Hey there folks. Good to be back in the fray, even just posting on this site alone. I live in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. Word on the street is that there should be some interwebs gambling available in the coming months. I'm not sure about anyone else in PA, but I'm here to MAKE SOME CASH.

Little background - I was a smallstakes reggie in 2010 and 11. I think I became good at the 180 person size MTT's on Full Tilt. I was about to seek out coaching to try and find some leaks, next thing I know the whole darn ship sinks and the FBI is slanging on some domains.

So in 2012 I joined a community college to get back into some semblance of professionalism. I failed English 101 twice, but overall I made some friends! Yes, I eventually passed, and I haven't spoken to those friends in years!

Now I majestically find myself working in finance, and counting down the days to really go for it. I'm thinking PS will launch sooner rather than later, and I plan on buying a desktop and setting up shop. I get paid this week and have also decided to set money aside for a training course. I'm either going with RIO, Upswing, or Rosetta Stone (they have Suahili!). Feel free to leave a recommendation.

Let's do it for the Keystone (Light) State! Home of Ben Franklin, The Liberty Bell Crack, and Virtuosity's journey to $10 MTT supremacy!

Next update I'll detail the course I buy, give a bad beat story, let you know whether I prefer IPAs, Lagers, or Wine spritzers, and also my favorite vacation destination. Let's F'in Go Boys!

Well, well, well. What do we have here?

Link - https://www.pokernews.com/news/2019/...oker-33943.htm

I must say, after checking PokerNews and other outlets voraciously over the last 7 months since I made this thread, April 19th was as much a relief for my nearly automated google search of "Pennsylvania Online Poker" as it was simply the day before April 20th.

Anyhow...ladies and gentlemen!....it's really happening. Now I'm not sure about the development of the interstate pools; I am seeing that updates concerning that very important matter will not be expected until closer to mid June. However, I'm now able to start actually investing in the cool things like the setup and training courses.

The Near-term plan - Evaluate Run it Once vs. Raise your edge from a cost-benefit analysis perspective. Finish Applications of No Limit Hold 'Em by Janda and read his second book. Buy the desktop setup of my choosing. Land the job I applied at in Philadelphia (One time! on this one). Move to Philly. Grind tournaments on weekends and continue to play Parx/Sugarhouse/Borgata events.

Bad Beat Story (!) *As promised

Average stack was around 200k at opening of Day II of Parx Poker Open $300 event. Nearing bubble. OTB w/ ~265k stack, blinds 4/8k. Not gonna drag this out, I raise + call off a small blind (~220k) shove w/ two red queens. Small blind shows up with two black jacks. Flop is triple brick city but ALL HEARTS.

River - Dat jack of Diamontes

Favorite Beer *Also as promised - I'm actually not sure between Dogfish 60 minute and Victory Headwaters. I'll go with Victory.

Poker near term - Once setup is....set...up....and I've selected between Run it Once and Raise Your Edge, Deposit $600 as the starting bankroll and start grinding $4 + $5 MTTs.

*Any recommendations on tracking software?*

Happy Easter to those who celebrate it and pray for the people of Sri Lanka.

Back from the one bullet shot at the Parx $300 two weeks ago. As usual it was a fun tournament. Just was not able to run well in key spots. There are a couple key hands.

Early - Blinds were something like 50/100 with 100 BB ante
tight player UTG (~15K effective) raises to 300
Multiple calls
We look to down at 10-7hh in the BB and call

Flop Q J 7 w/ 2 hearts.
Check, initial raiser bets ~1.2k
one call, back to us
we put in the raise to 4k and call off the remaining 6k he shoves and do not connect vs. AA (no heart)

In terms of results (getting it in against AA) it is ok, and from what I ran in equitylab it's okay against top of his range as well QQ/JJ/etc.

We are thinly repping QJ and 77 combos as we 3b QQ+JJ pre (I guess we would do this with all two pairs) but with that much equity I'm ok with it.

Second Key hand - funny hand - I built back up from 15k after that hand with 107hh to something like 55k. I call EP open in MP with 55. Flop was 3 5 7 with two clubs. EP raiser check calls my bet.

Turn offsuit 10

He check calls .75 PSB

River offsuit Queen
He checks, I jam for 1.5x pot.... he tank calls it off with AJ offsuit
at least he did not have a club blocker

Anyways after that I was at like 115K and it was only 2 PM, which probably meant I was a top 10 stack in the room. (tourney started at 10 AM w/ 30k starting stack)

Right before the next break there is a short stack shove (any two cards, the gentleman was on his last leg), AC cash game pro reshoves in MP for like 55k, I have AKo on the BTN and reshove.

I lose vs. pocket 44 and 56offsuit. Down to 55k or so.

Final hand - annoying spot

Blinds 300/600 I raise to 1300 in the CO w/ AQo.
BB (covers us, middle aged active player) raises to 6k.
I have 40k to start the hand and just call. seems too loose to 4b and have to fold, didn't think a 4b would get him to fold much unless it was a jam and I was too deep for that.

Flop 10 7 3 rainbow. He bets 4k into ~13k

I call
planning to be able to fold out his overcards on brick turns, backdoor straight, two overs, etc. + price too good.

Turn Q hearts, putting two hearts out. He checks.

I do not have the ace of hearts.
I bet 10.5k, leaving myself 20k to jam river.
He c/r all in, we call, he has trip 10's GG

Anyways I'm sure that last hand could be deserving of some amount of scrutiny but I think if I take his overpairs out of the equation as I don't see him checking the turn with them too much, nor taking that sizing on the flop, then it becomes less of an annoying spot. I think I just would rather have 4b/called preflop vs. this player type as he was raising preflop at a high clip.

I apologize for the s***post here. Online returns in 60 days and I'm also moving around that time window and am shopping desk/chair/desktop setups! Very excited to get a DX racer chair and a spacious desk for the larger apartment. Will post some setup pics then. Hope to see you PA players online soon!
