Hello twoplustwo!

I'm in need of a bankroll to play online. Because of this I'm going to attempt to turn my current 10$-bankroll into 1000$ by the end of the week. The main reason I'm posting this challenge is to motivate myself to play these microstakes. If you are interested to read about my progress that's great too.

Wish me luck and tell me what you think. I'm heading to the tables... And I'll keep you updated.

PS: I'm new to this forum, so be kind

I'm currently 5tabling 2NL, so my entire roll is in play. I know it's a quite agressive BRM, but what can you do with 10$, huh? I think that I have a big enough edge on 2NL to take this risk early on.

Been playing poker since april 2011. I have previously been a MTT and SNG player. Mainly SNG the last year. The peak of my poker-carreer came when i won 12500$ in a 11$+R tourney. I'm making the transition to cash-games just now. Spent quite some time watching videos on www.bluefirepoker.com lately. I believe it has helped my game. Hopefully my post-flop game will shine with more cash-game play.

Ok, so first 24 hours are up. Results are pretty bad... Went up and down between 6$ and 10$ for several hours yesterday. Ended up at $7.23 before i fell asleep.

Woke up now in the middle of the night (01.45 CET). Breakfast consisted of yoghurt, banana and ice coffee. Hopefully this will keep me focused for some hours. I think the challenge will be very difficult to complete if i do not manage to reach 40$ today. I'll keep you posted

After some grinding at 2NL i managed to run my bankroll up to $18.51 Plan is to reach $25 asap, and then grind the $0.50 45-man turbo SNG's.

Totally off topic: "Ms. Hill" by Talib Kweli is completely stuck in my mind.

Running good now! Lucky enough to get it all in AA vs KK preflop (6$ pot). This, among other wins, brings my roll up to $25.21. Time to grab some food, before i go play the 0.50$ SNG's. Figuring 50BI's should do on 45-man SNG's at these stakes. Finally i feel like my roll is big enough to make my bankroll management somewhat safe.

Not sure how often these SNG's start, but I'll be looking to get 100 games in by the end of the day.

Woah... These $0.50 SNG's are just so unbelievably boring to grind. I'm neither winning nor having fun. Down to $20.13 now. I guess I'll go back to 2NL cashgames...

I did this challenge on partypoker... played only nl2 short stack and made like 140$ in 50k hands.. so it's doable, you just have to keep tilt less and grind hard . GL with this, will follow.

Been making great progress now. I have reached $43.28 allready. Superb to pass my goal of $40 by the end of the day! Now it's time to watch some episodes of 24 season 5, and then make dinner.

2NL cashgames has been very profitable for me today! Very satisfied to reach $52.29. It's more than I expected. Allthough day 1 was bad for me, I feel like I managed to make up for it now. In my opinion I'm somewhat in pace for my weekly $1000 goal.

Now it's time to get a good night sleep, and then get back on the grind tomorrow

Good morning twoplustwo! I'm even dreaming about poker nowadays. To wake up by my self after barely 6 hours of sleep is rare for me. I think it's a sign of the excitement this challenge brings me. Breakfast consists of yoghurt, banana, ice coffee - just like yesterday. Feeling fresh and ready to grind!

Read some of the other threads in the PGC-forum, and I realized very many of the others are posting graphs of their progress. I'm thinking I should do this too, but I lack the software. Because of this i decided to buy holdemmanager. It's probably an investment I should have made long ago anyway. But yeah... Graphs are being posted from now on. Yay!

Today I'm looking to get to $125. Going to take shots at 5NL with my 10BI bankroll. I'm prepared to move back down if i lose a couple of BI's. Hopefully that won't happen. Prepared to shoot away from the starting line and never look back.

Spent some time trying to get HoldemManager to work. It was a problem with my postgreSQL connection. Eventually solved the problem, and started playing. As mentioned, it's time to take shots at NL5. Started out 6-tabling. Went well, so I began 9-tabling, to increase the volume. Not very familiar with HoldemManager yet, but managed to get the graph from this session.

Will be looking to get in a couple of thousand more hands later today. Now it's time for "lunch".

Had been somewhat harrassing this player with 3bets, so I expected him to fight back/hold on. Not too much to say about the hand I guess. I put him on some JT kind of a hand. The river is kind of bad for me, because I think he thinks that it hits at least some of my range (AK, KQ, KXs, etc.). Decided to shove anyways, because I think he will find a herocall with a jack a decent % of the time. What I find interesting about this hand is my river sizing. Should i bet like 1.80$ instead? I'll probably get a call more often, but less value. Also, I'm wondering about what he most likely will interpret as strongest. The small valuebet or the shove? I suspect that he doesn't think people vbet bluff too often at these stakes. That said, I think a small bet would tempt him a lot. As it is, he went into a big tank before finally folding his hand. Maybe both sizes have aproximately the same EV. Tell me what you think

Edit: Maybe I should bet bigger on the turn, to leave him with less of a stack on the river?

I don't think shoving that river is a good idea unless you have an aggro monkey image. If you appear TAGGY and villain is kinda bad, you can value bet it for at least half pot imo.

Been a slack day. Couldn't stay awake, so went back to bed. Then I watched Real Madrid vs. Manchester United. Then I went on to play some CS-mixes. Now it's time to get back to this challange, and finish day 3 successfully.
