The 3K Horse event is just what I pictured, a small field of 376 players, filled to the brim with Poker's elite players. I spent times at the table with David Chiu, Andy Bloch, the Suicide King himself Ted Forrest and last but not least a I have checked off another main event champ off my list, Joe Hachem. In the end 224 players survived day 1 and bring back an average stack of 25K, I have 44K. Also of note I have never cashed in an event with a buyin higher than 1.5K. I have also never cashed in a HORSE event. On another note money saved is money earned and since I am not playing the 1.5K PLO today I will be taking a crack at the 3K PLO Six max on Monday.

Just busted 47th in the 3K Horse. It is always quite discouraging to get so close to the money in a big money event, and bust out. However I liked my play overall in the tournament, I did make some mistakes, but I will use them as experiences for the next time.

I also got to play for a short while with another main event champ this time Johnathan Duhamel, nice guy, I also did play for the first time with Mike the Mouth Matusow, definitely an entertaining individual.

Todays 3K NLH event was a disaster for me as I busted such a good structure in the 3rd level. I did jump into a cash game afterwards and book a 809 dollar win, but overall definitely a disapointing day, I had high hopes for these last two 3K's. I still have one more 3K lined up for monday so we got that to look forward to.

Thanks brother, that is exactly what my boy Juan told me. I keep knocking on the door. Well last night I might have knocked unnecessarily. Late last night before registration closed I jumped into the 1.5K 10 game mix, I've played plenty of the limit events and know the structure is slow enough that if you jump in level 7 you can still have some play, after I sat down, I came to realize due to player demand they changed the structure and removed two levels of play from day 1 and added 2 others later in the tournament. So yep it did not go well, and it went fast, the only entertaining part was that i played with and was busted by the all time leader in bracelets(14 of em) Phil Hellmuth. That is 3 former main event champs I've played with in the last 3 days, I got to count again, but that might put me at a dozen lifetime that I've played with. Ok now the good part, well maybe not good, but since I was not budgeted for that last minute impulse of a tournament, I am mentally going to count that as one of my cash game losses since I had money aside for 4 more bullets. So I will take today off, knock down my cash bullets to 3, enjoy the day, and act like I didnt moronically jump into that tournament with 5 minutes to go in level 6. Big week coming up. Including one of two 10Ks that I will be playing. This bankroll of mine is meant to be put in play.

How do I begin, well let's begin with me getting owned by a fifty something year old female texan oil tycoon in several hands, also playing like a complete fish and busting in level 2 of the extended play, then quickly dumping 1,000 dollars in a cash game. This means i'm down to just one more cash loss and the cash games are over for the summer. Also I've come to realize since i busted out of that Horse tournament, I have been playing like total dog****. So instead of blowing my last cash bullet tomorrow, I have just arrived back from the gas station with a 12 pack of Corona, my next tournament in the 3K but that is not until 4pm on Monday. So drinks are going down Wardog Nation. Also I've decided if I don't make day 2 of the PLO8 on Thursday i will also just relax and watch some NBA Draft and get refocused before the PLO Championship on Friday. So will 48 hours away from the tables help me rekinddle the spark. I think it will.

I jumped into the 1.5K NLH figuring if I bust out before dinner I can still play the 3K PLO, only I didnt bust and am currentyy on dinner break. GET SOME

I was playing so well until I moved to a new table and then made an epic fail of a five bet shove againts the big stack. It's a shame to be honest since I had an above average stack with 450 left of the starting 1655 player field.

I dont have another early NLH start in me so I will reanalyze my position tomorrow. I will probably just play the Stud at 4pm since that will be my last chance for a limit tournament for the rest of the summer.

Just took my biggest and last cash game loss of the summer when I polished off a healthy $2,239 I then jumped into the 1.5k PLO8 tournament. I'm on a huge downswing and I can't play this 10k PLO with a fresh mind on Friday if I bust this one as well. I've survived to the dinner break so from here it gets real simple. Cash and I play the 10k PLO don't cash and its the 2.5k NLH at the M on Friday. Wish me luck in this one.

Just busted in level 8. Oh well no 10K PLO for me. I didn't expect to play/run so bad over the last 10 days. I have 20 more days till my challenge ends. I have 14 more tournaments that I want to play and currently have the bankroll for 10 of them. Lets see if I can finish strong. Today is a good day for me to make a self assessment. If I brick these next ten tournament I will give myself a triple F as a grade. As in like three times worse than failing. So it is time to put up or move on to the next journey. Either way I've given this my all so far and I hope to continue to do so in these next 10-14 tournaments.

