I'm pretty sure neither of these consoles actually cost this much.

i wrote a ton and deleted it, but to summarise, i don't think there should be stuff sold on here that was bought purely to resell and make a profit. i know motive would be hard to interpret in some cases, but a decent rule would be 'nothing can be sold above RRP'.

fwiw i have zero problems with that stuff being on ebay, but i see this place (perhaps incorrectly) as a small, friendly community where that kind of profiteering shouldn't really sit. conversely i guess you could argue you're just providing a service to people who want it, but it seems out of place to me, and i don't really care for the silent auction format.

but yeah, i'm not the mod of this forum and i'm guessing it is allowed, so no reason thestuntman should have to delete at all.

Ah cool I was afraid I was going to have to go into yet another argument about supply and demand economics but if it's purely from a community point of view then I guess I can see where you are coming from.

However I'd still disagree and say that when I ordered three consoles early in the year I had the foresight to see that there would likely be a shortage and that I would be able to turn them for a profit, and perhaps freeroll a ps4 for myself with that profit. I will be putting them up for sale on Ebay, here and a couple of other places and tbh if I put them up for sale here I'd probably sell them for less than elsewhere because of the ease in which transactions are done via, for example, poker site moneys, instead of paypal etc. so buyer and seller would get a better deal, and I guess you can say that's down to the community we have.

If people don't like it then I won't put them up on here it's really no difference to me as they will 100% sell very quickly wherever I list them.

Yeah my thoughts were similar to Yetis. In a community with other like people, I dont really like anyone that is trying to flip something for purely profit. It is like that on alot of other forums too and people definitely call you out on it. Ebay is fine but after 12% or whatever it is they take now it may be tough but who really knows.

yes. most other forums like this with classifieds sections would generally tend to have the following rules :

1) nothing can be sold above RRP
2) you must state a price, if offered that price you must accept. offers etc and negotiation must take place in the thread.
3) you cannot advertise elsewhere whilst simultaneously advertising on the forum

anyway, no matter how i feel, this is still a pretty unforgivable awful derail, sorry about that stuntman.

Is there a minimum bid required for you to sell i.e reserve price like ebay does? To be fair the offers should be posted in the thread, not sent in PM imo.

For the most part I agree, but on another pool forum I have seen it work before...they list an exact time the bids are required by (including the time zone) and anything listed afteward does not count. I have a feeling the OP will be looking for more than the minimum anyway just to make a profit to which people can just pre order still or wait a bit so it's probably a moot point.

I don't disagree on that. Also I would recommend escrow on the purchase receipt proof to be sent to mod before sending payment just to cover the buyer. OP has been a member since 09 with 2k posts so he isn't a newbie...but just for safety reasons OP should have no issue sending the purchase receipt to a reputable mod before the winning buyer sends the payment to him. If he does obvious red flag.

Yeah in no way am I bashing OP and saying he isnt credible. It just shouldnt be allowed and on the majority of forums where you sell stuff it isnt regardless how reputable you are.

Sorry guys, I took it off the market due to the backlash I got. Thanks for the interest though. I'd rather avoid ebay due to their fees and such, and avoid craigslist due to inherent dangers, but looks like I'll have to suck it up and choose those two options.

This is true but I think it is also how you went about it trying to auction it off for as much profit as you could get also didnt help. If you woulda come on here asking for $600 each I highly doubt you would have gotten all the backlash. Just my opinion though. May be interested in the Xbox1 lol

Well ok, I was looking for 575 + shipping OBO for the PS4 and 700 + shipping OBO for the XBOX1. This is for the systems only, NO games are included. Systems are the North American version ie. NTSC.
