a 2000 american strat that's mildly beat up (superficially beat up, i'm one of those that thinks strats look much better when they're worn in hard), but plays like a ****ing dream. not necessarily looking to sell it, and since it wasn't listed as something you're looking for i doubt that's a problem, but if you're compelled to look into it / make an offer i'd check it out.

either way, american strat / tele = sick. i really want a jazzmaster..

Yeah I actually have two strats. They're both MIM not Americans, but they're souped up with nice locking tuners and new pickups. I'll see about getting some pictures up

I'm using this cheap 1.x MP camera so this is the best I can do

The YJM in the neck and HS-3 in the bridge are low-output, which is kind of cool because you hear more of the guitar and less of the pickup. My other strat has hot rails in it, and their output is so high you don't really feel the wood. The middle pickup is some rando white single coil, but I never use the middle anyway.

The brushed chrome locking tuners which are freaking awesome, if you never used them. No wrapping strings around the pegs anymore, just put the string through, twist the knob tight, and cut. That's it. And brushed chrome FTW

The other one behind is is a black one, same thing with different pickups. Mrs. Gonso bought me that one as a present, which pretty much means I have to keep it forever.

American strats are nice, but yeah I've kinda had my fill of strats. The best guitar I ever had was a 74 Tele Deluxe fully vintage, natural finish and beat to absolute hell. I was offered $3,600 on it a few years back and accepted, money was ok but I kind of regret it.

Also I feel obligated to point out this VERY small scuff, it's freaking tiny and it's on the backside down near the strap button... I actually hit it with my camera, taking pictures.... **** there really is no God

Get a good look, because it you'd probably never see it otherwise

Otherwise it's basically pristine. You can tell I haven't played it much... basically when I put it all together and set it up I had... another Strat. Ok, well, that was fun. Not sure what else I was supposed to expect, but yeah anyway it has no wear.

No other way to do it imo, the feel is so much better than rosewood. At least as far as Fender-types go.

Yeah, my strat is rosewood - basically couldn't resist it because I got a good deal on it (at least for this country), but would have preferred it with maple fingerboard.

Anyway, sorry for the hi-jack. Strats are awesome; would recommend anyone who's interested to try and do business with OP here.

If you're going to go rosewood that's the way to do it. All that guitar there needs is a black pickguard instead of white imo, leave the white pickups in place.

That reminds me, I do have an extra (white) pickguard with a S-S-H setup, if anyone wanted to have a humbucker in the bridge like the one above it's an easy change. I had it in the config myself with a pickup that I wound up hating (evolution).

Seriously people WTF, no one plays guitars anymore? I bet you're all off playing Guitar Hero.

If I didn't keep getting f'ed over at 100nl every time I move(d) up I would have already bought your red strat. =)
