Unconventional Journey Through The Micros! Unconventional Journey Through The Micros!

GOAL: Claw my way through the micros by any means necessary!

Background:
I played poker when I was a kid with my dad and his friends at their home games every now and then. From the first time I played I LOVED the game. I didn't play often in those years. I played online for a few months before black Friday hit with marginal success. I played here and there at a local casino hitting a few good runs, and a few donkey bust outs. In hindsight, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. FFS I used to think the more people in the pot the better when I had pocket aces! All I knew was I loved this game.

I have fairly recently started to pick up this game again. I have been playing for a little less than 2 years now. I read my first book (Brunsons Super System) about a year ago, and it helped me more than I can even explain. That book changed my game drastically. I saw that I was playing totally wrong, and had zero grasp of the basic fundamentals of the game. I took to my new knowledge fairly quickly and got ABC poker down pretty pat. I was a small winner at low stakes live, but couldn't manage to get anywhere online. I also failed to stick to any type of BRM. I had some big wins that I took to bigger games and also spent everything I won. I always ended up back at square one despite the fact that I won more than enough to have a good starting bankroll at the low limits. I greatly underestimated to importance of BRM and the impact variance can have!

The past 3 months I have quit playing live and decided to focus more online. I did this to get more hands in, and gain experience much more quickly. I started with $80 and played 5NL. I doubled that up playing a ABC game with the help of a nice little heater in a couple weeks.

One night I was thinking of making a drastic change to my game. I thought about the type of player that I HATED playing against..... The GOOD LAG. I wanted to be that player, the one that keeps the pressure on, the one that you never know what they have, the one that can have the nuts on ANY board, or have complete air with a pot sized river bet. I played with that style a few times in the past, and it did not end well...... I think it is the hardest style to play well. Now, I have thousands of hand more experience and feel that I can now purse that style of play.

With my new decent bankroll I began playing a very unconventional game. I am super aggressive in pretty much all positions. I put villians in tough spots with constant pressure. I re-raise with air OOP. I raise and re-raise OOP with crap cards. I steal steal steal. If I catch even a whiff of weakness I pounce regardless of my holdings. I donk bet into the PFR on soaking wet boards. I do all kinds a things every book, and you tube vid Ive consumed tell you not to do! I am not doing this blindly though. I pay attention to the players. I watch their show down cards. I watch their bet sizing on various boards. I pay attention to how they play their draws, and marginal hands. What I think is also very important is I pay attention to how I think they perceive me and my range in any given situation, and play that to my advantage.

I am not here to brag, or claim I am now a pro killing the game. Quite to opposite actually. I know I am a fresh amateur at this game. I have lots to learn, and that is what I am here for. I am looking for insight to improve, as I know I have tons of room to do so. Not to be an ass, but I not looking for ABC type of insight. I am looking for insight from people that are playing unconventional LAG type games successfully. I am completely open to criticism. I welcome it! Give it to me! That is what I am here for.

I am now playing 10NL 6 max. I have only recently started tracking my stats. What I have posted below is not all of my play since I started this new journey. I also play quite a bit on my phone with just as good, and probably better results since I only have one table that gets my full attention.

I thank you all in advance for any advice you have to offer. I hope this is the start of me viciously clawing my through the micros!
