Can Australians still play on some sites? Global Poker is based in Australia for example. Can we use Bitcoin and get a VPN and use with less known sites? I'm also trying to get my head around it...

Cheers. I've figured it out with some help and reading. Money--> Bitcoin exchange --> Bitcoin wallet --> Poker site (Winning poker network is good because HM2 is supported) --> Bitcoin wallet --> Bitcoin exchange--> My bank.

I've emailed sites straight up and they have openly said they are happy to offer their services to Australians. Boom. Feels like a win.

Hopefully you catch Bitcoin on one of those intra-day 30% upswings and not a 30% downswing. Kinda makes the poker results irrelevant. Just need to run good in those days that your money is stuck in Bitcoin!

Yeah be super careful when you deposit and withdraw if going the BTC line... I'd recommend avoiding online poker in AUS entirely. Hugely precarious to be playing on sketchy sites that still offer an AUS market, no guarantee they'll pay out if the government decides to go after them, etc.

Live is very beatable but imo if online is for you, go to SEA and just crush lol

No, online sites that still offer to AUS will pay out in Bitcoin because they'd rather have people play on their site and keep a good reputation. They are not sketchy just because they want to continue to offer poker to all people across the globe. It's the opposite. They are the good guys fighting against the villain that is our control-freak-government who are trying to take away basic freedoms. Besides, how can the government go after them? They have no assets in Australia and the Australian government has no authority to prosecute in other countries. So I don't see it.

I think the bill was formed so that AUS govt can go after offshore providers with litigation. But all that aside, what I meant was that be careful with "WHEN" you deposit because BTC can swing like crazy in 24 hour spans.

So your winnings are subject to further variance in the form of BTC price too.

But all the best man, can't hurt continuing to play for the time being.
