*RESOLVED*Senjitsu aka Jason Covener scams everyone in WSOP house for $10k+ - General Marketplace -- Two Plus Two Poker Forums

I was scammed by Senjitsu for $1,500 and so were at least 9 or 10 others. Here's my story.

First wrote him in February interested in a wsop house. Found the house here http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/10...-vegas-703528/.

Had this conversation with him over pm.

hey man, just add you on fb and ill have the other roommates do the same... as of right now we have 4 ppl in for sure for the wsop... me a 33yo lo8 player, jamie, a 23 yo mtt player (xaston online), jeff a 25 yo hu nlhe cash player (up to nl600) and matt a 24yo mtt player coming up from australia.

as far as cost/financial stuff:

For ppl just renting for the wsop, its going to be $1500 for the whole thing (which is like may 28th to jul 15)... since i anticipate that thats going to be the most in demand time im not going to break it up so if you were in for the wsop you would have to pay for the whole 1.5 months (though if you werent going to be there id be fine with you renting the room to someone else). For just the WSOP theres not going to be any deposit, but id need the full 1.5 months rent in advance to lock it up. I can take stars or possibly tilt for that.

So I added him on AIM and on Facebook. He was very friendly and professional. I ended up sending $1,500 to him on a stars account that I'm not yet releasing the name of. He claims it was a friend's account.

I was contacted by one of the guys a few days ago and he told me that everyone was being evicted this Monday, June 7th. He also said the utilities had been turned off for weeks and that there were too many people and not enough rooms in the house even though everyone had pre-paid for rent. The last thing he said that really shocked me was that Jason had just been arrested, possibly for identity fraud. I found these links. It looks as though he has quite a history of scamming people, stealing identities, etc...

It sounds like there are 9-10 people in the house right now.
So far I have talked to 3 of the people living in the poker house and have forwarded the mods contact info if they need to verify. I'm sure they will come in this thread to verify the story as well.

Sounds like it. I just pm'd the guy. Jason screwed over a bunch of low limit grinders which really pisses me off. I could care less about $1,500 but it's pretty terrible to scam someone for like 10% of their bankroll.

yeh it sucks man i feel bad and hope it works out, but did he have references? like people that lived with him currently or whatever post and give a review of the house/him? or what?

He didn't have references but I did a quick search of him on 2+2 and couldn't find any dirt. Plus he has 3k+ posts and does a lot of business in marketplace from the looks of it. He also linked me to the other roommates on facebook and they seemed like nice guys that play poker professionally. I guess I was a bit naive. This was going to be my first WSOP house.

Everyone thats been scammed by this guy should contact the Las Vegas Police Fraud Dept. 702-828-3285.

I was one of the original roommates. The lease was drawn up for 3 others and myself. We had an extra room who we leased out to Jason. The roommates who went through the process saw the same thing of many posts/years of market place etc. 2 roommates left and Jason took over the lease in February. We received an eviction notice in March and the 2nd in April. At this point I was irate because I was lead to believe rent had all been handled which wasn't the case. I moved out in April 8-12 can't remember. At that point I contacted the landlord who claimed the eviction was going to happen that week.

That was that or so I thought. In the house I live in now we were showing a room to someone who had just checked out the house of scam (roughly 1-2 weeks later). I figured at that point Jason had somehow come up with the money. One of the roommates who experienced all the eviction bs had decided to remain in the house even after another roommate and I moved out. I had no idea the house was still being occupied by Jason and others until I received a call from someone who had moved in recently. I was scammed for 1k.

Pretty sick situation. One of those guys that u would never suspect unless u knew him irl i guess. Seemed reputable and always helpful around the forums. GL finding a resolution for all those affected.

I did my best to out him. I told everyone I dealt with to stay away. I talked to mods and people who had bad experiences with him. I have never dealt with him personally, so I never had any proof.

Please don't confuse him with me. My name is also Jason (aka Jake), and I rent out rooms in poker houses. If anyone who was scammed needs a place, I had a couple people cancel their booked rooms. I have empty rooms for you, and I will reduce the rate for you a bit.

Yeah man, jusat from being around 2+2 for as long as I have and not personally knowing the guy I always thought he was well known and respected and woulda shipped $1500 for a WSOP house without a second thought. Sorry OP ur not an idiot coulda happened to anyone in this particular case.
