I don't know anything about this topic, but it's been reported to me. Anyone care to share how this doesn't violate this rule:
  • Illegal items. This includes (but is not limited to) illegal copies of books, software, etc and knockoff/replica items that infringe on trademarks.
Or the 2+2-wide rule not allowing threads about torrents?

I didn't know 2+2 was anti-torrent. I mean it's a gray area, just like how you can argue that playing poker online is a gray area. In the US you can have one backup copy of stuff you already own I think.

Anyways you can delete this if it's a gray area.

And to the guy who posted the irc thing. Yeah I tried that but I 'failed' the quiz they game me after waiting 4 hours in the queue because 'my answers were too vague'. Maybe I just run bad with getting the right interviewer. I can do it again today but I'd just rather pay $5 and not waste my time.

Fairly sure 2+2 policy is that torrent discussion isn't allowed. I'm finding out; in the meantime I'm going to lock this thread.

OK, I've gotten the word from on high that torrent discussions are definitely not allowed on 2+2. I've added this to the rules sticky, and now that I've done that, future threads about this could result in an infraction and/or ban as deemed appropriate.
