Also, I think people are lazy in general and most get comfortable when they reach some level where they are satisfied with their income and have no aspiration to get better afterwards.
This is mainly bound to live poker. In my country (Czech Republic) there are online players who try to get better everyday but majority of live players learnt rules decades ago, developed some playing style everybody around them used and they are comfortable with it.
They can't even be called "recs" because they play on almost daily basis and once in a while they bink some tournament or CG jackpot and so they get the feeling that they can win and so don't quit poker even though I think most have negative ROI and the "better" ones are breakeven.
These guys like the game because of the gambling and social perspective because they have many friends in the casino and it's become part of their lifestyle.

Rapidesh posts seem very reasonable lately. I find it really lame to attack him constantly all he did was keeping up a thread and being active in discussion which most people who just come here to flame others don't have encourage to do.

What are your plans outside of poker btw? Given that you seem to study a wide range of subjects. Is it preparation for something in particular or just out of fun and general interest?

I wanted to do my thesis on this basically unknown topic called moral grammar theory but i couldn't come up with anything original and had no background in cognitive science subjects like biology/psychology/linguistics/anthropology, so i put that on hold until i'm more well read in those areas. I don't really want to be someone just writing about some unimportant topic that 3 people will read and then say I have a doctorate. That doesn't appeal to me. I'll go back to uni if i find something interesting to write about.

I got an interest in politics and important issues like the economy, climate change, ect as well so I'll have to choose one and quit poker soon if i'm serious about it.

actually focusing more on fitness lately, took up taekwondo/football/calisthenics and started eating healthier.
