Yeah I still dig that one, it has a pretty cool e-book feel, plus I ended up just staring at the letters for like 5 minutes when I first saw it. Simple but still eye-catching- it simply looks like an ebook and matches the tone of the contents well.

The workbook is pretty cool too, it has a feel for the length of the book (100ish pages) and some seriously sick shopping skills. Doesn't really match the tone of the sample pages I saw, but it's a pretty sweet image and definitely matches how a lot of 2p2ers are going to view the book.

Cards from the clouds is a simple idea with sick execution, even if it's a stock image. Also, I could pretty much jack off to the font choice.

Creepy face in shadows is a bit too busy but it looks super cool.

There are some really talented people posting ITT. You guys should write your own books... they'd probably sell well based on the cover art alone.

It was a hard choice. Majority of the book owners love the workbook so we went with that.

We also like the picture from the sky so we ninja created a consolation 2nd best cover. 'thirteen' will get $250 for his work.

As an owner of the Tri/CTS book, I really appreciate everyone's effort and creativity. I will treasure the printed version as much for its professional appearance as its content.

I understand giving back to the community even for 500$, and I really think it's a great idea. It will help more to your book as well. But man up, and pay at least 1000.
It would seem that professional designers have quite a bit to worry about then, when you can obviously get good designs on the internets from amateurs for far less than professionals charge, and lots and lots of people willing to do the work for fun.

Huh? The contest was for $500, not $1k. I don't see why you think that's so unjust.

This. There are a lot of people on this site that are capable of doing professional grade work with all of the computer tools available now. Likewise a lot of professionals who do book covers and DVD covers (etc.) are just going through the motions.
