For soft grimming they could add an optional feature in the settings that switches blind posting to manual mode whenever a big blind is skipped to your right due to sitout. It's easy for stars to implement and less intrusive to game mechanics.

Not a perfect solution, but much better than no solution.

Soft grimming seems not to be anywhere near as big of an issue playing 500+ than it does lower (I think mostly bc reg pool is softer). Most regs I play vs balance the blinds themselves, in my favour and their own most of the time, its only when you get the ultra bumhunt guys that they will always soft grim. I like SalmoTrutta's idea on this topic.

Something else not mentioned is that due to the 4 table cap sometimes 3H games break without warning if a player gets a good seat elsewhere and blinds are not balanced when they leave = soft grim. Dont think there is a solution here that isnt bad for everyone (I think I'd rather this happen than them prevent us being able to take the seat until blinds are balanced for example)

Wrt bumhunting - its kinda whatever, always going to happen and not much that can be done. The orbit anon type thing seems disasterous for guys starting tables bc like previously said it delays the inveitable. I do think incentivising game starting should happen and would help drive traffic (obv im pretty biased here tho).

Ultimately, I think its important to realise that stars do not gaf about reg tables since its so bad for deposit retention and the chance they take any action is minimal unless its in their best interests to do so

I also don't get soft grimmed very often, at 5/10+ almost everyone is honorable, however the problem isn't just getting grimmed but the meaningless attention you have to pay attention to, like counting buttons/blinds when you sit down, ect.

with respect to anonymous orbit, or hand. Thing is if you have ante only tables, it won't really hurt or adding to grimming since grimming will be nonexistent. Also, remember you only get 2 shots at joining a table before you can't join it any longer, so bumhunters are taking a risk when joining. I didn't put much thought into this one so i think it can certainly be improved on.

In any case, in not a self righteous moral crusader against the bumhunting demons, but it is a solution if a site want's to take an anti bumhunting stance.

Yeah, i realize stars doesn't care, however doesn't hurt to come up with things like this in my spare time.

One of the reasons reg>zoom is because you get to play with some bad bumhunters. If it's not a righteous moral crusader I would keep quiet, Amya don't need another reason to lower overall winrates

Yeah it is pretty annoying to have to watch out with the SB/BB thing. Back when scripts were a thing last year I paid 1k more BBs than BUs (russians had script that auto sat out when fish bust, which may/may not exist now).

Yeah the other issue with anon 1 orbit is that seat requests reset after 3 hands I believe

TBH I thought that snap clicking sit out was part of the game (unfortunately). I balance but 3+ didn't know it's a thing, what's the "correct" way to do it? Play one orbit? What happens if say of the 5 we know one is for sure gonna quit?
Sometimes I saw some regs not sitting snap out which usually I assume they just missed it but I guess on hindsight could have been intentional? I'd say 95% Ppl snap sit out including high stakes regs or whatever though

Ye im in the same boat, thinking it was just part of the game when it wasnt shorthanded. Maybe someone can list some guidelines wrt to the issue in order to help people from doing it out of naivety. Im sure its relatively straightforward anyway but im kind of confused on it

A small step towards anon tables? pls no. Anon poker is the nuts low. Just make something like seat me with banning bumhunters from rejoining tables if they dont complete some orbits or something similar.

Blinds only get balanced when tables are started and closed before rec players join. When there is a 6max game with rec busting, you are not allowed to instant sitout, unless that entails leaving the table aswell. But when the rec leaves its free for all for sitting out and leaving and only thing that is supposed to get sorted is when it accidentally goes hu after this. Personally I often even cba sort blinds when tables goes 5 handed regbattle because it takes forever because someone is always missing the sitout, so I just try to leave at somewhat fair positions.

It's not really hard to click out sitout next hand after rec leaves, atleast at hs kinda rarely tables even runs an extra hand after rec leaves.

If you were starting the table and wanna keep battling, you are welcome to stay at the table but its usually just easier to sitout and start new battle.

Anon lobbies would be by far the most annoying for table starters when it would increase random table hopping stuff by 90000x.

Stars are bringing in anon tables. Apparently alongside normal tables.

My guess is they will snap-announce it on Dec 31st and it will take effect on Jan 1st.

anon sucks, so do slippery slope arguments. My proposal was completely different, though other ideas people have presented here have a lot of merit to them.
