My name is George and I primarily play small stakes on Stars under you-mad-br0. I also make videos for Cardrunners under the same name, where I've just renewed my contract. I have a degree in economics, which I currently make no use of.

I'm not going to go too much into a backstory, if you google you can find my blog which I update occasionally if you care enough, but I've played small stakes for a while now, and don't really plan/ have any desire to move up much anymore. I find that playing higher tends to impact my day to day life (be it winning or losing), much more than I'd like poker too, and the fact that 10% of your volume can cause such massive swings just isn't for me, but big respect to all the heroes out there who do it. And as the thread title says, people don't seem all too positive about the future of poker at the moment, so I guess it's time to concentrate on being professional and making as much as I can at the stakes I am confident playing.

Whole database atm;

Anyway, the idea of this thread is to motivate me to actually put some hours in to poker instead of just taking it for granted. I'm going to start off with setting some goals for June, inside and outside of poker.

Poker
  • 50k hands minimum
  • 1 Coaching Video
  • No timbeys
  • No more than 10k hands at 200z+

Outside of Poker

I'm approx 11 months post ACL and LCL (ligaments in the knee) reconstruction, and finally at the stage where I can start playing sport properly again. So I'll probably be updating a lot with my progress on this too, as I'm hoping to do a ski season in Whistler next year with my gf, so fairly crucial for me to be in peak condition by then.
  • At least 30 minutes exercise every day
  • Bouldering once a week
  • Leg strength work once a week
  • Rebounding (mini trampoline) 10mins p day
  • Ski once before months end
  • 5k in under 20:40

So I'll aim to update daily ala my buddy BenaBadBeat, and provide hh, graphs, and probably whatever exercise I did too to hold myself accountable. Also if anyone wants to follow me on twitter; https://twitter.com/George_ymb
I boom hands fairly often that I find funny.

I'll leave with some pictures from my recent holiday to Crete, and obviously a freeroll;

First five posters ITT get $20 freeroll on my 50k hands in June, next 5 after that get $20 freeroll on the no timbeys goal

Thanks for the complement, and yeah I meant just don't play too much zoom. I've never really got to grips properly with the dynamic and it just tilts me a bit somehow everytime!

            For my exercise goal today I went on a run round the golf course, pretty hilly up there so fairly happy with it. Knee still twinges a bit but I'm only just getting back into running so to be expected I guess;

            Also IRL news today I watched the Brexit debate and just got absurdly tilted by both sides. Major issue with political system that you are rewarded so hard for saying things that get votes and there's not a big enough disincentive to stop campaign just outright lying about some things. (if the public can't understand the counterproofs, then you'll get away with any claim!)
            Obviously I don't know of any better system, and actually enjoyed watching Nicola shut Boris up a couple of times, so guess TV debates do have something going for them.

            Also, monthly graph so far;
