Summary for Days 416 --> 410

Graph For Week

Stakes/Sites Played = Partypoker NL10 Fast (88%) & Reg (5%), Microgaming NL10 reg (2%), Stars NL10 Zoom (5%)

Net Profit = +$23.23

Total Profit This Week = +$23.23

Notes
Had a bad tilt session Sunday night and gave myself a serious bollocking for it. That resulted in some negative beliefs creeping in for the first time.

That could be good as maybe I am becoming more attached to the goal - meaning it could be pointing to some degree of not worrying too much before.

To be fair that is my general attitude to life problems but I never really saw it regarding targets before but it definitely could be an issue.

Spent 2 or 3 days getting my mojo back regarding the goal and my future in poker. Was good.

Coach banned me from playing unless in a sweat and we did two sweats together and looked at some hands in replayer. Found some leaks that I did not know about and also a couple of mistakes that I should know of.

I am playing again now but trying to prevent losing too much in a session and also did some 1 tabling Zoom to focus on thought process and playing to plan in simple spots.

Can't believe I won this week after my -4bi tilt session tbh! Have to give 1.5bi credit to coach as was in sweats (he runs better than me LMFAO) but also had nice +3bi on my own last night to get into the black for the week...

Spoiler:

I am only $9 down for February (zero RB) so I will now turn February into a winning month and then go on and kick the **** out of March and move up.

500 Day Challenge Total Profit = -$77.04 + $23.23 = -$53.81

Hi guys,

Just played two sessions one tabling NL10 Zoom. Trying to get thinking again at the tables - way too much auto pilot before...

Month goes positive so let's keep it this way then crush March and move the f**k up!!!!!!

Family is all out without me tomorrow so got a long session pencilled in. Will play some reg tables while I can I think...

Have a great weekend amigos!

P.S. Push ups still going strong! Video of Day 156 here!

Day 407

Played a lot of hours but at the regular tables yesterday. My table selecting skills are a bit weak and took me a long time to realise I should leave a particular table at times.

Still, nice results...

Got Wing Chun Kung Fu grading tonight and it could take 4 hours so not sure if I will even get to play. Meh, I will find some time!

Positive Mental Attitude... I will move up in March

406 days to go. No worries.

At the moment playing the regular tables is like this for me...

I go on a blind date and she brings her friend...

Blind date looks like this...

Spoiler:

And her mate looks like this...

Spoiler:

This sort of thing happened to me a few times IRL and I always ended up with...

Spoiler:

But in poker I need to get over this somehow so I will put one of these...

Spoiler:

over her head and take one for the team (so to speak)!!!!

Let's go!!!!!!!

Total Profit This Week = +$3.60

I played 4 full sessions of regular tables this week. Hate all the table selecting BS that should be highly profitable to do. I think after a long day at work I just can't be doing with it. Highly unprofessional.

Lost a few coolers at the reg tables and won a few at the fast ones - biased or what!!?

On the last day of the week I was really disappointed with my play and did a long DB review of hands and tbh I was playing terrible. I don't know whether that is because I am in the lobby hunting for good games rather than focused at the table or what.

I hit mini stop loss also and I didn't even want to play any more after my review. Never ever had that feeling for poker before...

I need to get back to playing the lines and ranges that my coach has taught me and being focused on thought process at the tables.

I will probably have a week of fast/Zoom tables and see how it goes...

Still, it was a winning week again which I will take. It just doesn't feel like one!

500 Day Challenge Total Profit = -$53.61 +$3.60 = -$50.01

Friday lost a buy-in to 2 coolers so moved made a review and moved down to NL4 Fast for the rest of the session. Nothing was going good there for a while either tbh!

Saturday played some NL4 Fast as we got a rule that after 3 losing days drop down and win a buy-in/have a winning day. Good for mindset.

Had a winning day!!!

Feel good. Will do it...

500 Days To Beat NL100 Zoom Or Quit Poker - 400 Days To Go Summary

Results For The Day

(Games played = NL4 Fast, NL10 Zoom)

First session I played in the morning so games were a bit dead but was action at NL4 Fast plus I wanted to work on something so played there for a while.

