Fulfilling My Potential - Tuesday 26th September 2017

Poker Successes

1. Play 120 minutes - 10/10 (played the maximum time with still taking some short breaks)

2. Check raise good spots - 9/10 (got carried away with one spot)

3. Cbet turn more - 7/10 (more than ever but sure I can do more)

Poker Fails

1. Study 120 minutes - 2/10 (did 90 minutes, mostly out of my hands but excuses can GTFO)

---

IRL Successes

1. Give family 100% - 8/10. (Had to spend some time with my son as we have a lot to talk about! Did couple of menial chores)

2. Sugar free day! - 10/10 (Had my moments)

3. Cold shower - 10/10 (6th time)

IRL Fails

1. Exercise - 0/10 (Excuses can GTFO - take responsibility)

---

That was a busy day.

We have got some personal issues at home to work on but it is nothing we cannot handle.

---

Tomorrow...

Check raise like a beast, cbet turn like a beast, cbet river like a beast. Study like crazy. Wing Chun. Prepare really well as time is going to be short. Make sure to write goals out twice per day.

hey man, ive been reading this thread for a while and I root for you, but I gotta say that your study : play ratio is absurd. Unless you play nl500+, you should spend AT LEAST 90% of yor poker time playing. Dry studying combined with too low playing volume can actually make you play worse.

Fulfilling My Potential - 27th September 2017

Poker Successes

1. Play 100+ minutes - 10/10 (Played 121)

2. Check raise! - 10/10 (Checked them and all look good)

3. Cbet more turn/river - 8/10 (Highest numbers yet but lolsample. Not reviewed hands yet)

4. Study 120 minutes - 18/10 (Studied 220 minutes [plus 10 mental game] aka #MASSIVE ACTION)

5. Prepare for session better - 10/10 (and that's how I got 121 minutes in!)

Poker Fails

1. Missed a flop was 3 way not heads up - 0/10 (not sure what to say, hard to be 100% with my schedule but shouldn't do this. 6bb down the toilet)

---

IRL Successes

1. Train Wing Chun - 8/10 (Have to give myself good marks just for getting there in the local traffic! My standard has dropped a lot though, want to improve but too many things???)

2. Write goals 2x per day - 10/10 (Big goals baby! Before work and before bed)

3. Do some chores to help Helen - 8/10 (Wash up, empty dish washer. Small fry really but every second counts ffs!)

4. Cold shower and meditate - 10/10 (Just call me Wim Hof okay!?)

IRL Fails

1. Finish session, cool down and get to bed QUICKLY! - 4/10 (Not good enough, wasted too much time)

---

One of my best days. Kicked the **** out of procrastination. Took #MASSIVEACTION. Fulfilled my potential. Love it.

Tomorrow...

Dentist. Let's see what FEAR has on offer for me there! Study loads. Play as much as possible (target 120 mins but gonna try and stretch it). Fun time with son.

See you in GTORB mates!

Hi! Thanks for rooting for me!!!

I do agree with you to a large extent. I kinda have to do it like this as the time I have available to play at the pc is really limited. For example I can study in my lunch break and before breakfast a little but can't play. Same with if kids are around, studying is just easier then. Basically I do play as much as I can really.

Thanks again!

Fulfilling My Potential - 28th September 2017

Poker Successes

1. Time targets all met - 10/10 (Targets were play 120m, study 120m, mental game 10m, meditate 10m)

2. Take massive action on my study - 10/10 (Target was 120 minutes but did 180 minutes)

3. Check raise more - 10/10 (Highest numbers ever and all look good [to me])

---

Poker Fails

1. Cbet turn/river more - 4/10 (My numbers are increasing but I am still not putting the pressure on enough. Plan is more study of this topic to drill the knowledge home and constant evaluation)

---

IRL Successes

1. Family time - 9/10 (Thursday night the girls are out so I have time with my 6 year old son. We played some great Spiderman games!!!)

2. Help Helen around the house etc - 10/10 (Loads of jobs to help out done!)

3. Write MASSIVE goals out twice per day - 10/10 (Oh yes, they are BIG and they are written out!!!)

---

IRL Fails

1. Appreciate Helen - 1/10 (Simply not good enough MUST sort this out - helping out is one thing but it is not as good as SHOWING it!)

---

Dentist was good and bad! Nothing to do this time but got "several" very old fillings (30+ years) ready to be drilled out and renewed in the near future. Should be fun without anaesthetic! Oh and I didn't poop my pants too bad going there today!

I need to make sure I work on this turn and river cbetting. I think with this leak most of my problem is a lack of knowledge rather than a mental leak but for sure there will be a part of it that is mental. Basically I just need to suck it up and embrace it. Keep evaluating and analysing...

Tomorrow...

Plenty of study lined up (120m) but won't play as we have got something on at the school (Bat Spotting Night) and Father-in-law is over from Macedonia (so beers afterwards!!!).

Have a great weekend amigos!

---

Thought...

Something that all successful people have in common? They all take MASSIVE ACTION...

Wow, no entry for 2 weeks!!!?

