Week 14

Ended up with plans on short notice this weekend, so I'll be on vacation the next few days. For that reason I'll scrap the goals for this week and resume that next week instead. In any case, put in 23 hours or work already and with two days left on week the typical goal of 35 h shouldn't have been a problem.

Vacation went on longer than expected, and also had other things to tend to. So this week will be low volume, not worth setting goals for it IMO. I'll do it the proper way for next week though and post goals right now instead.

Week 16 | Apr 16 - 22 | Goals

Play a minimum of 3 hours cash every day. Penalty for each missed day is $10.

Study a minimum of 1 hour cash every day. Penalty for each missed day is $10.

Put in a total of 35 hours of poker, which includes the above but also tournament play and studies. Penalty for each hour below target is $10.

Clean at least 20 minutes per day. Yes, cleaning. State of the home deteriorates pretty quickly if no cleaning is done, and 20 minutes per day should be enough to keep everything nice and tidy. So let's put it here. Penalty for each missed day is $10.

Exercise 6/7 days. This includes both gym and cardio. Penalty for each missed day is $10.

Waste no more than 60 minutes time. And let's be more specific. Every minute of non-productive activity (not non-activity) counts towards this. For example, watching YouTube or browsing the internet. In other words, things that has no purpose that I could rather not do, and instead do something useful or productive (poker, exercise, cleaning, sleep). But just sitting around doesn't count, because you can't be productive always. And in my mind, it's generally more productive to just sit doing nothing at all than watching YT or something else. Even though the latter is more entertaining, it kind of keeps alive the habit of always filling every second of the day with some screen/information or other nonsense, makes you weak in some sense.

Anyhow, let's slay this week. Goals are pretty low still. Only 35 hours. Should be able to do more.

Week 16 update

Was productive this week, but set the goals in such a way that I still got punished for things like playing 9 hours in a day and then not having time for cleaning, etc. So will have to make better goals for next week.

Play and study time:



Played 3+ hours every day, none missed.

Studied 1 hour 5/7 days, thus 2 missed.

Put in 43.72 h total of 35 h required.

Exercised 6 days, none missed.

Wasted 48 minutes out of 60 allowed.

Cleaned for 20 minutes 5/7 days, 2 missed.

Total penalty is $40.

Taking a bit of a break here. Got a lot of stuff to do outside of poker so it doesn't make sense to put added pressure on with penalties right now. Still putting in decent hours. Will resume within a few weeks.
