Hi Pastor, nice to see you doing these types of challenges!
How do you manage to mantain focus in long hour sessions? Is there anything you do to keep yourself motivated?

And since everybody is asking about your opinions on other regs i'll ask you about Baalim.
Good luck on the challenge!

Hm, not really. Can't really give you an advice with this :P, I just listen music .

About Baalim, he's not playing z500, long time without playing with him, but as I remember he was a breakeven reg (or even looser), but I'm talking about the past, really don't know how is he doing nowadays.

Today was a total mess. Can't be running worse, but still really happy with the results. Had some pretty ridiculous hands.

Hands: 2973
EV: -$260

Challenge evbb/100 atm: 2.12

Let's go with the hands:

Ending up almost even a session like this is kind of awesome .

Still don't know if I'm gonna make another session later, already played 4.60 hs in a row this session, and it was kind of stressful.

He could be still ch/shoving JJ+ for value and some draw, and I can't just bet/call 99 here. It's truth our hand needs protection from overcards, but I think checking and trying to get SD is the right play here. It's very player dependent tho, I'll be betting this hand against some ppl.

Villain's range is somewhat capped when he just calls on the flop vs 1/3psb, OTT we have some flush draws, straight draws, gutters, etc that want to bluff and by overbetting we can put pressure on a range which is mostly weaker Tx.

Spoiler:
OP pls flame me if my appraisal of the spot is way off <3

I wouldn't really say he is capped. It's truth that when we cb 1/3 pot, he should be c/r more, and some players will c/r all the strong hands, but on T43r, a ton of players are gonna be just c/c hands like 44/33. The main reason of why are we overbeting is because SPR is so big, and the only way of playing a big pot is having an overbeting range. Doing this for value, also let us bluff some hands (OESD/FD, combo draws and hands like gutshots once in a while) putting pressure on middle strength hands.

ye ofc. Is wanting to play a big pot reason to overbet? Fwiw Idoverbet here too w value/bluffs but do we always want to play a big pot in this sort of spot? I.e. what do we do with medium strength hands?

You can have many reasons for overbeting, one is for making a big pot, like having 44 in that hand. Other reason could be a hand where you only have 2 streets or value, and there are many bad rivers, so you overbet turn for checking river, I.e: AQ on QT2ss8.
