most important and confusing sentance in this explanation so what actually happened to the computer?

OP should find a job ASAP and pay the debt NOW.

This is VERY, VERY weird.
I hope all turns out well.

This makes me sick. The fact that this guy actually had the gile to try and sell the same product he already scammed one guy for (and admitted in this thread that it was broke), is so ****ing disgusting.

Makes me feel ashamed for UK students, OP making a bad name for us.

as others were saying im not gonna build up an entire 2p2 profile to scam somebody for a few hundred $s

Can we let this be a lesson as to why we should not allow someone to make a "good faith" gesture unless the payments are a reasonable amount of the debt. 3 or 4 years to pay of a 300 or 400 dollar debt is not a good "faith gesture". It is a cheap way to avoid conflict. After he scammed someone for hundreds of dollars, we as a community should not have allowed him to pay ten dollars a month for everyone to be off his case.

i mean ur 100% right and u have good intentions but what do u want "we as a community" to do....? log into his account and transfer more money? force him to show up to a 2p2 court and make $70/month payments? take his car and house? meh....

i mean i think we as a community should try to escrow more with newer members for **** like this perhaps? or with members that dont have a history to protect both parties would be more achievable than telling someone what they should have had to pay after he scammed someone. just my 2 cents, but im with ya 100%

ya i was up on my high horse. it's a difficult situation to handle of course, and there is always risk involved. It just pisses me off that everyone was ready to set up a lynch mob and then all he has to do is send 10 bucks and everyone decides that he's not a scammer and trying to make good. let's just not be so gullible. you're right though, there isn't a whole lot the community can do. It will be up to the passionate few individuals that are willing to put a lot of time and effort in who actually do anything to stop the scammers.

it's ignorant to not accept the 10 dollars when it's basically 10 dollars or nothing

So I'd basically like to make the point that it is not ignorant to not accept 10 dollars when it's 10 dollars or nothing. And actually it is probably better off to not accept a token payment and to make it clear that a scammer cannot rectify the situation by making some tiny token payment.

We need a no negotiation with scammers policy but all in all, that's all i've got and it's not gonna help a whole hell of a lot. Just gotta be cautious and remember the golden rule. When it seems to good to be true, it always is.

hi. i lost the details of the person who needs to get paid, and sorta forgot about this for a while. i had no intention of scamming anybody when i made this thread, or the other thread trying to sell this laptop. if i had plans to scam somebody, i wouldn't waste a 2006 account for a 300$ scam. furthermore if i had plans to scam i wouldn't bother making any repayments at all.

the reasons dont really matter in the end...but basically i wasn't in the position to post the laptop. when i remade a thread about sellin that laptop i was planning to scam anybody lol. but anyway....

can the buyer send me his pokerstars/ full tilt usernames and tell me what months ive paid for so far . ill check my history later to confirm.

im starting to take grinding alot more seriously again...and when im beating the games again ...ill send the $ back in one go. promise.