Been mad busy.

One of my houses that was let to a small family became empty. Due to dumb taxation law changes in UK I need to change tactic and let it to students anyway so was kind of blessing in disguise (life works like that a lot I find). It is sorted now and couple of students moved in already.

My day job is kinda weird at the moment too. Not going to say much but really can't figure out what is going on there and what the future holds.

Just need to take stock of it. I could go on my own and do the same thing (and almost certainly make a lot more money) but not sure I want to go down that route.

Lots to think about.

Not done much poker stuff. Played some but it has been more to "relax" than a focused practice. Study has been next to zero.

Hoping to get back into it asap but the work situation is using up a lot of my mental energy atm.

Wing Chun is going great. I am definitely considering getting instructor qualification as an option.

Asked a few friends and family what they think I should do / am good at and everyone seems to say that I should do something teaching kids. I tend to agree but not sure what I could teach!

Lots to ponder.

P.S. I bought some kettlebells to start training with!

Then you aren't going to become pro... Your play time has always been far too little to ever have a chance of taking it to the pro level. If you want to become pro you have to put in the hours that pro's do... I.e a full days work playing every day.

You can make excuses about kids, job, lunch break etc which may all be valid reasons but at the end of the day it doesn't matter what your excuse is because you just don't put in the hours.

You go to work from 9-5 presumably in the UK. 30 mins for eating tea, 30 mins for kids leaves 6~ hours of time that you can grind poker to get better and 1~ hour of study.

50% play 50% study is just a bad ratio. You can read all the books you want it isn't as valuable as practising.

I don't understand how you can possibly ever think you can turn pro by putting in 2 hours a day MAX of presumably few tables while college kids out there spend 7 hours+ a day playing.

The wing chun and running while they may be good for you and fun aren't going to help you become pro either and just eat into your potential practising hours.

Still not fully back on the poker bus...

Too much going on with my job and my investments to give it enough attention.

I have still been playing though and when I play I prepare for my sessions properly.

In fact I am possibly playing my best poker in quite some time. I think my mental game has continued to improve during this "quiet" period so I am making better decisions overall. Also some of my recently acquired knowledge is gradually sinking in (at last)!!!

Need to see how the next few days pan out and hopefully I can get back into GTORB a bit and get on with some study.

P.S. Kettlebell training is going pretty well (although I really am weak as hell!) and we went on a short vacation to Legoland last weekend which was TOTALLY AMAZING!!!

Right! I am going to try and get back on track with poker from today.

Here is my planned schedule...

I am not really pushing myself too hard there for the first week back at it mainly because I think I need to gently ease back myself back in.

Will leave mental game work out of it. I am going to study all of the notes from my coaching sessions and get into GTORB a little.

Good luck at the tables amigos! Keep working on YOU!

Well... **** just went backwards/sideways/maybe forwards!!!!

Guys at my work are saying they have heard the owner telling people he is winding the business up over the next 6 months. I actually semi-figured this out but was kinda ignoring it.

I need to fast track some stuff and get up to speed ready for when/if this happens.

Some of you friendly guys out there might be "concerned" or some such but please do not worry. I do have income from houses that I can use. I never used it before (always re-invested) so it is there for back-up.

I have several options open to me and will carefully consider which ones to take. Maybe all of them!

I will keep in touch in here with IRL stuff and when I do play I will post some fun hands.

Cliffs: Slight panic. Nothing to worry too much about. Just need to get my ass into gear.

FWIW...

October

It was a pretty pointless month pokerwise. Too much crap going on at work. Holiday. General "other stuff".

I have already got some exciting stuff in the pipeline though! Rapid income acceleration coming up!!!

Good luck in November amigos!

Holy guacamole!

Can't get a hand at the tables at all!

Well.... I could have maybe played at the weekend but was not in that frame of mind...

On Friday the owner of the company I work for finally admitted that things are not good with the finances. Seems he had to plough some of his own money in just to pay the wages. Not good.

BUT... Could be the best thing to happen to me tbh. I am a little bit "too comfortable" there if you get me!?

Some unfulfilled potential methinks!

Tonight I am taking a lesson to hopefully accelerate my education so if I do suddenly become unemployed I can make some good money!

Wing Chun class first though...

Maybe some hands later but it's kinda doubtful. God I miss you poker!!!

I didn't play for 5 days!

Well... I spent a lot of time talking to a really good player who plays 200z and 500z and he gave me some great advice on some of my leaks and especially my preflop game.

Hopefully he won't mind talking to me a bit more because I learned more in a 2 hour chat with this dude than in God knows how many years of playing/getting coached!

Anyway, jumped onto the tables tonight and played 1 table of Zoom to look at my preflop game...

Maybe I should come back when I have got a decent sample huh!!!!!!!!?????

P.S. I still have a job today. Have to see about tomorrow!!!!!!!

Er yeah, another short session... Basically calming down after another crazy day both at work and at home!

In before #lolsamplesize, #gtfo, #fishonaheater

Staying really positive IRL at the moment. I always believe that nature has its ways and as one door looks like it is about to shut and smash your teeth in another door opens and gently guides you into a place of ABUNDANCE!

