Was hoping to stream again tonight but can't seem to be able to get connected to Bovada. I know the sports book was having issues bc of the heavy traffic with people betting on the Mayweather fight but I didn't think that would affect the poker site.

Congrats on your past accomplishments and good luck with this year's goals.

I'm looking to earn some extra $$ as part of a debt snowball plan. Generally, what are your pre-game and post-game rituals?

Example: 1) Watch HI hand replayer of last session, 2) watch training videos before playing, and 3) read poker literature before playing. Have a 4:1 ratio of playing to training/study?

Finished down about $200 yesterday over the course of two rather short sessions. Was super tired last night so didn't play late at all. Will see how I feel tonight.

Thanks.

Debt snowball -- sounds like you've been listening to Dave Ramsey. Good stuff. Poker can definitely help you with that as long as you don't cash out too much of your roll that leaves you vulnerable in a downswing. I had to explain and re-explain that to my wife numerous times over the course of the last couple years as we paid off debt. It's very tempting to see say... 7k in your poker account and want to pay off your 7k debt. But cashing out nearly almost all your bankroll or definitely all of it will just cut off that revenue stream. So I always only cashout an amount that will keep me at 20 BI's for 1/2 which is 4k. If I had cashed out my 4k bankroll back in January then I wouldn't have had a roll to make $15k over the next 3 months like I did (and still have that 4k roll on top of it). That's the way I explained it to my wife.

My pregame ritual is to review any hands that I wrote down from the previous session, assuming it has been 24 hours since I played them and the holecards are posted. I don't do much beyond that as far as prepping. If i'm in a downswing then I might be inclined to watch some training videos instead of playing that night to ensure my focus is right and to give myself a break.

During the session, I write down every big hand that doesn't go to showdown, whether I win the pot or not, and try to analyze the hand (i.e. talk about my thought process of why I played the hand the way I did, any reads/history of the player, the range of what I thought the player had, etc.).

After the session, I might post in here what my results were but mainly I try to get my mind on something else as quickly as possible to give myself rest. This is especially critical after a down session otherwise I punish myself mentally. Then I wait until the next day or sometimes two to go back and review my big hands again with a fresh mind (devoid of any emotion that might cloud my judgment) so I can be objective about how I played a hand and make any necessary adjustments going forward.

Hope that helps.

So you cash out about $4k a month, so do you count the fees in your "results"(and isn't $3k free once per month)?

Which replayer do you use? I am a Bovada weekend grinder and am somewhat happy with Online Poker Manager (donation req'd) but it doesn't show how many people were in the tournament or payouts or anything like that.

Most months I try to time it where I only cashout 3k per calendar month to avoid fees. But the last month I did do two 3k cashouts in the same month and paid the $50 fee for the second check. It is true that wasn't reflected in the HM1 results but it is pretty negligible compared to the overall winnings so far this year ~$15k.

It's been a bit of a grind getting used to the new schedule. Super tired after working all day and then trying to get my 4 year old to bed. Then all I feel like doing is just watching the NBA playoffs and going to bed. I've managed to squeeze at least a small session in each night but haven't been nearly as focused due to the tiredness and have just been pretty much breaking even.

If I stream this week it will either be later tonight, Thursday and/or Friday.

Have you thought about dropping down to 2 tables until you get used to the new schedule? It would lower your volume, but it might help you focus a bit better until you're settled into the schedule.

I have actually only been able to get about 2 to 3 tables going bc there seem to not be as many good tables earlier in the night and bc I have been playing much shorter sessions. So I have been doing that though unintentionally. Think it's probably a good idea.

Last night I fell asleep in the middle of one of the nba games.

Been super busy with work, watching nba playoffs, playing and coaching so took a little unplanned break from 2+2 and twitch. Will try to post some more detailed updates soon.

My brother and I are planning a Guys' trip to San Diego to surprise my dad for his bday/retirement celebration. We planned a similar trip to Chicago a few years ago on Father's Day and had a blast.

The last time I've been to San Diego was 20 years ago. From what I recall the interesting things we did were San Diego Zoo, Mission Beach, and La Jolla Cove. Don't remember anything else though. If you have any recommendations for sites and bites, lemme know.

Finished up $300 tonight. So good start to the month of June so far. Won most of it b/c a guy slow played AA pf by just flatting my 3bet with KQ. Flop came out KQ9hhx and we got it in.
