Poker has been very slow this month. Will post results from stars when I get round to my computer. Played some on softer untracked sites to boost confidence and bank some winning sessions. Alternative sites have gone pretty decent which is good.

Landed the job which is brilliant so I'll be moving to London and starting training in just over a week. Going to continue with poker but unsure to what degree I'll continue with it. Ultimately playing poker solely for income was stressful and brought a lot of the fun out of the game for me. I'm also very sociable and feeling inclined to work friday and Saturday nights killed my soul a bit over time.

Will keep this blog going as I'm very sure I'll continue with poker due to the ability to make good money out of a serious hobby.

Job will be in Mayfair although after training I'm mostly doing analytical work remote from home. As i wont have to commute as often, I'm currently looking around Forest Hill and Finchley mostly. Any recommendations for good places to live in London appreciated...!

Month update:
Ran dreadful followed by horrific amounts of accumulated tilt. Now the stress of playing full time is off i'm hoping results will turn around as I feel significantly more relaxed at the tables. Just want to start playing at least my B game again as I have played terribly this entire month. (At least untracked results on softer sites have been decent )

Going to a BBQ and probably grind some later tomorrow (maybe tonight depending how the BBQ goes and how I feel)

Heatering can really mess with your mentality I think, I always go through similar <C game stretches when a prolonged upswing ends.

Keep blogging by all means, I can't be the only one interested in how a job/poker balance can take shape.

I still love the game and expect I will still seriously play poker outside of my job. I expect I will enjoy the game more in all honesty (removal of stress and reliance on income etc).

Haha. Might be looking at Guildford as a mate is looking to get a place there and I'll mostly be working from home after the initial training.

I'm sure I will too! Poker as my sole income (for now) was just a no go. I didn't enjoy it and it removed the love of the game for me.

---

Don't remember booking a winning session greater than +200 in a while. Small session(s) but winners tilt is just gonna call it quits for now (grind tonight maybe...)

Close to breakeven on the month in EV (after taking untracked sites into consideration). Considering how I ran and the accumulated tilt which I've never experienced to this degree before, the month aint going to be that much of a disaster.

I guess time for an update.

Life has been good since starting work. Enjoying the reduction of stress as a result of having a steady paycheck. Getting better at analysing the reports so currently looking at building up a small portfolio and investing in a few stocks. I've been hitting the gym hard and having a much more balanced social life.

As for poker I decided to take a break pretty much but I know i'll continue to grind. I just wanted a complete break to de-stress and get some balance back in my life.

For the small volume I have played I have ran well. I'm moving London permanently mid next month and if I get the itch to play I will otherwise I'll postpone grinding until the end of next month.

I Appreciate the compliment. Any chance of a SN?

---

Got settled into my new job and being productive with my time over the past week. Managed to grind some hours out. Games have been soft, I've managed to suppress the amount I tilt and I've played pretty well overall.

Next month I'm moving London midway so volume might slack as I get accustomed to my new place.

Definitely comfortable back at the tables. Doubt i'll contemplate 200z anytime soon. 100z is significantly softer, swings are obviously smaller and my edge will be reduced significantly at 200 (I think I would be a winner for what it's worth). I'm also trying out new things and feel 100z is the best place for me to implement these changes.

Disagree with Ben obv.. Finchley is lovely, I work there. Not sure on Forest Hill though. North is the place to be

Both places seemed nice but I was looking for something more lively. Going to be in Mile End so hopefully I haven't made a terrible decision...

Appreciate the kind words mate!

Hey Shoms. Yeah maybe one day. V.busy atm and also doing more stff which I don't think I'd enjoy streaming publicly to a decent sized audience If i start looking to invest some time into coaching i'll likely get back to streaming frequently.

Very happy with results since returning. Volume is like 90% past week as I took a hiatus to get accustomed to my job and take a break from the game.
Might play some later but will probably just play some games and enjoy this free time before moving to London next month where i'll substitute gaming for beers and mates.

Gym has also gone v.well and lifts are getting back to reasonable levels. Going to maintain 5-6X a week with cardio after push and pull days, abs after leg day.

Cheers bro. Yeah it's pretty nice although my aim is to make a good amount from poker to supplement my job.

Month isn't going the best considering the good start. Past week have played alot of B game combined with runbad. Done some discussion off the tables so hopefully seeing spots to exploit the pool more successfully.

Would be nice if I could end the month at 2k+

Gonna keep logging here for personal motivation although it would be cool to hear from others if there are any lurkers around.

Gonna make this the last update for the month. Overall very happy with my poker performance. Considering the move and having another job to balance with poker I have had insane motivation to get back on the grind. I've played suboptimally earlier in the month but I corrected the mistakes I was making and have had the comeback I was aiming for. The overall winrate isn't too bad considering much of the grind was actually on party poker so received 40% rakeback there. Winrate on stars was 4-5bb/100 ev.

Next month going to continue to be as productive as possible and crush as many hands as possible. Might mix in some more 200z if my mental game feels up for larger swings.

Also going to make sure I balance in more social events and continue to go gym 5-6 times per week.

I might be becoming part of a CFP stable. I'll probably stream a bit to promote this within the next month if it happens. You can follow us here: https://www.twitch.tv/hlmedia

200z pool has been a complete joke this year.

Plenty of 1 entries, and whenever I check on the regs playing, about 3 are good/decent. The rest are all meh/mediocre to bad.

You should shot take aggressively at 200z.

Cheers mate. Shot a sesh this morning but got coolered a fair bit. Will probably keep shooting as long as pool looks good. Loved following your thread back when I was grinding 50z last year.

Monthly update.

Pokerwise things went pretty damn good. printed 5 figs online, made some in my first few sessions live (approx 800USD), started coaching again and got several students booking 10 hour packages straight off the bat which is fantastic.

Health wise I've been pretty sick which sucks so I'm being tested for several gut related issues. Hopefully this month will make some progress there and I can get back to living a normal life.

Until then just going to do my best to print as much as I can if i'm in no position to go out socialising, drinking, eating etc.

Poker goals for next month - Play as much as I can and print. Play live more at 2/5 and ofc will be on the feature table on twitch end of the month given i'm not too ill (lol).

I mixed both 100 and 200z last month. Most likely going to just give 200z a shot this month. I realise I need to be able to sustain over 4bb for it to be more profitable.

Maybe maybe. My contract lasts for another 4 months. I'm just going to keep working hard and see where poker brings me during that period.

    September start:

    September goals:
    - Post more frequently on 2+2 with updates and hands
    - Continue to go gym a minimum of 3 days a week and eat a good diet
    - Play minimum 60k hands with a 4bb ev winrate at 200z
    - Play 2/5 and move up to 5/10 end of the month (live games)
    - Meditate everyday for 10 minutes
    - Net $10k playing 200z and with live games.
    - When internet gets fixed i'll get back on with the stream game

Reasons for only 60k hands is I will be playing a ton live. I'll be grinding 3 tables 200z on iPad when playing live (so volume will probably be around 80k hands). If it's possible to get HUD/Database to work on an ipad let me know!