In the evening there were still only 50 players in the NL10 Fast pool so I decided to play at Stars NL10 Zoom instead.

Session was great fun as I felt in control all the time for a change! I lost 100bb KK v AA all-in pre (standard obv) but maintained good mindset throughout.

Pregame routine and mindset work is paying off maybe???

(Games played =NL10 & NL5 Fast)

Had an EV adjusted win I guess!

Lost 10 bucks KK < AK all in pre and won 5 bucks with set in 3b pot versus flopped 2nd pair WTF!?

Was just one of those sessions where my squeezes and 3b bluffs didn't get through.

Overall very happy with my play, was pretty card dead.

Got my 5th grade Wing Chun last night too and started the Fighting Programme "Anti Ground Work". My body was lolling at me a lot!!!

I think I need to win 10 bucks tonight to have positive February...

Consistent losses like you've been experiencing aren't about the big pots so stop dwelling on them and using them as excuses for losing days. You've clearly got some huge fundamental flaws in your overall gameplan that are causing you to consistently piss money away.

I don't know what you've been doing in these many hours of study you're putting in but it's obviously been ineffectual. If you just keep doing it, it will continue to be ineffectual. Imo if you want any chance of succeeding with your goals you need a total overhaul of the way you're approaching the game. It's not 2010 anymore, you can't just sit there with Equilab learning equities or whatever other dumb **** Gordon had you doing. You need a deeper understanding of the game, with the ability to know how your strategy fits into every situation you may get in to.

Harsh words I know but this thread is a trainwreck. The reality is that in five years and many thousands of hours of work you've failed to do what many people do in a matter of months with just a few dozen hours of work. You either need to sort it out properly or stop wasting your time. Positivity memes and motivational quotes are all well and good at getting you to put the work in but if you're working on the wrong stuff you aren't going to get anywhere.

Sorry mate, needed to be said.

"The regs were killing me at Party. I was 3bet bluffing a lot and not protecting my range when I face a 4bet. Basically we did not expect to see much 4bet bluffing at the micros but my database proved it was the case. My coach has taught me how and when to adjust so hopefully I will improve a lot!" - This is a real concern to me, want to give some more insight into the strategy you worked on with your coach prior to this and now?

I agree. Whoever his coach is, needs to be fired. No way after five years you should still be struggling... no actually losing at .05 or .10 NL stakes.

Checking equities with equilab is likely very much enough if its used well and if aswell understanding poker generally to be atleast winning 100nl player. You dont need PIO solver for 5nl. Pretty much agreeing OP should fire his couch, study effectively stuff like run it once, work on his ranges, likely play less tables. Its not turning around in itself and just blindly pushing "hard ****ing work". Hard work and big volume are way over valued considering poker. Playing A-game, putting in effective study and having a good couch should work decently. Even I think theres enough info to make it without any couch.

Hi guys,

Today I am determined to finish my challenge to lose 25 pounds (11.4kg).

It is 1 year and 3 days since I was 14st 7lbs (92.1kg) and set my target of 12st 10lbs (80.7kg).

I need to lose 1.5 pounds TODAY to finish this thing off. I am desperate to do it so I can move on to more strength work AND use the cardio time for something else. EDIT: After the weigh in seems I need to lose 2 pounds (0.9kg) today!!!

The Final Push - Introduction and Weigh In

You can follow updates on my Twitter and my Facebook also - I will be on until it is DONE!!!.

If you take a really hot bath and avoid carbs for the day that should get you there. Drinking minimal fluids will also help.

Is there any particular reason you have a specific target weight of 12.10 and a deadline of today? Does it really matter if you are 12.11 at the end of the day - it's still a significant reduction from 14.7.

What height are you KP?

I've actually just checked my BMI on the NHS website and at 6"0 it recommends my weight should be between 9st 10lb and 13st 3lb. The low end of that scale seems ridiculous. I'm 13st 7lb and feel as though I'm just about right in terms of weight, I don't have a belly etc.

I've actually lost half a stone without trying, I've started skipping breakfast during the week (I only had toast anyway) after reading some things about the benefits of fasting and how the body repairs itself when it isn't in the process of digesting food.
