Hello everyone and welcome.

The title of this thread is currently reflecting my overall situation in life, simply being nowhere. I am going to use this situation to my advantage and bring satisfaction, dedication and happiness back in to my life.

1. Who I am and where i come from

My name is Marcel and im a 28 year old german who currently lives in Prague.

After graduating from Business School in 2015 i started to work as a Real Estate Investment Consultant in Munich. Things were going well in the beginning, i liked the subjects and my projects i was working on were highly interesting.
However, the only thing that i was scared of, once i started working, turned out to become reality: I realized how much i hate working in a company.

I started to dislike everything which is correlated to the corporate environment. I hated my bosses, telling me when and what to do as well as my co-workers (who were even mostly really friendly to me but gossiping and telling lies around my back).
Despite that i gave the work my all and everything (working up to 70 hours a week) I tried to be a professional as much as i could and not being affected by the issues that i had. I also started to get health problems after a few months, including loss of hair and weight, i just felt really bad but was too scared to quit the job.

2 months ago it had to come to an end and my bosses fired me. The reasons for that were that i didnt show them any dedication to ladder up the company during the past months. It was a shock first but a great relief now.

After losing the Job i was left with around 3K € to my name and had no idea what to do. The only thing i knew was that i never want to work as an employee in a big company again.

Just a few days later of being kicked out i bought a one way ticket to morocco to visit a friend who is a surfing instructor.
Having never surfed in my life before i stayed there 4 weeks in the end, I was surfing every single day.

It was the toughest thing i have ever done in my life and my biggest accomplishment to catch 1 green wave after 3 weeks.

I also got healthier again and the trip was a cure for me. In a way it felt like that all the poison in my head was sucked out. I realized that from now on i only have to do the things that make me feel comfortable. The next step for me was to move out of germany in to another city.

Back in 2012 i was studying as an exchange student in Prague and looking back i had the best time of my life. I called a few friends and got myself a room in a nice appartment where i am currently living. I found a nice girlfriend and i am enjoying everything the city has to offer.

2. What my plans are (Life)

As mentioned before, i really liked the subject i was working in but couldnt stand working for someone else in a company. Therefore my future goal is to become a freelancer in real estate / property valuation. To do that I will need a certain license and a degree from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). This is hopefully happening next year once they will accept my application.

To fund my life in Prague i will be working as a Tourguide, where some of my friends are working. The tip-based income that people can make there is actually almost the same i was making in Germany (around 2,5K € after tax). I can choose my own schedule and dont have to pay taxes, which is pretty huge. Now the most important aspect:

I will have a lot of free time playing poker.

3. Poker History and Goals

I started playing Poker back in 2012 with the occasional homegames and live cashgames. I binked some tourneys and decided to avoid cash games and then mainly played HUSNGs and Hyper 6 max SNGs online. Unfortunately i was never able to put in the required volume and time due to my work.

Due to the fact that I always find it thrilling to come deep in a tournament (and i also would say that my style of play is fitting it more than to cash games) I will be playing mainly MTTSNGs and MTTs, starting with a 150$ Bankroll. My first goals for now are simply become a better player, study the game and eventually move up the stakes.

However, my dream would be to play the EPT in Prague one day.

I will go into more details about the games i play and my study content during the next weeks and months. I will post Handhistories as well as Brags, Beats and whatever comes to my mind to keep me motivated.

Everyone who wants to follow me is highly welcome.

Last but not least my lifetime SS Graph:

Thank you for reading!

Day 1

I started to play the 0,50 / 1,50 45s, 0,50 180s and the 1,00 90s and it went quite ok for the start. I will skip the 0,50 45s completely from tomorrow.
I also played a few 6 max 1,50s hypers.

Day 2

Nothing exciting today, i lost most of my Heads Ups in the 45s and felt i played quite bad overall.
Logged in some 6m Hypers and dropped some $ there. I guess i will solely play MTTs from now on and skip the hypers even tho i think i could build a BR faster in them because they are so soft at the micros.

