For Sale is an Inspiron E1705 Laptop from Dell, included with it is A/C power charger, additional 9 cell battery, and an HP carrying case if requested

I am selling a great Laptop that has served me very well, the only problem is that I'm in college now, and I need a smaller laptop to haul around every day, there is nothing wrong with this laptop, I love having the large 17" screen, but it's not practical to carry combined with textbooks . The ram on this machine is exceptional(2GB), as well as the graphics card. The graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS, it was an extra $350 when I customized this laptop directly from Dell. This device plays movies perfectly, it plays songs perfectly, everything is in fine working order on this laptop!

This laptop is widescreen, and has a resolution of up to 1900x1200 pixels.

Now to the external. The E1705 has two options for the screen, a 1440x900 WXGA+ matte screen or a 1920x1200 WUXGA glossy screen. I went with the 1920x1200 WUXGA glossy "TrueLife" screen. This laptop does have slight signs of wear above each speaker on the front, next to the volume and playing controls, from my wrists rubbing against it, that I just started noticing. There are also minor paint chips on the very bottom, the part the computer sits on, that are just from my desk. Before I ship this is item I will try to clean the keyboard and the fans inside, to ensure everything is fine. On the top(when closed), there are a few light scratches, that are hardly noticable, as well as a few minor scuffs on the corners, from bumping into other things. Overall external condition - 7.5/10 . On the bottom, there are two rubber pieces missing, the back ones, that prevent the laptop from sliding, but the two in the front work fine by themselves. The latching system works flawlessly. The service tag and windows tag are both perfectly in tact on the bottom, if you ever happen to need them.

This setup overall cost $2375 from Dell when I purchased it.

Inputs and ports

The E1705 comes with the following ports and buttons:

Ports:

* 6 USB 2.0 ports
* IEEE 1394 (FireWire)
* DVI out
* VGA out
* S-Video Out
* RJ-45 (Ethernet)
* RJ-11 (Modem)
* Audio out for headphone/speakers
* Microphone

Slots:

* 5-in-1 Multi Card Reader
* ExpressCard slot (No legacy support for PCMCIA Cardbus!)
* Laptop security lock slot

Buttons:

* Power
* MediaDirect
* Volume and media (Up, down, mute, forward, backward, play/pause, stop)

Wireless

The Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card works well. I get a strong, consistent signal to my network at home, and I can pick up 4 of my neighbor's networks as well. Definitely a plus if my ISP or wireless router decides to choke one of these days.

Graphics card

Now we get to the good stuff. The E1705 has three available graphic options: Integrated Intel GMA 950, Radeon X1400, or the Geforce 7900GS. Mine has the 7900GS, and this card is very good. I don't have exact numbers handy but Doom 3 at 1600x1200 High Quality with 2xAA and 8xAF is very smooth and looks fantastic. The graphics card also plays World of Warcraft which is known to be a computer dependent game, I constantly got above 60 frames per second in even the busiest cities. It's quite amazing to get this sort of performance from a laptop, when many desktops from a year or two ago would struggle with the game at the same settings.
Battery

I upgraded the original battery to get extra long battery life, compared to the normal one. The normal one is a 6 cell battery, I have the 9 cell which lasts considerably longer. I also have an additional backup 9 cell battery that has hardly been used at all.

AC Adapater

I have just purchased a brand new A/C adapter, because I lost my old one. This one is OEM and has been used for about 1 week now.

Here are the specs from this laptop, straight from DXDIAG:
