So here’s the deal guys. This is gonna be a low stakes little thread where I try to run up a bankroll before the WSOP next year. I’m 26 years old and I used to play live cash for a living after college for a little over a year. I mixed in a few tournaments as well. I started working full time over a year ago and since then, I have not been playing near as much as I would like. So this thread is intended to keep me motivated and get me to put in as much volume as possible.

I’m going to start with a $4,000 bankroll. I’m going to slap $1k on America’s Cardroom and play $.25/$.50 on there. As far as live cash goes, I’ll be playing mainly $1/$2 No Limit and dabble in some $2/$5, which is the stakes I used to play full time. If I do that, I’ll probably sell some action to a buddy so we aren’t risking too much of our bankroll. The occasional small buy in, decent guarantee tournament may be mixed in as well (will also probably sell some off). I am willing to reload online and even to the overall bankroll if we bust, but $4,000 just seems like the right number to start with for what I’m going for right now.

Regardless of how this little challenge goes, my plan is to quit my current job at the end of May and move on to a career that I have more interest in (probably something sports related), so I figured I’d take a big shot at Vegas. With that being said, my goal is to turn this $4,000 into $25,000 by May 14th to take to Vegas in the summer and stay for 6 weeks. I chose $25,000 because I am confident I can sell over $25,000 to friends and on here to play a full, smaller buy in tournament schedule in the summer and keep about 50% of myself. It should also give me enough money to play some cash while I’m out there.

100% of profits will go back into my poker bankroll. I will post in here after each session to update how we did. I will also post any interesting hand histories to get a little bit of feedback from you guys.

I’m also going to work on getting back into shape so my physical and mental state are top notch when I go to Vegas. I’m currently clocking in at 175 lbs (only 5’6” YIKES!). In the past, between 160 and 165 was always a good weight for me so that’s what we’re aiming for. I’d like to be at 170 by January 1st, 165 by February 1st, and stay under 165, pretty much forever. I’ve moved to a cleaner diet lately but plan on cleaning it up even more and working out 3-5 times per week. Having goals written down like this and having a few people follow (even if it is only my brother) will help keep me motivated and hopefully get me to where I want to be. Soooo, I hope everyone that follows enjoys and let me know what you guys think.

Hand 1, fold, your 9high flush draw is never good after a bet jam, rejam.

Hand 2, check call, pot river if board pairs or lead, check call river depending on bet size. any of limpers can easily have 79,Q9. you also could also bet small fold to a raise on the river if you think they won't bluff raise your small bet on river.

Agreed. Hand 1 was a pretty easy fold. It was actually k9 vs QJ vs AK, no flush draws. Thanks for the input on hand 2. I elected to bet