Anyways its probably not a good idea to mix in different type of games and because my primary goal is to become good in MTTs i will therefore stick to them.

HI,

Try some regular speed mtt's. I find them really soft.
And those gave me big bankroll jumps.
I mix the 180s and 45s sng with some regular mtts's.
I agree those hypers are juicy but the variance of it is ridiculous.

Day 3

Managed to get four 1st places in the 45s and a 3rd place in a 1$ 180 Hyper today along with a couple of other unexciting min cashes.

I hope I can continue this well and soon mix in some 2,50$ 180s.

Bankroll: 242,14$

Gl,
Thanks for the advice. I usually mix in some 1-2 $ reg speed in the beginning and find them really soft too. Just couldnt manage to get deep in one yet :P

Almost the same started about two weeks ago with about 125.
now sitting on about 450.( positive variance)
So play anythink i think suits for my brm.
some reg speeds <4 ( sometimes 5.5 deepstack)
Turbos <2 (sometimes hot 3 an 4)
and the hypers <1
and the 180s( .05 and 2.5)

and when downswing hits i adjust and lover my average buyin

Day 4

Today was kind of swingy. I am satisfied with my overall volume but got very unlucky in a few key spots. Fortunately i could manage to turn it around at the end of the day. I also made some mistakes at the final table but hey, we have to learn from our mistakes, right?

I also have to subscribe to HRC because im really interested in a few spots and i think i can play better in certain scenarios.

Day 6

Didnt play much today but could manage to win two 45s and a 1$ reg 180 for 50$ so i ended the day up overall.

One hand i played in a scheduled tourney, what do you think of this bluff? I thought that he can not have a strong hand when checking back the flop.

nice progress.

About the hand.
- Villain is a nit( 13/11), so i expect him to raise a very strong range even when he is at the CO position.
- This flop hits almost all of his range besides the low pp and some raggy aces.
- This makes me thinks this isn't the right spot to steal the pot, because i think he will check back a lot of semi strong hands like pair + str drw.

So based of his stats i think this isn't the right spot.

Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

PS:
I think it is better to let this hand go preflop 16BB deep.
I think it is better to hold the 2.5bb and search for a nice reshove/shove spot.

Day 7 (Week 1)

Bankroll: 331,76$

Im pretty happy about my first week. I think doubling up my Bankroll is more than i could expect. Unfortunately i wasnt able to get deep into scheduled tournies but i got it in good most of the time so im still happy overall.

For the next week i have planned to review my games with HRC before every session for 1 hour. Im curious to see what kind of mistakes i have done and what kind of ranges i can apply in the future. I will also start to mix in the 3,50$ 45s as well as the 2,50$ 90 regs and some 2,50$ 180s. I will still play the 1,50$ 45s to keep my avg Buy in at around 3$.

I also have marked this hand today, which i dont know if its a good fold or if i should go with it once i call before the flop. Villain is extremely tight with 3bet pre and i dont think he would barrel AK or AQ. Of course he might have TT there but im not sure.

Thanks mate. Munich is indeed expensive and i dont like the vibe in the city that much. Its nice for food and landscape but people are snobby. I think Prague is one of the top 3 cities in Europe when it comes to price/quality of living, along with Berlin and Barcelona.

I think youre right that villain is pretty tight and i maybe shouldve just give up. I still think that peeling is fine because i guess folding too many Hands in the BB is a pretty huge leak, especially at higher stakes. At lower stakes it could be an argument that people dont exploit at all tho.

Yes totally agree about the defending. But i dont like peeling with a stack size below 20BB but thats my personal opinion. Because calling the raise and further Cbet makes you pot commited. So below 20bb search for a good reshove spot or shove spot.

Nice volume and progress in a week.
About the JJ hand, Well this looks very close. I am tempted to call at least another barrel but a fold can't be that bad.

Day 8

I made a short trip to Germany today so my overall volume was kind of poor. Beside that i final tabled almost every of my games but ran into QQ+ in nearly every of them in the end which was a bit disappointing.

Along with a few PLO hands i still ended the day up so everythings fine.
