Hi all,

I made a previous PG&C but ended it prematurely due to it becoming a chore to update everyday (my own fault); I made it too long-winded which, in-turn, made it a huge time sink for me. This time round I will do my best to keep it as TL;DR as possible, both for myself, and for anyone who chooses to follow my (hopeful) progress.

About me
-20 Years old from the UK
-Math geek
-Rugby enthusiast
-Passion for traveling (travelled the world solo in 2015)
-16nlz Poker noob, hopefully this is relatively short-lived.

Goals:
-Learning to care more about improving as a player and less about caring about results
-Improve volume - 75k+ hands a month would be a good target for me
-Improve mental game - I do not tilt-spew, but I do struggle mentally when losing unless the losses are clear coolers

Today was pretty interesting - didn't get into the greatest of starts but I managed to grind most of it out. Definitely a fun day, lots of fish and lots of regs so it was pretty action packed for the most part

1). Hell yeah! Vs nittyish rec. Pretty light call down but his line made little sense to me. Math is idiotic at times.

2). Vs nit reg. I really hate folding here but I think it is correct...

3). Vs aggro reg. I don't think I can ever not bluff here given the hand I was
given. xb by V otf was nice. gg

4). Vs maniac with 22% sq+36% 3b otb vs co open

5). Not sure if this is good. btn is a std reg and bb is a fish.

All in EV can be very misleading so I wouldn't really put too much thought into it.

H1: looks pretty spewy.
H2: Really annoying spot ott but I think fold is good villain can have sets and straight. Don't think nits are creative enough to raise the turn here as a bluff or /w draws.
H4: Is standard.
H5: Fold river.

Yeah it is definitely susceptible to hidden EV, but it is the best I am going to get.

H1: Agreed at face value it definitely looks far too wide to call. It was more of a gun instinct/intuition.
H4: I am glad you agree
H5: Yeah I think you are right, looking back I dislike my call more and more.

I would like to be moving up by Juneish time. I am priortising a 100k+ graph at NL16 over moving up atm . Best of luck to you.

Pretty rough day today Probably played bad tbh but definitely didn't run too great either. At the end of most days I can usually find 3-5 hands that are played badly, I've got a pretty good feeling that today's will reach double figures lol.

1). I don't think I can fold this given his xb ott+A8+98 blockers.

2). I am fine with flop+turn. River is spew.

3). Call pre because of implied odds vs fish. River is probably an xc.

4). Still on the fence about this. Looked too much like AK/missed FD. FWIW he was aggro over a smallish sample. I don't think I can ever see this being too bad either way.

5). Vs a solid reg. Turned my Q's into a bluff to make him fold sets. It's ambitious but correct given my reads on him imo.

6). Lots of history with this guy. Knew he was full of it! Pwned.

4) I'm prob playing it the same but not loving facing that flop jam at all

5). Yeah I am careful and it is not something I do much at all. I thought he was good enough to fold a set and since he didn't snap fold I think he actually did.

6). Reg that has a very aggressive dynamic with me. His actual stats are pretty std but there is no way they are the same vs me. I just knew he was full of crap as he would 100% shove his value here from what I have seen.

Did a mini session last night before going to bed, played well for the most part.

1). Can we ever fold given his xb ott? Board is too wet to xb Kx ott imo unless it's housed up already, but even then there are a lot of river cards that kill his action. V is 9/8/0 over 55 hands at the time which is the only bad part but the sample size is pretty small.

2). Vs a fish 43/5 43% limp fish..... god dammit lol. Pretty sure this is a call, vs a shove I think we fold.

3). vs more fish. dunno why I xc flop here, I guess it may be because he was short idk.

4). Vs absolute maniac (34/27/15, 3.94 AF and he plays even more outrageous vs m. He is also a tiltmonkey)

Station day today. I did not give anyone any credit and it seemed to work well. Not sure if this is a hindrance or a blessing in my game lol (does anyone not believe Russian's?!). Today was cool. Played well and barely spewed, although I made a call (H3 below) which was pretty bad in hindsight. Oh well!!

Side story:
I searched for Nanonoko on the Pokerstars client today as he has been back on the grind for the past couple days. The sicko was 14 tabling, 7 of those being zoom, ranging between NL100-NL1k. After seeing that I decided to fire up two NL10z tables accompanying my usual 4x16nlz regime. 10 mins later the NL10z tables were gone hahaha, fml.

(How many hands/hr do you think 7xreg+7xzoom is @ NL100-NL1k?)

1). Vs std reg. Turn needs to be bigger but apart from that I think it's fine vs the right opponent, which I deem him to be. Maybe I am paranoid, but I think he called this down otr because of a timing tell he got off me ott (I was distracted on another hand which made me go 20 seconds into my timebank). Either way gg.

2). Yh this is prob bad. At the time I thought differently.

3). BTN has 22% sq over 1k hands so I decided to flat pre. Flop is bad, I snapped this off at the time then hated myself after lmao

4). I literally never get away from AK in LP but this guy is a 16/13/5 1.86AF nit over 312 hands. FWIW I probably call his shove, but that 5b looks so nutted, far more-so than a shove does anyway.


Will do some more tonight. I did another sesh last night which ended -2bi over 1k hands, no hands were interesting though, just coolers/card dead.

Lol looks like I need to reread NLH Poker Rules. I forgot that high card still comes into play even with quads lol. I was probably marked a fish (rightfully so) since I said "Please do not shove, we all lose to rake!!" lmao

Don't really like turnbet in H1 as we don't turn any equity and have A hi, altho it's debatable how much SDV that has, but either way I don't think we're 'supposed' to go broke 160deep in this hand.

Yeah Q6s is a fold pre and river imo, based on sizings I guess it's a recreational but still think pre is a fold, would maybe call Q8s+ if I know he is bad

H3 I think we should 4b bigger pre 3way, not the greatest flop for our hand obv but his jam is just lolworthy, unless he has really nitty stats I think it's still ok to call flopjam

I think I played below par/average at very best, just ran pretty well. Gotta do some reviews as my subconscious is not happy with my performance.

1). Vs unknown/fish

2). Btn+BB are both average regs... I think this is the only choice I have?? I calc'd my shove ott to +3bb before rake. I do not think there is a better line here. Could be wrong?

3). Turn is bad!! Dammit.

4). What is best here??? Big otf jam turn/bet bet jam/xr jam turn/xc xc xc?
