My History

Hi guys. My name is Peter and I am 29 years old. I live in Greece. 5 years ago I stopped working because of health problems. This set me back a lot in my life. After a few months of unemployment I sold my car because I couldn't afford it's expenses. Going out and having fun stopped because of economic reasons and health reasons and as expected most of my friends got distant with me. Things here in my country are bad. So it is almost sure that for the next few years I can't get a decent job. In all these years of misery 3 good things happened to me.
I met my fiance, I understood that the only person that you can rely on is your self and I learned about Poker. I started playing Poker 3 years ago, SNG's on Micros. The first 6 months I was losing money. But I am not one of the people that believe that Poker is about luck and such. So I started bying books, watching training videos and discussing things at Forums like this one.
The results were rapid and I started to have a positive ROI by playing normal bubble play and understanding about ICM that a lot of people in these stakes can't understand what it means.
As time passed I understood that SNG's were a shallow game for me. When the blinds go up the game becomes push-fold and there aren't possibilities for manuevers post flop. Me I liked the deep game so I started playing Cash game the last few months. So in the beginning I couldn't beat it. But as I was training I noticed that the game is soft and someone can beat it if he has the patience to learn to do the right moves.
Right now I live with my parents, unemployed, having nothing that is mine, just a few dollars on Pokerstars. This is my whole fortune. All these may seem to you like I am a crybaby but things aren't like that. I am a fighter and the battle begins now.

My Plan

I will start playing NL 2 6-max at Pokerstars with 60$ as my bankroll, playing 12 tables and maybe I will not be able to go up to NL 5 because I will need to cash out every month some money so until summer to have some money in order to leave from my house. Of course I don't expect to earn millions, but there is no other solution currently, I have to earn money at Poker.

My Daily Program

I will wake up at 10 o' clock in the morning and I will start playing at 10:30. I will play for 6 hours with a 30 minute break.
I will dedicate 45 minutes looking at my hands and posting them at forum and putting them on Flopzilla and 1 hour making various exercises to make my game better and reading articles and watching training videos.

This is my all life playing graph that I have from NL 2 regular tables and NL 2 Zoom tables.

I want to say a big thanks to Carroters from GrinderSchool because he was my first coach that I watched and he made my game better.
Also to Blackrain79 because I have read his book and it is a really good one and also we talk about in this forum and he is a cool guy and he has a lot of fun when he has a bad beat! He changes the tone of his voice and that is cool!

My photo :P

you seem do do pretty well, why would you stay in 2nl for 300k hands? I'm pretty sure with such a steady winrate you would be able to beat as high as 10nl.

Today I played a few hands NL2 and NL5,I did well.I don't think I will play anymore because I am tired.Today I invested 8 Buy-In's and became a member on a training site and I think it will help me a lot.My first target is that by the end of the month to be able to play 24 tables at NL2 and my winrate not to drop by a lot.My second target is to start at NL5 from the next month and I will know what to do at every spot in order to take quick decisions. In about a week I will post my graph,I hope everything will go well as it is going now.

I think youre waisting too much time playing NL2. The skill you have now and reading decent stuff f.e. posts "how the hand shouldve been played an why" writen by 2+2 regs, who plays higher limits would be better investment that the time mass grinding NL2. Dont be atached to micros, always make wise shots higher.

Hello Petros( Γεια σου ρε πατρίδα!!! [ an expresion in Greek]). I will be following your thread for sure.. You seem motivated and skilled enough to accomplish your goals. I hope you will finally achieve want you want. The only sad thing in your thread is that your "friends" got distant when real problems come to surfice..

Anyway good luck to poker and health too...

I started playing only NL5 16 tables, the game is almost the same, maybe the tables are a bit more tight because many nits play mass multitabling and VPIP of the tables goes down a lot.Regulars here are bad, like NL2,they are just a bit more tight.I am a small winner these days, but I believe the results aren't real because Variance hits me a lot.I had the same thing happened to me in my first days at NL2.
My psychology isn't good at all because I have a lot of stress when I play and that makes my game much worse from the one I am able to perform.

I feel like a fish between sharks as I am playing, then I look the results and my graphs to raise my morale that is down.I am a player that can smash NL5 I am saying to myself and I try to be more comfortable.
I will start reading a book aboy the psychology of a poker player and generally I will try to improve my mental game.

I became a member on a second training site, because the first one wasn't good,I spend another 35$ though in order to do that!(Well that how investments go!)

Also because today I had a really long session, around 10 hours(LOL)I noticed that the game was becoming easier as time passed and afternoon was coming, have you noticed anything similar?I live in Greece so we have almost the same time.

I will raise at Sunday night graphs because by then I will have played a few thousands hands more.
So we shall talk again then, the battle rages on...

Hi people, yesterday I started an account at Full Tilt.My goal is to get the first deposit bonus and some money from rakeback.Things aren't good because my PC can't handle so many tables together and because of this Tracker works normally but Hud to not work well.So this is CATASTROPHIC for me because this time I play 4 tables zoom and 4 rush simultaneously in 2 screens WITHOUT HUD.I have some notes at Stars though and I know some players but in Full Tilt I am completely at dark.Everything is going to Hell, but who said that the road to redemption is easy?I spend many hours with my PC and I have started to get tired a lot,but I am still here fighting because that is what the winners do!
