I Caught My Scammer, He's now Busted by his Mommy! I Caught My Scammer, He's now Busted by his Mommy!

Some of you followed the thread where I was threatened by a 2+2'er, "Dbellavia1" after agreeing to buy his laptop computer for $200 plus shipping.

Here is the thread:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/10...ens-me-368856/

"Scott" as he called himself, has repeatedly ignored my PM's although he has been on 2+2 and has used the $22 I sent him in advance for shipping to play in numerous tourneys. He won for awhile, but now is busto again, putting him down nearly $200 total according to sharkscope. (I don't think he's a very good pokah player)

Someone PM'd me with more info about "Dbellavia1" informing me that he was from Florida, not New York as he said. I also discovered that his parents do NOT own a used computer store.

So I located more info about him by googeling his pokerstars name, "BigF29"
Here is a link to a forum in Florida: http://forums.angryjacks.com/viewtop...1784&view=next

So I located his registered phone number, and called today at a reasonable hour. Who answered the phone? His mommy.

That's right, his MOMMY answered the phone. It seems his real name is David and he is 18 years old.

His mom immediately asked, "What did he do now?" and I told her the story. She was half shocked, but understanding and apologized for him several times. She also said he would send a money order for the $22 to me immediately.

Within 10 minutes I got a call from Florida from my scammer, David.

David apologized and said he heard about the 2+2 computer sales scam from a "friend" of his who pulled it off and got away with it recently...

David said he would send the $22 and again, apologized, saying he kept getting in deeper and deeper and it was a dumb thing to do.

In one of his final messages he said this about the allegations that I was trying to not pay him for his computer that he allegedly sent:

"Any knowlledge of this situation is non exisitent Op is a lair and had my stars account chopped for no reason, thats my final statement he's a scumbag and hope i can meet him in vegas this summer id love to settle it with him then. tell him ill be in the Rio 14th floor for a mounth straight reservations booked."

I did, in fact, help get his Stars account locked with complaints about him being an under-aged scammer. They did the math and followed his history and locked his account.

So to summerize, I will not be calling the police. I was young once too. It would be interesting to see if he will do the right thing and send me my money back, and if he will finger the "friend" of his who ripped off a fellow 2+2'er for several hundred dollars.

I'm hoping, and I challenged David to come on here and apologize to all of us for his attempted scams. He also wrote others trying to sell his computer to them as well...

I hope he does come on here to admit his mistakes and discourage others from trying to scam us here, great work by those that helped me, and to David's mom for being classy.

Cliff Notes:

Guy tries to scam me for $222.
Guy gets away with scamming me for $22.
Guy is located in different state, turns out he lives at home and his mommy makes him call and apologize to me.
Guy might apologize on 2+2 for his attempted scam attempts.

Have a great holiday season guys! Watch your backs!

These kids need a good kick in the ass in order not to do it again. I`m sure "young" david will be doing this **** soon enough. I know a hell of 18-year-olds and those "kids" should not be treated as kids but as adults who are scamming ppl. period.

Are you sure he's 18? Because this guy is 20, and looks the part. Also, would explain why mommy wondered, "What did he do now?"

HOLY CRAP!!! That's HIM, someone please photoshop something now!

I am thinking cause he's on probation that I could get him in JUST A BIT of trouble if I were to formally charge him...

Great work finding him, yep, Land o' Lakes is the town he's from...

This is the best thread of all time. Really amazing what you 2+2 detectives have come up with...
12-23-2008 , 09:28 PM

If you do, imagine how his mom will feel about her son. Plus...Florida is a XXX state I think.

FL is a 3 strikes state, but the strikes apply to violent felonies.

haha, good ****, it's kinda sick that you can totally **** up his life for a mere $22, unless it counts as a misdeminor?
On the other hand, he tried to scam you for $222, and I'm guessing that's enough to stick
