Hello guys and welcome to my thread. A litlle introduction about myself. I'm a 23 years old amateur (at the moment) poker player trying to make this beatiful game a full time job . I've been introduced to the game when i was around 16, i've never took it serious but i always loved it.I've also had some addiction problems in the past with gambling, alcohol(still drinking but not as much as before lol),i've had a stretch when i've done some drugs aswell but i'm not going to snitch on myself more then that ) I've left my country when i was 20 and since then i've been in the UK and working full time.At the moment i'm working 6 days a week,8 hours a day doing something that i don't love at all and since a month ago i said to myself that i had enough and that is time for a change. So here we are..i have a bit of experince i will say with poker but i will let for you guys to decide how big of a fish i am at the moment ) Curently i'm in the deep ends of 2NL zoom, being a losing player after 35.2k hands.. but it's time for some improvement. It's time to leave the fish life behind and evolve into the shark that i know i can become
Short term goals:
-divide your time between studying and playing(i'm not doing that much studying at the moment)
-stop tilting so bad bro..why are you so mad? ) (i can say that i have a small tilt issue..ussually it happens after i take a decision that i know is not right but i still take it because big fish..combined with couple of bad beats and more poor decision and voila you have a ticking bomb that ussually goes off lol )
-post after each session you play the graph, the biggest winning hand, the biggest losing hand, and other spots where i didn't knew what to do
Long term goals:
-Improve the quality of your life
-Make enough money to go full time and move back home

I will end it here with a post of my graph at the moment because i don't wanna bore you guys with my life lol. Every opinion is welcomed on this thread so if you wanna comment on how bad my plays are please do so, so i can learn from them.Thank you for your time guys and i will see you at the next one

Hey! GL with your challenge, I started mine yesterday also at 2NL zoom. I can advise you to watch some videos about cash game basics, hand ranges and postflop play. Theres a lot of free info on youtube. You'll beat 2NL in no time!

I have couple of days off from work so i can play a little bit more.Usually i will play at least 1500 hands a day..and also i want to set a studying routine every day..divide my free time half for studying half for playing.
So these are today results. Started the session quite good,i ran hot and played well but after couple of bad decision i've tilted a bit and spewed money left and right...i had a stretch of hands where i've got 3 bet and 4 bet a lot..and also missed plenty of flops..in the end i've managed to compose myself a bit and booked a win for the day

So just finnished the session..started well..but i've messed it up..took some very poor decision(being drunk i think affected that lol) i've been lucky in some spot..been very unlucky in some other spots..played poorly and towards the end i got tilted a bit but i'm happy with it..is better then other days..so that means progress NOTE TO SELF: DO NOT PLAY DRUNK EVER AGAIN

I felt that the board texture favours my calling range better then his opening range..his turn sizing i think it would have been bigger if he had an overpair like KK,AA,diamonds missed also.. )) or is just a bad play from me? Any feedback is welcomed. Thank you

TT 4x after limp, probably raise flop I guess

55 fold pre, as played fold river

I learned that because 2NL has high rake you should 3b or fold preflop except on the big blind and very rarely on the button you can call.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAjHOXm_5IQ is pretty good I just watched this before my last session

Also never play when you've been drinking unless you absolutely don't care about the results/money

I don't know what to think about my river call..maybe it was a bad one..but to be fair it didn't make any sense the line that he tooked ..what are we actually losing to there? Q10? But again..is he aggresive enough to play Q10 like that all the way? I guess he could have played AQ suited like that..on the river i don't AK will shove..maybe as bluff? And slowed played KK or JJ again i don't think they over shove almost 2x pot to get value there..again maybe i'm being a total fish..please let me know

4 Is there any way we could avoid this? Or are we getting stacked here every time?

Think your reasoning is fine with the AQ hand, A9 and 99 could definately still be in the opps range tho and I think you actually don't want to block spades preferably so there is a higher chance he's jamming a flush draw

88 probably raise turn, river I probably fold because every time I call these overbets on the river at 2NL they have the nuts or close to it

AA 4bet pre and you might not get stacked I just always 4bet AA pre and if I would decide to call the 3bet I rather be in position than out

It does make a lot of sense to unblock spades..i see it now..and it does makes a lot of sense to call AA in position if i wanted to call..the thing is that most of the time when i 4bet pre i get folds..and i wanted to trap i guess..but it makes a lot of sense to call in IP rather then OOP Thanks for your feedback!

Sure you get quite some folds but also lets say villain has AK and the flop is like 238r he will fold a lot or fold turn where he might have gotten it in preflop. Also if villain has like JJ-KK he might fold flop/turn where he also would have gotten it in preflop or atleast call the 4bet.

I just 4b every time at 2NL as there are people who call 4bets with like A7s QJo etc, also meant to say that whenever people have JJ-KK they shutdown a lot when 1 or 2 overcards come, especially an ace

Update..played about 5.1k hands today..i think i played really solid for around 1.7k hands..then i bluffed couple of times OTR and got called..probably fishy bluffs lol..got tilted a bit..made some bad calls..it seems i can't fold my overpair when they have a set..it happened like 3 times today..and also i have no clue how to play flush draws, like i've tried calling,x/raising but today i've bled a lot of money because flush draws..overall i'm disapointed in myself..i could have done way better in many spots..i played like an idiot again..but i'm owning it..I PLAYED LIKE AN IDIOT!! AK 15bb preflop because you're oop and squeezing
A6 doubt this play is +ev in the long run but nice that it worked out this time
45 check turn fold river
QQ bad luck
JT check call flop

Quick update. I've found out that my game is trash,my ranges suck big time.I already knew that my life is mess, but is all good,i'm going to fix the both of them.I've finally done a weekly schedule so i can follow(the first one that i ever had),and i'm going to spend more time studying then playing.I've started with my ranges and is already a big difference in my game and i hope i'll learn them asap. From now one i will post weekly result every wednesday as there is no point in post them daily.I will post hands/spots where i didn't knew what to do couple of times a week, with that said, let's gooo!! Let's get it!! '#GotToHaveIt

98s fold pre, as played you can fold turn I guess
T8s fold turn, raising flop was fine too but against a pot bet calling is is fine

These spots are basic pot odds, you don't have enough odds to call for the price you're getting

To add: the turn in the 98s hand could be just a call because you barely have the odds to call if all your outs count, but as you can see in this example only 9 of your outs will win you the hand. It's not often though that you're up against a set but also against J9s you have a 9 outs. So it's probably still a fold as you need 29% to call and you have 30% against a hand like AJ or AA without a diamond.

Hello guys! So for the past week i've started working on my RFI ranges and it had a big impact on my game to be fair. I didn't played that much but i feel my game improved a bit. I only had 2 losing session compared to the past where i would have probably 2 winnings session in one week lol, one of them have been pretty terrible losing 4.5 BI in like 433 hands or something like that .I've started working on my mental game aswell whick was lacking quite a lot so i got '' The Mental game of poker" by Jared Tendler. I've started punting less, tilting is happening less aswell which is good.Still lots of work to do
May goals:
-define 3bt/4bt ranges
-improve the math side
-Study more then playing
-Play at least 25k hands
-Finnish reading ''The mental game of poker''
-move to 5nl if we play well and have 25 BI for it
