Model is KDF-E50A10. Looking at Sony's website it's difficult to tell if they make a similar model anymore (they seem to only sell LCD screens now?) but similar models from other manufacturers retail for around $1600 on Best Buy's web site.

I bought this in late 2005 for ~$2000 and purchased a five-year warranty with it for ~$400, which is good until late 2010. This warranty provides the first bulb replacement free (which otherwise costs ~$200?) and I haven't had to replace the bulb yet.

I live near Palo Alto; I don't own a truck or anything, so if you buy this you need to have or arrange transportation yourself. I accept payment on Stars, FTP, or with cash.

I'm selling it because I recently replaced it with a 58" plasma. Here's a picture:

CNet review which should answer most questions.

These are going for a bit more ($200) on Craigslist than I'm charging but I'm happy to help out a 2+2er.

These are very nice TV's imo, I have the 42" and haven't had any problems with it(bought in late 05 as well). I think the HD picture is just as good as most of the newer LCD's.

Also, forgot to mention in the OP - this TV has a somewhat sentimental value to me, as I grinded out the money to pay for it at $25 NL and low-stakes donkaments about 8 months after I first started playing poker. This was the first 'baller' purchase I ever made and helps commemorate my poker achievements. Hopefully it can serve as inspiration for you as well!

Wow, that price seems very good - I'm sure you'll get to sell it soon. I'd buy it myself, but I don't live near San Fransisco. Actually Norway, which is kind of far.

is the warranty thru best buy?

Still available, warranty is through Philips or something like that (I bought the TV online).

How has this not been sold yet? Remember people, not only are you getting a TV, you also GET TO MEET GOOFYBALLER. That's gotta be worth something.

(I'm not buying it cuz I live in Texas and already have a ballerer TV. And I've already met goofy.)

Wow, if we could find some way to ship it I would deeply consider buying it. I live in Lexington, KY so Palo Alto is a little bit out of my range to pick-up.

Too bad I live in MN.

I actually live in CA so considering this, does the purchase include a free hour of GB's NL coaching?
03-29-2008 , 11:59 PM
I've been playing ****ty lately so that probably wouldn't be worth a lot. However, I can coach you expertly at CoD4!

Sentimental value huh???
We should buy it from you, have someone near you pick it up and total beat the **** out of it with a sledge right in front of your face.
That would make my year.

is the warranty transferable to another person?
04-21-2008 , 10:28 PM
is it still available goofy? I live in LA.
04-22-2008 , 02:42 AM
Hrm, I should probably look into whether the warranty is transferrable. Will be back with answers when I wake up early enough to handle life business before work (which is rare).

Still available.
