I've stopped following Brexit/politics completely now, so hopefully once I get over the three day hump I'd like to think I'll be less tilted and angry wrt other aspects in my life.

His cold call is fine considering that he wants to play a pot with the fish IP, but not making a lot of money, and if he screws up, this could easily turn very -ev, better to fold imo.

Thought I would chime in with regards to the above. When I was 14-18 I read the newspaper/news/followed politics on a daily basis. I found myself becoming an extremely cynical/negative/"how can this be happening" kind of person. This I imagine is largely due to the news often having a negative tone and alongside that I rarely spent much of my time reading positive things.

Now of course everyone is different and there is still definite value to reading the news but ever since I took the "there's so much out of my control I'm just going to focus on a few things" line and drastically cut my consumption of mainstream news I've found myself in a much happier state.

I think to play good quality poker, pretty much all other aspects of your life have to be going fairly well otherwise it will just lead to some external form of accumulation tilt which will lead to quite big mistakes on the felt.

        But it's sooted!

The cold call is just fine, it's likely even a small to small-medium winner long term. W/ your small 3bet and 29% cbet (~std, I assume) it's a very good drawing spot for him, although I understand your sizing strategy and pros to it as well.

Imo, he could've raised turn because you're very set-heavy by the turn and it's a spot he can get money in good while denying potential FH and big spades (AsKs most notably) getting there.

Live an optimal lifestyle. Cheap-fix or solve anything that pisses you off in a more sophisticated manner. You're the man. You're marvelous.

Just solve 'em one at a time and remember you solved it and don't let them bother you anymore, whatever it is. Some of things that bother you may require new skills in another domain or different lifestyle, make a plan, obtain fixes in a smooth, optimal way.

Lastly, some problems get fixed the best if you just outsource them.

Fish wasn't even that juicy and the reg was in the co. Otb you can maybe justify it, but on the co with three regs behind? Cmaaaan.

Yea, Brexit has been doing my head in for the last 2 years. I'm certain that I'd have more money now than I do had I just completely ignored what was happening from the start. Both from the $$$ it has costed me by making me more susceptible to tilt when grinding and because I've been wasting 10+ hours a week on it which I could spend doing things more productive/fun. I'm done with it until it's all finally over.

Yea thanks. Definitely agree that I need to spend my free time doing more +ev things.

Done for the month. Didn't play today, just cleaned me room and napped for a couple hours. Really hope I can fix my schedule and wake up at 8:30am tomorrow. Definitely want to have really try wakign up between the hours or 8am and 9am everyday in June to see if makes any difference in my moral/ work ethic.

Still can't import my hands but if I had to guess I'd say down $1.5k-$2k for the month at poker.

Side hustle still going okay though.

        June Goals:

Zero politics. No PMQs, FMQs, QT, TBQ ect...
        More poker and more study
Wake up between 8am and 9am everyday
Zero Ice-cream, chocolate, sweets or fast food.
Complete Exercise routine at least 22 days out of 30
Make an effort to greatly improve my German grammar and not just vocab
Make £1000 from the side hustle
Finally get the blog up and running
        Get those hands imported?

My sleep schedule is wrecked right now, but hopefully during today instead of sleeping 8 hours I can do a 2-3 hour nap and then have enough energy to last until midnight so that I can wake up at 8am tomorrow ready to grind through the month!

Remember that your circadian clock operates by light stimulus more than anything else. Try getting a consistent spike in daylight by going outside for 15 mins when the alarm rings. Sunglasses not allowed.

I struggle too and don't always live by these words but without fail a reasonable number of consecutive mornings of outside activity sets me straight.

Rough month poker wise, here’s hoping for a better June.

Wrt avoiding politics I think it’s a good idea. I got quite interested in politics during year12/13 and ended up becoming so cynical and miserable. This probably wasn’t only down to being more politically aware but it definitely contributed. Now I just prefer to take things as they come and am much more tolerant which seems a better way to approach things.

