Big mistake as a newbie to start with 6max hypers.

Start with full ring cash or 180s. Regardless of how many great poker friends you have there is just no upward mobility and the skills won't be of any use to you if you don't know decent 100bb poker if god forbid the format ever dies down.

Pick a slower format you like, get a runitonce basic subscription, watch videos and post hands there on the forum.
I promise you if you don't you'll get burned out fast on this specific format.

Good luck tho and defo keep the pictures coming /pervmodeoff

^ , you'll learn way more about poker in MTT sng's / Cash than you will in 6 max hypers. It's more of a niche.

Don't shove K4o 15.4bb deep hu, it's not even nash shove and usually there are better options than nash above 7bb deep. Around 15bb deep you can limp a ton and stab almost any flop (including K4o).
Can't comment on the rest, not a 6 max player. Take a look at nash charts for shallow play hu to get an idea what you can shove/call, but avoid using nash above 10bb at least, limping becomes pretty awesome 10-16bb deep.
Good luck!

I've actually started mixing in a really low concentration of $15 6max hypers, just for the fun of it more than anything else, but yeah, I basically play exclusively turbo's. I've written a tonne on strategy from blog posts, website articles and just my own ramblings so I can fire some stuff your way. It won't be relevant to hyper turbo's but a lot of the theory cross applies and will get you thinking about some concepts more than anything.

In the meantime, I'll throw in some articles I found particularly useful so be sure to take a look:

http://www.philgalfond.com/poker-and-your-life/ - this is basically gold

http://www.philgalfond.com/quick-upd...-poker-player/

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/18...-poker-671391/ - this is pretty old but this initial post has some good stuff, learning that you suck is a good thing! I'm sure Drunk will enjoy this post

http://www.quora.com/What-is-it-like...d=Xxfo&share=1

http://www.twoplustwo.com/magazine/i...od-for-you.php - why the hell not!

That should provide you with enough fun in the meantime, anything else just hit me up!
Mikey, That is awesome that you come back to Budapest!!!
The good times can continue! I kinda started to really like grinding so it will be fun if we will grind together too! We ordered 2 sick healthy herman miller aeron chairs and a table which goes up and down with a button so we are just about it! Now we are grinding too and James is at his 5th final table now and one of them was win in $100!

Unfortunately the internet went out some days ago so we grind from my phone but if we will have back the internet I will immediately will check all the pages that you have sent to me so thank you!!!

Not to rain on your parade but please read these threads too before moving forward with your plans:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...ebull-1385297/

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...ypers-1403084/

All the same guy but it shows the flipside of the coin and how hard of a format it truly is to master for someone with no prior poker experience.

Do yourself a favour and play 6max turbos, or 9max turbos, or 18m turbos or even 9max hypers but don't put yourself through the hellhole that is 6max hypers.

If you do however continue on this path please don't stop posting when you inevitably crash and burn in this particular format.

In the off chance you manage to become profitable at the 30s (living wage ish) you may rub this post in my face and I'll gladly apologize for ever doubting you.

I'm not saying you can't be a profitable poker player but right now you seem like a happy go lucky girl and I'd hate to see the life sucked out of you by the 100s of hours you'll need to spend on icm software and the 49% of days that you'll get your ass kicked by this particular niche.

I've said my piece and will be supportive and positive from this moment on ;-)

Having coached players with zero poker experience in the past, I actually think its a really good idea to start with hypers and master the short stack game FIRST, then moving up to bigger stacked games. (Although I dont know about 6max hypers as I was coaching HU players and we started with HU hypers which are great for learning the <30bb game.)
The benefits are that you can focus on beating the easiest solved part of the game, get some confidence and THEN start learning deeper stacks knowing that if ever the stacks in that game get shallow you'll be back in your comfort zone.

Just going straight into 100bb games as a new player will be totally overwhelming so I approve of OP's gameplan. Hypers are one of the easiest forms of poker to learn but there is still months of learning to do there before you do anything else.

I have to echo Jax here unfortunately.

I know Bea really well from real life and she is legit the most happy person you will meet. Hypers are so swingy its so hard to really not let it effect you, especially if you're new to poker. For somebody to leave a job and then come and be a hyper pro its so difficult to comprehend the variance and if you start your poker career losing 49% of days its going to have a really bad effect on the way you feel about life.

Moving forward stars are perhaps likely to bin/kill hypers and then you need to learn to play deep stack poker which is going to take so long to do.

If your ambition isn't to make $1m/year and just to get a good salary from something that you enjoy doing and helps with your life then I would just learn cash games, the nl50/100 games are very soft, especially if you learn and have the desire (which you definitely do) if you really want to give up your job and learn to be a professional and use your savings etc I really believe hypers is a bad route to take.

Maybe I am missing things though, and everything people have said is true, hyper players generally are very good, but we have a very unique case here of somebody who becomes a poker professional overnight without any experience, I really do think you can succeed but choosing the right decision initially is going to be so important.

Hi there!!

So here are my updates!

From the beginnings I had 1 lesson a week which was about 5 hours long. By the time it wasn't effective for me. Between 2 lessons I played almost every day 20-40 tournaments and I started to pick up bad habits bc I didn't know all of my mistakes obv. It started to be very miserable that I don't have enough often lessons so since the 11th of December it changed!!

I have almost every day 2 hours long lessons and I have to play 40 games a day. Except for Sunday cause on Sunday I have to play 60 games. Here are the good news: It really works!!!
My game improved I think pretty nicely with this way of learning. Last Sunday I managed to play 82 tournaments!

Here are my results since the 11th of Dec:

I wanna really thank to those who took the time to think about my situation in poker!!! I decided to stick to 6max hypers cause I have the best source for this game and I wanna be good first in a game and after to learn something new. I really like the HU part in my games so later (or not so much later) I think I wanna learn and play HU!

For those who are with me and cheer to me: GIANT HUGE THANK YOU!!!!
I will keep going!!!!

Good job Bea!

For HU you can use NASH ( http://www.holdemresources.net/h/poker-theory/hune.html )

James will explain this to you a lot better than I can here, But pretty much you it under like 10bb, since there is more +EV plays deeper..

Keep it up!

If you have any headsup questions always feel free to ask me on skype as well!

Thank You Konrad!!!

Yeah for HU I use nash, but when it comes to HU I don't really have time for checking it, so I gotta be better at it!
I will ask you on skype about situations!

Happy New Year!!!!

First of all these are my resolutions for 2015 about poker

1. being a $30 reg in 6max hyper turbo sngs
2. make a living with poker
3. being a supernova.

For January my goals are:

1. to play on 4 tables
2. to play 60 tournaments a day
3. move up to the end of the month for $3.50
4. to be a silverstar.

So I started 2015 with a decent working day!

I played 100 tournaments and I played on 4 tables cause I knew that I will feel better if I spend the 1st of January useful.

Here are my graphs and results of it:

I hope you guys also have your resolutions and will be successful by achieving them!!!!