So I have rethought this. I had a few Venetians, the 10K Bellagio, and 3 bullets of the 5K Venetian lined up after the Main Event, hence why I was 19K or so short with my current bankroll. But why? How can one get focused after busting out the Main? Also wouldn't 5K be better used in Florida in August for the 5 million guarantee? Yes it would. And why play the Bellagio 10K over the PLO 10K, when in my heart I really want to play the PLO. So I got this $28,554 right? Well lets put it in play and let's finish off with the grand-daddy of them all the Main Event.

Interesting tables today I was able to bust a hyper agressive Brian Hastings who has been on fire this summer with 2 bracelets already. Others I played with included JC Tran, John Hennigan, Isaac Baron, Noah Schwartz, Jon Turner, Dan Smith, Jeffrey Lisandro and many others. The remaining field is stacked and I got a lot of work cut out to make a deep run. I feel good though. Cards will be in the air at 2pm local time.

Just busted the PLO with 56 or less remaining in the field. I can't lie and say it doesn't hurt. But I seriously don't play to just survive, maybe with a 20 thousand dollar bubble I should regret that, but long term why am I putting up 10K just to maybe hold on and double. I play to win. Did I play great, I played pretty damn good, did I play good the last hour of my tournament, that is debatable. In the end I didn't get there. On the way out of the casino I did quickly luckbox 240 dollars on Roulette, its the first time I veered away from Poker and I wanted to blow some steam, that quick little win, and this blog has helped me do so.

So between the weak 240 dollar win, and the 1600 savings from not play the Venetian today, I doubled my worst case bankroll, how about that for a little positive spin on the situation. I got 5 more chances to make it happen including the Main Event. What was the moral that I learned by buying into only my third 10K tournament ever(2010, 2011 Main Event) I'd say it's that I can play with the best, and if this trip and goal ends with me walking away with just 3K or so, well I had no regrets. Now let's.....

Today I played extremely well in the little one drop and lost a huge 3 way all in on the flop as a big favorite that would have given me over 65k in chips 5 minutes before dinner. The hand involved Marvin Rettenmeir and the guy from Belize who made the November nine a couple of years back. The pot did not go my way and I busted shortly after dinner. I felt good and energized and sat down in a cash table with my 1500 for tomorrow's buyin.
Nothing great to report but I did win 137 dollars before calling it a night. On a side note the guy who busted me out of the PLO championship won the that tournament. Alright down to my last two tournaments.
Tomorrow is 1500 bounty. Where 850 goes in prizepool and 500 goes to each player you knock out. As opposed to the regular 1500 where 1350 goes in the prizepool.

Just busted the bounty tournament in level 8. I was off to a good start and even collected one bounty. However right before dinner I got bluffed in a huge hand. I made the wrong read and laid it down, of course the older gentlemanly showed and I never got back to tip top form for the next two hours after dinner. Ok so it's off to New York and then I will be back for the Main Event on July 7th. One more shot.

If I don't cash in the main then the challenge is totally over. I said to myself that I will only keep playing after I remove 10K from the roll after the series and there was still money left over. I've already this morning put the 3,820 to better use(life expenses) and this extra 500 I just picked up will be waking around money. So it's cash in the Main or move on time. I'll be ready come the 7th believe that.

I'm back in New York for the weekend. Yesterday before I left Vegas I wandered over to a local casino and plopped down 475 dollars that I did not want to lose at the BJ table. A super quick 675 dollar win later and being told that I couldn't play BJ there anymore I wandered over to another local casino, albeit much nicer and close to the first one. There I enjoyed two winning sessions one of 800 and another of 1100. All in all I won $2,555 dollars yesterday. I have locked up $1,655 as a win, and I will risk 900 on the BJ tables when I return to play the Main on Tuesday.

So I got two shots now a 900 dollar BJ shot, and a little tournament called the Main Event.

Day 1 of the main event went well. I finished the day with 59K. 4389 out of 6420 have made it on to day 2. Meaning average stack is about 44k or so. They are paying the top 1,000 places. A mincash would be my biggest gross score. Highlight of the day was I knocked out 6 time bracelet winner Layne Flack. Who was very awesome to talk to, hell my whole table was great to talk to. My fraternity brother also made day 2 with about 30k. We currently own 1% of each other. The farther we both go the more we swap we set up a simple but slightly complex swapping system. Other than that there are no investors for either of us we both ponied up the 10k.

I do not recognize any names at my table yet. However I will research to find out a little more about my table mates.
