Yea that area is pretty nice actually, Macks is really close to the Gran Hotel (or whatever it's called, the one with the 2 big towers) and that hotel has a good restaurant IIRC and they also have a really cool, nice, classy bar called 'Clasico' that's a ton of fun, especially on weekends. Always a good crowd and there's a dress code so you get rid of some unwanted folks that you see around the clubs on avenida revolucion.

I'd definitely be down for a Xolos game, think it would be really fun....chances we'd be the only white people in the crowd?

I do have full-time places in both cities. It's about 25 minutes door-to-door driving into Mexico in the morning or early afternoon. Driving back, add anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes depending on time of day and week. I have the Sentri Fast Pass - you apply at the GOES website, wait for 4 months to pass a background check, then you can schedule your appointment. After that, pass is good for 5 years.

I've been secondary searched driving into Mexico about 6 times, for a combined total of about 15 minutes (trunk pop). They're always very friendly and professional. Driving North, I've gotten secondary searched 3 times for a combined total of about 90 minutes. Probably done about 60 (?) roundtrips so far. If the US guys ask why I'm in Mexico, I just say something to the effect of, "I play online poker, so I have to do so from Mexico because I can't access the major sites from the US." One guy even asked if I was doing that from Rosarito, so he was obviously clued in.

There's thousands of people who live in TJ and work in SD every day, so what I do isn't uncommon, just a reverse commute.

I went with two gringo friends to a game in November, and we were...pretty much the only white people there. Thousands of Americans travel South every game though. Was like a college football atmosphere, in a 22,000 seat stadium. Lots of families and friendly people, some interesting culinary options, and cheap beer. Was pretty cool.

$50k $EV swings (or times 2 ) are going to be semi-common with the high stakes I'm mixing in - just glad the SNE RB and mixing in a lot of lower really smooths things out a bit.

39, for a little longer. I got the nickname "Gramps" b/c I got my front tooth knocked clean out taking a charge in a pickup BBall game (lolol) on my 20th birthday. After some dental adventures, they gave me a retainer with a fake tooth for 2 months before putting a permanent Bridge in. It was easier to hang out without that giant piece of plastic in my mouth. Couple friends pointed out that I looked like a Grandpa, and the name was born (and stuck).

My favorite is when a friend gets a new girlfriend, and after 6-12 months she goes to introduce me to someone and realizes....she doesn't know my real name. Pretty much only my Parents call me by that.

Do you think the addition of the bigger hypers (rumors), will make the games a lot better at the 200 level? Or, do you think there wont be enough volume at the 300 or 500s that it wont matter too much?

I have it so 16 tables will load 4X4. I've gotten up past that a few times the last couple of days when games start popping in bunches since I play so many different games/buyins. That's a bit too much for my brain though, I like thinking for a few seconds to be sure I read the variables correctly.

Sometimes I take a mid-session break and play down to 2-6 for a stretch. Probably 10-12 is my comfort point and then I really gotta super-concentrate, and still might be losing edge.

Another meh wild variance ~BE redline day. Feel pretty good b/c my Heads Up $EV bb/100 is loltardasticallybad right now. A lot of that is just loldistributiontop15%outof70%+everytimeIplayback, and some is me shaking out the cobwebs and playing like a tard against the players/ranges I'm up against, so I'll probably take a closer look at some things and try to get un-rusty. Think I did some good things there to up my overall $EV the 2nd half of last year.

I did run above $EV today (barely ). I do pay attention to redline as a barometer of the games I'm playing in, but I'm not going to dwell on it too much in this thread going forward (hopefully ). If it's plummeting, I take breaks and re-evaulate, even if it can just be simple card distribution (and you can play awful in awful games and have it go up). The negative feedback gets my stubborn competitive side in check better than anything else.

Played a bunch of reggy Turbos to get a BOP high score for Jupiter. Add a nice hot run for my 1st 20 and should get some good high stakes-subsidy $$ from that. I'll happily be one of the 10-20 people Stars splits $10k/week amongst, even if I think it's a bad system and should be changed to aid the overall health of the SNG ecosystem.

Taking off about 48 hours, should be back at it Sunday night. 43k VPPs.

I know you high stakes regs are dead against strategy advice (which I agree with) but could you give a glimpse on a typical way you go about analyzing your play when studying your tournament history's? I always run a few thru universal replayer but I'm never sure what I should be looking for haha

I dunno, figure out what people do - where, when and why, then adjust? (Hopefully with a modicum+ of accuracy) I don't have any special tools or tricks, though there's still a ton I can learn and improve on IMO. That's kind of the fun/awesome part of it.

I'm really intrigued about the possibility of living in America (at least a % of the time) and continuing to play online poker. How are you splitting your time between the two places? And how do you like TJ?

I mostly just spend time in my apt. in TJ - I make food in SD and bring it to "work" with me. Though there's nice enough areas in TJ to get out and about in, esp. if your Spanish is decent.

You could either commute daily (in which case TJ would be >>> better), or commute for several days at a time, in which case I'd personally drive the extra 20-25 minutes to Rosarito.

Souls are overrated anyhow. The games are gross right now, and a bunch of people aren't even playing yet, so this should get fun.

So lazy at 2+2 these days I almost missed this.
