Lots of LOL's here, I'm glad you are enjoying them.

The points do not have a direct cash value from FTP. As far as I know their value only comes from the goods they can purchase. The value of the TV is independent of any notional points amount assigned to it by FTP.

Of course it could still be overpriced, I don't know what the market value is since it has not cleared yet.

Please try to actually buy this TV for less than I have listed it. The lowest equivalent price in your link is $50 more than I am asking. The only reference I have for pricing is the lowest cost new ($1850?) or completed sales on Ebay ($1825, $1865). If I have missed a change in the market price and you want to make an offer refelcting that please let me know.

You can find it listed for less online but you will notice that sites selling below established price leaders are only offering a bait and switch. The TV is only 'in-stock' as a package of 300$ in worthless extras (cables, cleaning fluid). Your original order will always be canceled and you will have to call them.

If it will not sell at this price I will lower it but it doesn't require much sense to realize no one is giving value away.

That's the point, did you read what I wrote at all?

If you are actually confused (maybe I'm getting leveled?) by this apparent discrepancy I can explain it to you via PM.

Please do not feel upset that things are going for more than their face value, I assure you they never are.

But shipping is $199.99. If you live in the Bay Area and you were going to order this anyways, this saves you money and time.

yeah man I wasn't trying to **** in your wheaties or anything. I was just wondering what the difference was. I can buy the TV for $1452.50 shipped to me for poker money (which is obv worth less than REAL money). Or buy it, have to pick it up, its new but the box has been opened. And it costs $300 more.

Just confused me is all

You can? Arbitrage for $400 on Ebay each.

Some concepts seem to be tripping a few members up. If you do not understand my posts yet feel a need to comment please PM me, this way the thread can die peacefully and I can give the TV away.

FTP points don't have a notional value assigned by FTP.
They have an actual value derived from the free market here on 2+2.
That value has stabilized near $3.5 per 1k points, which is what they usually get sold for.*
You won't be able to sell stuff from the FTP store for more than the $3.5/1k that someone could pay to have it ordered for them.

*And we don't transfer the points, we order the item and have it shipped direct to whoever bought the points from us.

The thing is, it's not outrageous to charge a premium for such a high value item. Scotty_12 wanted like 10k for a custom avatar. Few posters are even ever offering 415k+ FTP pts anyways.

I'm not saying he shouldn't lower is price, because as evidenced by the extensive discussion here it's not a very big discount for being an open box item.

I guarantee I can find 3 sites that offer free shipping besides coming from the FTP store

Wrong, they do. Also, I only stated that the TV's value was independent of its point value as it's availability is not exclusive to FTP.

Has a sale of 415k points ever once closed here? I can't find it.

This is the whole point. Again people are restating the basic point yet in a way that suggests they somehow can't understand it.

Free Shipping no shipping what does it matter? It is only the final price that matters in a comparison.

I have sold 300k points twice. Your price is really high, at least for the Marketplace based on the value we as a group have given to each point. It is just not going to sell; if you are adamant, eBay is your best option.

Points have nothing to do with the value, it seems clear no one has an example of a 415k block of points being sold (as a TV transfer).

Like everything else I was abundantly clear I would reduce the price until it sold.

This is my first internet argument and I now realize how pointless they are. No one has shown any ability to read what I wrote and make sensible comments, only a rush to point out what they see as a mismatch in my asking price and what the price should be.

Please:

If you don't like the price either make a better offer or don't post, unless you have a question pertinent to the terms of the sale. It's even ok if you're interested and want to say something like, "hey this items costs X here, will you accept Y for it?"

I can understand the desire to point out an overpriced item here and there (such as when an item can be purchasesd new for less than the asking price), and I've done it myself. But I'm starting to see some of the same people showing up in thread after thread doing this over and over. STOP.

We don't need pricing mods. If the price is that unreasonable, then it probably won't sell, and the thread will eventually die after the OP runs out of bumps, or decides to move on. If it's something grossly misrepresented or ridiculous we'll take care of it.

Hey op way to have an attitude when called out on your over priced item. If you lowered this to $500 I still wouldn't buy this tv from you cause you sound like a real prick! Good luck in life.

MODNOTE: Seriously, what did I just get through saying? Take a break until tomorrow. If you can't conduct yourself in this forum, don't post here at all. -Gonso

And OP, just put up your current offer (if any different from the original price), and don't bother with all the back and forth. You can bump it with updates as per forum policy, but remember there's a limit to that.
