Just out of curiosity. How well did you retain all the info from reading all these!? Which ones do you recommend more then others?

I read all of them once, and some of them 3 or 4 times.

Some of the information is a little bit older and you have to understand that you are almost studying game theory history. I have found that approach makes the newer concepts easier to grasp as you are kind of seeing the changes in strategy, in a linear fashion, etc.

Another thing to take into account is some of the books have better information and some have better authors. For example most of the Sklansky/Ed Miller stuff is top notch content, but you have to really apply yourself to read it, as it is written very dry.

As far as recommendations, it all just depends what you are trying to learn, some apply to theory, some to cash games, some to MTTS, etc. etc. So I would honestly recommend any of them for different aspects.

I'd say the Gus Hansen book is probably my favorite, and the Cloutier/McEvoy book is surprisingly insightful.

The most recommended poker book, I am keeping, is The Mental Game of Poker by Jared Tendler. He just came out with part 2 which I haven't read yet, but part 1 has helped me in many areas besides poker.

Yea I'm half way through ace on the river and its a great book on just how rough some people DON'T have it compared to others. And to be able to learn from their mistakes is a huge step forward without having to learn it the hard way if you are smart enough to do so! Gus Hansen's book is next on my list
