Sup guys! I decided to start out a PG&C here to track my progress, get roasted and learn from everyone.

Brief introduction: I’m Fran, 25, born and raised in Madrid, Spain, finishing my chemistry degree next month if everything goes as expected. I go by Zippimola on twitter, twitch, youtube and all social media.

I’m very different to the stereotype of a poker player. Not really into partying, don’t drink, smoke, do drugs nor anything like that. Live a simple life, have a gf that supports me in everything I do, she was my crush since I’m 14. Made a somewhat humanitarian trip about 4 years ago to the USA for almost 3 years, where I helped people with problems integrate in society, helped them find jobs, prepared them for interviews, ran an adiction recovery program, and stuff like that. If anyone is interested in reading some more of this or some cool experiences I’ll do it, but for now I guess no one is looking for something like that in a poker forum full of degen stuff (I love reading that too).

Poker wise: I have always played cash, started playing NL2 9max on pokerstars, spent about a year trying very hard to beat it and I couldn’t haha. Came across a very respected member of another poker forum (not sure if I’m allowed to write the site or something, but it’s whatever anyways) and he helped me for free to reach NL25 within 6 months (I have always been very slow with progression in poker). The hype didn’t last long, because in 2013 is when I decided to do my trip, went to the USA where online poker was banned, and I wasn’t really thinking about poker anyways. Came back to Spain in 2017 and after a few months I checked how online poker was going here. The goverment literally had destroyed it, we weren’t able to play with any other country, had to pay between 18-49% in taxes on winnings, rake was much higher than anywhere else... but they announced that Portugal, France and Italy would join us soon, so I decided to give it a go.

Tried to find this guy that helped me to say hi, and I saw that he scammed a lot of people for a lot of money and never came back haha, it was very shocking for everyone.

Long story short, I’m now getting coached by a member of this community, playing NL50 SH at the moment, 20k more hands and I’ll finish with him and start my solo journey. I have PIO but hardly know how to use it. Also not really trying, I know for NL50 isnt necessary at all, but I have the expectation to get to a point this year where I will need it.

I stream about 3 times a week (in Spanish, dont mind setting up an English stream if you want). I create pretty cool layouts, nice calm music and very chill streams. Also get paid to stream microlimit sessions for pokerstrategy (well, I said it, if not allowed, feel free to edit this or tell me to do it).

The goal is simple: 15k€ in 2019. First couple of months were pretty rough, had a huge upswing on december 2018 and crushed down hard in january 2019. March was my best month ever, a bit over 2k€ playing 25k hands in NL25 and 20k hands in NL50, and April looks ugly again, gotta work on that mindset, I know I’m a winning player at NL50, just have to focus.

I would like to try out NL100 soon, although I know I probably won’t be a winning player there. Just want to feel it, see how the tables are, and mentalize myself that I can do it. Usually my shots are 4BI, if I lose them, I move back to recover and try again. It takes me 3-4 shots at least, but it’s not mentally challenging for me.

And to finish, here is the ugly graph, will improve for sure!

How does it make sense to be humanitarian and help people, while choosing poker as your source of income? Of all jobs in existance, poker is probably the only one that is completely unproductive and unhelpful to society. It's basically a legal way of stealing money from people who are dum.

Anyways, good luck on your challenge!

My PGC goal for 2019 is also to make at least 15k.
Let's have a side challenge: The one who makes more in 2019 wins
Should help with motivation.

It doesn’t. I have had my own moral issues with that ever since I started making decent money, and maybe if I could go back to when I started I wouldnt have done it. When I went to USA I decided to quit forever, and forgot about it for over 3 years, but the itch came back. I know it sounds dumb, but that’s what it is, honestly. Also every year I donate 10% of my winnings to an organization I’m affiliated to, I guess that’s the way I justify myself for doing what I do.

Anyhow, I know it is incongruous, and maybe in the future I make out my mind. For now this is the reality and I’m gonna try my best to reach my goals. For now, it is to play NL100 by June and to make 15k€ in 2019.

I’ll check out your PG&C, let’s see who gets there first! GLGL
