Hi there, 2+2.
I'm a professional poker player currently playing small-midstakes NLHE. My winrate and results are decent, but a big issue for me is that I waste a whole lot of time on crap, and don't get in enough volume. To improve on this, I got the idea to create a freeroll blog.
The idea is basically: I set a weekly volume/study goal, or a weekly cap on the amount of time I can waste. I also define a penalty cost for each thing. If I fail, I lose the penalty cost and have to pay it out to you guys. Typically the first few posters after each weekly goal is announced will share the potential payout.
Rules:
1. Time wasting penalty starts at $100 per week.
2. Time wasting penalty will increase with $10 per week. ($100, $110, $120..)
3. Volume penalty will be $10 per hour under target.
4. Volume penalty will stay fixed per hour, unless I decide to change it.
5. If I fail volume due to circumstances outside of my control (severe illness, friends/family illness, etc.) then there is no penalty.
6. If I don't update within 8 days of issuing a goal, the posters who were eligible for that specific payout will share a penalty of $100.
7. If I can't update due to circumstances outside of my control (severe illness, friends/family illness, internet failure, etc.) then there is no penalty.
8. Volume will be shown with a screenshot of sessions tab.
9. Hours played sunday night / monday morning counts towards previous week's volume.
10. Time wasted will be on my own detailed count. (I'll be honest about it).
11. If I stop playing poker or take up something else full-time, this is cancelled.
I guess that should cover it. I will be more specific in the weekly posts, if needed.
Might end up posting some more stuff but that's not the intention at the moment at least. My hope is that this will help improve my efficiency and results in poker. Your hope should be that I fail miserably and have to give you money, I guess. We'll see what happens.
