This alone makes you not so blameless in the product not arriving on time, especially if it arrived within 5 days of him leaving. It means if you'd held up your side and sent in 48hrs in the first place he would have gotten it on time.

And of course that's ignoring the fact that apparently the product wasn't even the right size...

lilman- Even though you did send the comp, the way you respond and act in this thread looks really bad for you.

currently in communication with ben , sorry about the 2inches i measured the screen wrong and swore up and down it was 17 inches , this computer does have an i7 processor which is not standard this machine is a beast ben is requesting 400 refund which i think is way too much considering i bought him a new charger out of pocket for 140 which was not apart of the deal posted . However we are communicating and im sure resolution will be made.

Considering how badly you've ****ed him in this thread you should be accepting nearly any offer he gives you.

Doggz thanks for your opinion im talking to ben now so dont know what else to say besides my bad on the size but my intention was to never burn ben in any way shape or form this computer sells from 800-2k , I am seeking further help from mac pros and this will get handled in some form or another

But I was wrong and don't have a problem saying so, and honestly am glad this ended well because they rarely do.

That said, phishman certainly wasn't out of line. 2+ weeks went by and even now he's still pretty set back without a computer in Mexico. Not to mention a couple of posts you made alluding to his roommate + basically saying he was SOL if it never arrived. So you can rightfully take issue with my premature comments, which I again apologize for making, but if anything you should be apologizing to phishman for the inconvenience you caused him instead of being so indignant. None of this was his fault, and he's still not able to grind and has to ship through Mexico post.
understood. and yea i know its sad to see how some people do that to one another

So then why is his $400 refund offer so absurd considering your negligence and the major inconvenience you've caused him so far (and apparently continue to cause him) for a noticeably used product?
12-30-2012 , 08:36 PM
because i wouldnt want to sell this computer for 700 , negligence? ask ben if i havent been in communication? he has all my contact info , he recd his computer ...400 is just too much off the price tag
12-30-2012 , 08:46 PM
Well I'd file not knowing how to accurately measure a screen and advertising it's size incorrectly as somewhat negligent...

Man I think people are getting on OP way way too much. Yes he messed up but not to the extent everyone is making it out to be. People were on him so much before they knew the screen differential. Realistically the computer just got shipped late. Phisman selling his before even receiving this one is on him, and I would never do such a thing if thats what I used as a main computer. He didnt scam anyone, and definitely seemed like the size thing was an accident.

$400 is a ridiculous amount to ask for back as the computer is worth much more than 700. Just send the computer back Phisman and let this be over with.

Did you not read where Ben just asks for his $1150 back already?

I believe his post was edited because at first he asked for 400 back. Either way, he should just send it back and let this be over with

Ben is in Mexico and I don't have 1.1k to buy
back a computer ATm. Best I can do is help Ben re sell it not like
Ben bought a lemon or like I robbed him he was well aware of the computers condition
Etc.. the sale is final with me ATM just shuffling ideas around ATM to try n smooth things
over my clear cut intention obviously was to ensure an easy fast transaction
12-30-2012 , 11:51 PM
well i bought a $50 case for a 17" macbook which is now useless, and i also had to pay my friend $50 to run around town yesterday to get the charger and computer before he flew down to mexico. but yeah, i would prefer to just get the $1150 back at this point, but i don't mind taking like $350 and just keeping the computer if i have to. either way, op and i are going to figure something out soon
12-30-2012 , 11:52 PM
That plus Mexico is super sketch on their mailing system. Also I'm talking to a few people who
Are interested in the computer so I'm.just gonna try n get Ben all squared away

OP, the fact that you arent willing to offer a refund would make me want to never do business with you and I do believe your MP privlidges should be pulled. You sold him a product you falsely advertised, mistake or not, its so douchy to not be offering a full refund
12-31-2012 , 12:39 AM
I just don't have 1.1k I mean sorry but this was an honest mistake
Im going to keep this conversation between me and Ben now we will.post official
Resolution once we agree to something
12-31-2012 , 12:43 AM
The fact that OP was just gonna be like "it's on your friend man, my mom told me she shipped it, but i don't have a tracking number" if it didn't come is grounds for MP approval being pulled imo

seriously op just refund him the 400, this is unreal
12-31-2012 , 12:46 AM
Dude what are talking about Ben received the computer
12-31-2012 , 12:53 AM
Yes I know he rec'd it, i'm just saying the way you how have been handling things itt is very unprofessional.
12-31-2012 , 12:58 AM
the only thing I've done wrong was not measure the screen right
If they pull my MP privileges over that honest mistake and misunderstand
My true intentions than so be it. Its not like Ben has a computer that isn't worth a penny
Its a very nice machine and this would easily sell

Its the fact that a refund isnt available to him. I didnt think you handled yourself poorly prior to him receiving the computer. You sold him a computer that wasnt the one that was advertised. If its a nice machine and would easily sell, you should borrow 1100 from your mom since you rely on her so much and give him his money back and resell it. You 100% deserve to not sell anything here again unless you offer a full refund

[x] falsely advertise item for sale
[x] lie about when item is being sent
[x] never provide tracking number
[x] item takes two weeks to reach its destination
[x] item received is not the item buyer bought
[x] decline offering a refund because money is already spent

Any one of those checkboxes would make me unhappy as a buyer. You've amazingly hit all of them.
