Starting BR: 50$
Current BR: ~118$

~ 800 hands
~ +17$

Moved up the blinds to 4nl for the first time. This also means this is the highest BR I have had yet in this challenge.

Had a couple of sessions in between which were decent. Put in ~800 hands so far today for +~12$

Pretty happy with the result but today could have been a huge day. Two absolute bad beats, my AA vs KK preflop all in and my 2p on flop vs tp on flop got a guy to commit his entire stack on flop but he drew out on me. With those two pots could have had a session upwards of 25$. Oh well...

Current BR: ~138$

Been smooth sailing since I got back to the game. My preflop game is getting stronger and Im really happy with that. I am not putting in enough time to studying the game these days though which Im a little disappointed about. I have a TON of work to do on my post flop game. At the moment my postflop play isnt getting too exposed and Im taking a safety first approach in my preflop play to avoid tough situations post flop but I know theres a lot of work to do. Im just content with winning at the moment and thats pathetic.

Had an amazing few days since my last update but the last few have been quite rough. Its really brutal when things start going bad they just all go bad at once. Even though Im up from last time I am down 4-5 buyins in the last few sessions. Partly because of spewy play but mainly because I feel like I cant catch a break. My draws are almost always missing and Im in that phase where you feel every draw is going to hit vs you and every KK hand 4-5 bet preflop i make lands with a ace high flop. I keep getting into really good spots, isolating the fish etc but the very hands which would previously connect seem to consistently be missing. At the moment, Im trying to tighten things just a bit until I feel I have gained some momentum at the same time Im having faith in my "technique" and persisting with the way which has got me thus far.

Also picked up the grinders manual again today and will be working through that over the next few days.

Good to see you're doing good bro.
(I'm not btw :-D )
4-5 BIs is just a typical lossing session for me so no biggy to me(again, I'm not doing good, so don't listen to me :-D )
Not hitting flops with AK high IP to a ni folder fish that you just isolate is devastating I know(trust me!) but it's poker. Cold deck and bad run of the cards happen.
When you feel it's bothering you mentally, just take a break(Don't be me! Duh...)
Come back again, and you will be good.

Abou the grinders manual, it's a nice peace of work but the last couple of sessions gets really into math and balancing stuff that I don't think will aply to 50NL and blow. So be carefull not to overload yourself with them. Just finished the book 3 4 days ago.

Going to have to put poker on the back burner again which kinda sucks because I'm feeling real good right now. One of the great surprises I got when starting again a couple of weeks ago were the 4NL tables BOL recently started. It was perfect timing because I was around the 100$ mark with my BR and after a bit of a warm up in the 2nl game I was able to jump right into the 4nl!

Heres my month so far:

2NL - 1k hands - 36bb/100
4NL - 10k hands - 15bb/100
10NL - 1.5k hands - 33bb/100

The bulk of the hands have been in 4NL. As you can see Im trying to make a slow steady progression into 10NL. At the moment I usually fire up a 10NL table only when there are not enough 4NL games on or if the 4NL games are entirely reg infested. Usually Ill fire up 3 tables of 4NL and 1 10NL. This allows me to not get overwhelmed by the higher blinds and I keep playing my standard 4NL game on 10NL for the most part.

I have in all played about 12k hands at 20bb/100 across all 2/4/10NL this month. My sample sizes are really small unfortunately because I am only playing max 5 tables at a time. I have in the past played more then 2-3 times this number of tables but I find it far more profitable for myself and my decision making to be able to play 4-5 tables but be able to pay close attention to the players, table select, and isolate the fish and also the kind of bad regs at the table. I am so tempted to increase the number of tables but I know it will really hurt my win rate and I might go in the negative. So as it seems Ill continue at this snails pace but hopefully keep moving forward.

That's good news.
You going up to 10NL AND BOL running 4NL 6max. Didn't know that.. Would be good to take a shot.
Very happy about the results. And I agree on limited amount of tables.
My sweet spot is 6 tables and no more..(my monitor didn't sllow me more than 6, so I got a second one and played 10 tables for a few sessions, disaster!)
Keep up the good work.
GL in the journey.
