How long is short term?
I have stayed here:
http://stayinglevel.com

a few times. great location and apartments but pricey. They are owned by Onni (one of biggest real estate developers in vancouver) so they can probably refer you to other options as well

Yo everyone!
it seems ive found the right thread. im heading to Vancouver come tuesday. i was planning on doing the craigs list thing, but would rather not get hacksawed into pieces. im 26 from NY, been full time pokerguy for like 2 years.
so if anyone is getting a place im totally down (as long there are no hacksaws involved).
i dont really have any price restrictions, but wouldn't like to spend more than 2k/m per person unless is really really dope).

chk out my dumb blog or PM me and ill give you my FB so we can mutally judge eachother to see if it'd be a good fit.

Relocated to Vancouver for 2 weeks now. Any US poker players want to check out the bars/clubs this weekend?

Hello all. I will also be moving to Vancouver towards the end of June and would be down to get something set up for July. I'm a 6-max limit player and have been a pro for 6 years and this will be my 4th year attaining elite. One roommate would be fine in a 2 bedroom apartment, but getting a house with 3-4 of us would be cool too. I'm currently getting in contact with a real estate agent to help out in the search.

I'm 26, like to workout, play chess, video games, music, drink socially and smoke a little weed. I'm very friendly and easy going and have good living habits (I'm not a slob but def not some neat freak either). Good luck with relocating everybody! It sure is some stressful times.

Hey guys,

I moved to Van from California for school six years ago and never left. From my time living here, I can suggest the following:

Go downtown or as close as possible if you like being out. The big struggle I have found (I'm a chef and don't get off from work until midnight or later most nights) is to find late night food options -- Siegels Bagels, Al'Basha's, the Naam, and Tim's are your only non-coffee shop options in Kits, so factor that in if you're big on late night eating.

Let me know if you guys are going out anytime in the near future, or are looking for good food recommendations.

Sup bros, I live in Richmond now, but my lease runs out on August 15 and my roommate is getting married so I'll be looking for a new place. Is this still happening?

Just got here on Tuesday, though still waiting on Stars. Living in West End on the beach. Can you recommend decent bars downtown? As in ones good for watching a game and ones that are bar/dancing but not necessarily clubs? We've mostly just been on granville but it seems to be hit or miss.

Also some good casual restaurants, and a good fresh seafood choice?

everyone in Vancouver ****s on Surrey. But the real fact is, if this place is a ****hole then the ****tiest hole in Vancouver is about on par with a decent hole in the US.

Anyone have a place I can rent for a few weeks to a month? I am thinking about coming up to cashout full tilt money as it doesn't look like there will really be another way :/

How long was the waiting period from the day you guys crossed the border until the day you could start grinding online with everything setup? (Assuming you had already found a house and roommates etc) Also just curious what most 2 bedroom apartments rent for in northern Vancouver?? Def trying to make the move there in September when my lease is up. If anyone who has already done the move could PM me that would be awesome I have a few more questions!

Also are you saying that once you setup a bank account and get an address and everything verified we can just cashout our fulltilt money thats stuck on there??? And UB too I assume??? I did not know that was the case. That makes this way more of an obvious move

Change your picture, it's annoying.

I'm paying 1300/mo with utilities, but I'm on the beach downtown. I'm sure you could get <800 mo. Took about 5-6 days before I could play. Most of this depends on stars, since I had all my documents in within 1 day.

I don't know what the deal is with cashing out via tilt, I'd check some other threads on the subject.

I'd definitely be down to get out of the states and live in Vancouver for 6 months-1 year when my lease is up in August. I love the idea of being able to pick up and head to Whistler whenever I feel like it for some phenomenal snowboarding/skiing. An ideal area for me would be Kitsilano or Gastown or anywhere in between. Looks like there are some decent golf courses in that vicinity. Would also love to check out some Canucks games when the season starts back up again. Being close to Edgewater would be a plus as well.

I'd be down to share a place with 3-5 other poker players. 24 years old. I grind sngs and mtts. Full tilt name: mredd22, pstars:reddiswet

Sorry, I forgot to follow up on this thread.

For good drinks I'd recommend Alibi Room (157 Alexander St) and Rogue Kitchen & Wet Bar (Waterfront Station where the seabus is). Both places have exceptional beers on tap and Rogue works great for watching sports. The food is alright.

Club-wise, I have no idea. I can only name off places I haven't been. While you're here, make sure you catch a show at Commodore Ballroom whenever you have a chance as it's an amazing venue.

Food wise, here's a list of places you should definitely hit up this summer:
la taqueria (322 W hastings)
meat and bread (370 cambie st)
cafe regelade (2836 W 4th)

UPDATE: Vancouver Grindtopia is back on!

-Officially an alumni of UCLA. Now I can focus on the important things in life (aka poker).

-I am ready to move in ASAP. Getting a lease starting August 1st or 15th would be ideal. 3 month lease to start.

-Looking for two people interested in getting a three bedroom apartment in Vancouver (Kitsilano, West End, downtown or North Vancouver seem to be best places).

- http://vancouver.kijiji.ca and http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/ are the best places for us to look, IMO.

-PM me if you're interested in winning/getting this together.

For good luck:

As it stands now, me and abdaar are on for this...but we are still looking for another poker player...

I've found a few potential places:
1) http://vancouver.kijiji.ca/c-real-es...AdIdZ298236680
or
2) http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...504326923.html

...and others. Basically, all good pre-furnished apartments relatively close to stores, nightlife and can accommodate our utilities/hard phone line requirements are on the table atm.

PM me if interested (please include some basic details about yourself, and your skype).

For good luck:

We're all set up in Grindtopia now.

Anti-tilt view in all rooms:

Mods: Please don't lock thread yet. We might need to replace roommates in a month or two and will bump thread if needed.