I’m still curious on the side hustle income, able to DM if you don’t want to post it on here?

        How’s the German coming along?
        06-01-2018 , 06:36 AM
First of all good luck with everything because you are a true grinder.
Big respect for your mental skills, staying sober one year and now no sweets stuff etc.

And yeah its god damn hard to change the day night rhythm when you had grinded for years at night. Me for example still have the inner clock focked up. For example at midnight im in my peakhour or even if I had a long day I wake up at midnight and get a boost.

But you are absolutly right Human creatures are not made to work at night. We need sun for the health and energy (Edinburgh?Hrhrhr).

Why the hell learning german? It's a ugly useless language in the world. Better spanish for southamerica, or french or italian in my opinions the sexiest languages.

anyways good luck for you because you are hard grinder with the work ethic.

Mate, I live in Scotland. Getting 15 minutes of sun a day isn't always in our control.

German is coming along good mate! 334day streak on Duolingo. Like I said earlier, I want to get better at the grammar and not just focus on vocab which is all the Duolingo app is pretty much good for.

Personally I've always found German a very sexy sounding language when a girl is speaking it. It's a very clinical sounding language and I've always had a penchant for Ice Queens rather than girls who are always happy/bubbly 24/7.

Also the writing is on the wall for clever, middle-class young people in the UK that **** is going to hit the fan soon and so I'm expanding my options for escape plans.

Right. Scrubbed my pc (was able to keep some files) and now it looks like my HM2 is FINALLY fully functioning again. I lost all my HUD settings, so I'll need to spend time tonight and tomorrow rebuilding it from scratch, perhaps a blessing in disguise!?

Looks like my pio is now gubbed as I'd need to put in the activation code to download it again and I've already used the code they sent me in my original purchase twice . I'll send the support team an e-mail detailing my situation and see if I can get a discount or something.

Actually I just watched the quick start video I was sent in the email for pio and followed it the actions he took and now I have my pio back and running! Happy days!

Amount of games running at 100 and 200 fr has gotten so low at times that I'm now mixing in 50nl and 400nl to get in volume. Maybe I'll try and learn how to play 6max for the 100th time.

Tomorrow will be my second rest day of the month. 7/8 days so far is really good and I'm sure my little belly will get a lot more toned if I keep that pace up. Also been eating completely clean so far as well, no junk food whatsoever!

Should definitely play 6m man. Swings obviously slightly more, but it’s waaay more fun and profitable. With a little bit of work you should be able to print at 100nl 6m + more hands per hour = many more dollars in your bank.

Hmu if you wanna chat bout transitioning - might be able to give you some tips given I played millions of FR hands before shifting to the dark side!

This, also fr skills are important at 6max, the biggest mistake a fr player makes when moving to 6-max is thinking everyone is super aggro and capable of bluffing a lot. Everyone is still a nit lol.

Also, it does seem like a lot of FR guys are making the switch atm, so now is as good as any to make the switch especially with the FR traffic being wank.

Definitely not nearly as nitty as some fr regs though lol

Woke up at 10am today so the dream of going a month on the 8am-9am wake up schedule is over

Still going to do my best for the rest of the month though.

Lol, you would be surprised to see how nitty some people play at 50z-200z, also fish/semifish underbluff a lot in some spots, and I see a lot of regs making terrible calls vs them, so by having that fr background you probably will be fine.

The thing I see fr regs struggling a lot when moving to 6max is to not valuebet thin enough and end up overbluffing because of that, since its expected to get more FE at a fr table, like not valuebetting river after 3bet, bet, bet, KQ sb vs btn on K2577 board.

Yea not value betting thin enough is probably the most prominent fr player leak.

Going to go the full on volume route playing any good game from 50nl-400nl for the rest of the month. If I don't see the results at the end of the month that I was hoping for then I'll just have to start learning 6max. Sucks that it has to be this way but there's just not enough fr volume at 100nl+ anymore.