130 hands ffs!!!!!!!!! LMAO!

Work is a bit busier these last few days so maybe we will last a bit longer! The underlying problem is still there but the owner cannot see it in front of his face.

Funny thing is that his family are coming out with gems like "we use too much toilet rolls"!!!!!!!

Erm... Yeah, thanks for the input, very useful... Perhaps the fact that you are being paid £20 an hour to talk to your friends on the phone all day might be a bigger issue?????????

After I calmed down last night I played for an hour...

I had a little spell in the middle there where all my 3b and 4b bluffs got called or re-raised and I whiffed etc but other than that it felt pretty damned good!

I read a short article about procrastination yesterday. It was really tip-toeing around the truth (makes people feel good about themselves see)...

In my real world if you procrastinate it is one of these things...

Either...

1. You are a lazy ****!!!!!!!!!!!

or

2. You just don't WANT it enough (and in which case why the hell are you doing it!?)

P.S. Not saying I don't do/be either of those things BUT I don't give it some long word and pussy-foot around the TRUTH!

Have a great weekend amigos. Let me know if you know of any jobs going with decent pay and where toilet roll usage is not an issue!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got another "self help" email today about TIME MANAGEMENT. What the hell is that all about? Oh, stop me before I say it again!!!!!!!

It means you are a lazy **** or you don't want it enough!

Trouble is people spend half their lives reading/watching this **** because it makes them feel like they are doing something!

Get off your ass and GO AND TAKE ACTION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I calm down now.......

Got an hour in late last night but was not in the best frame of mind after another 9 hour shift in the loonie bin!!!!!!!!

I think they are trying to get me to smash their faces in so they don't have to pay redundancy or something!?

It's working!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend amigos!

Believe it or not I am currently at work! On a Saturday morning!? Haven't seen a customer in 4 hours!!!!!!!!

I managed to play a few hands over the weekend...

Graph is a bit off though as it missed a whole 100bb pot off!!!

One that I lost!!!!

I am having a bit of trouble folding lately and am spewing a little with some bluffs. Still that is way more fun than folding all of the time eh!!!???

Not been sleeping too well last few nights. I think it is because my brain is overactive will all the crap going on IRL. I am pretty confident everything is going to turn out just fine so hopefully I will get over that.

Meditation is helping as always but as soon as I start talking about stuff I can feel the anger building up!

I might spend an hour on my kick bag tonight. Draw some faces on it first too!!!

Had a great weekend with my family though. Nothing can affect that!

I ended up missing Wing Chun class last night which is something I HATE doing!

Firstly I wasn't sure whether to go... Work was pretty ridiculous again and I was just not in the mood and wanted to go home and talk to my wife and spend time with the kids.

Secondly on my drive after work I was still unsure. To make the decision easy my wife got stranded a few miles from home in the car with a migraine! This meant she could not see properly to drive so with 2 kids on board she was stuck!!!

It takes me an hour to drive home after work but luckily she felt better after 30 minutes and drove back herself. Otherwise I would have had to dump my car at home and run 15 minutes to get to her to bring them home in her car!

Massive relief! Did not feel like doing that!!!!

So without going to training I put the kids to bed and then did some personal stuff to prepare myself for possible unemployment. I need a bit of cash to invest into myself for this, a bit more than I have stashed around so need to ask a few friends for small favours. I'm good for it!

I played a couple of hours last night. Fired up a few Zoom tables for a bit of fun and a chill...

Running so hot lately!!!

It's a good job as the rest of the day is pretty frustrating lately!!!!!

Got parents evening for my kids tonight at school. Should be fun!!!

Question...

Does anybody else get this every ten minutes..?

I have been getting it a lot lately and have timed out a couple of times restarting the programme.

Being an OAP I am not sure what to do!

Gratitude

I would like to take this opportunity to show my gratitude to the Gods for allowing me to run good so much lately!

I am playing for fun and to relax and seem to be crushing this month!

It is a very small sample as I am not really putting much effort in to it but the buy-ins have been rolling in!!!

I can't imagine how I would feel if I was running bad at the tables just now. I am holding myself back at work all day so that I don't give somebody a pasting so if I got tilted at the tables on top of that I might explode!!!

Last night's small sample...

Long may it continue!!!

Money

I asked about ten people to help me out with some $$$ to buy some software/courses etc for my future exploits and have so far amassed $00.00

It's a funny old world we live in!

Have a good day amigos! I am just nipping out to buy myself a straight jacket...

I (and quite a few others) get those crashes when the CardMatch promo is active - Stars couldn't fix it (not sure they tried), they did add an option to disable CardMatch though (Settings>Gameplay>Advanced> "disable table surfaced side games").

I get it but assumed it was to do with TN2 because it only seems to happen when I move table windows on the screen and they automatically resize. The issue does seem to come and go in phases though so maybe it is Cardmatch that's causing it, I'd just not linked it with that, but I will keep an eye out.

So what's this new opportunity you're trying to borrow the money for?
