Got a little bit of a side hustle on the go right now, which takes up a bit of time each day, but I definitely do want to make a late push at putting in decent volume throughout the rest of the month.

Nah, it's nothing illegal. Might talk about it in depth itt when I start making a bit more money from it.

Tried to make an online transaction this morning, but my bank had declined the request and simultaneously froze my account. When I phoned up the bank's fraud support they told me that I had to go and verify my identity in person at my local branch. Those of you living in Scotland and or rest of the UK will know that banks have been closing left, right and centre here so my "local" branch was about a 30 min bus ride away.

It was an absolute ball ache, but everything is sorted now, and it's at least a valid excuse for my weak volume today.

Wow I'd hate to live somewhere so remote if the closest bank is 40 mins away. When I had a live player schedule I couldn't even make it to the bank 15 mins walk away :/

There was literally 4 banks within a 20 minute walk away from me less than 2 years ago. They've all closed now. It's all done online now, you know? Unless of course you are minding your own business, making an online transaction and they decide to freeze your account and insist you verify your identity in person

And oh to be 15 again lol

QQ seems like a much better call, but I never believe these guys that employ the lrr strat. No matter how many times in a row they show up with AA

on h1 jamming vs fish ott is usually better than bet-folding imo
On h2 if youre bluffing vs fish you chose the right sizing to do so, but A9hh has bad removal and can win at showdown sometimes, better to bluff with hands with no sdv

I feel like I can comment on this because Ive become a bit of an expert in this area haha:

if you quit because you felt your play degrading and you weren't playing to your standard anymore then quitting is not a mental game leak. But it does raise the question of if your game is degrading as soon as you start losing back a nice little upswing during any given session. That could be a mental game leak itself

If you quit simply because you were winning and then started losing without any change to your play (important to understand the difference between change in short term variance and change in the game you're putting forward) then this could be a mental game leak for sure, but is more of a result/symptom of a mental game issue, not the actual issue itself.

glgl on your grind and I like your thread! are these zoom or reg tables? We may have played the odd hand together but I haven't been putting much volume in on stars lately. Cheers!

Pretty meh month both volume and $$$ wise. Got a few days to make up for that so I'll definitely put in a bit of graft this weekend.

No poker yesterday, as the thought of having a night out in Stirling with mates was just too much.

As some of you know, I'm on a one year abstinence from alcohol. So even though it was great to have a have a laugh with friends it was definitely a bit of a bummer that I was drinking glasses of water throughout the night.

We did eventually go to a pub called "The Boozy Cow" which did have these available for me:

Not really much of a beer guy, but these were pretty good.

The best thing about not drinking on a night out (for me at least) is that there's no hangover the following day. Which is awesome, because I'm really pumped to put in a grind today!

That 99 hand I would raise on the flop and bomb that turn. Your hand is very vulnerable to turn and river cards. Raise it up! Good luck man.

If you're playing your range instead of your hand, you're not making this pot huge otf and bombing turn.

99 hand is a good x/c otf imo because it's jgoot to have some strong hands in your xing range. And also because if you're getting in 99 otf here you're getting it in vs mostly just QQ or JT if its vs a reg (which I thought he was at the time)

                                                      April:

Made £330 from my side hustle as well.

I purposely decided not to add a freeroll this month to see what my volume would be when I'm not under pressure to achieve a target. I'm not too disappointed with the volume though tbh as I'm spending an hour or so on my side hustle each most days, and I've been doing about an hour of exercise 5 days a week since the start of this month as well.

My goals for May is to continue exercising 5 days a week, keep up with the side hussle, start a blog on wordpress/blogger, and make sure I don't completely neglect the studying aspects of poker. Still too often I'll just spend 100% of my poker time just grinding, which is obviously not the smart thing to do.
