I'm a former small-mid stakes full ring cash game pro who got pushed out of the game by Black Friday.

I've always had some trouble putting in volume. If there's one thing that I regret about my years of playing for a living, it's that I didn't get SNE every single year because there was no excuse not to. I took lots of pride in my winrate and my balance of study : play was way out of whack and probably around 85:15 or worse.

During these years I was pretty good friends with WCG and always admired his work ethic. I asked him many many times what his secret was to playing so much and every single time without fail he said "I sit and play until I can't". In 2012 I was out of poker but he randomly reached out to me and asked me if I wanted a stake and I took it because why not. I wasn't playing too much and he showed me the following video to get me to play more:

At the time I just didn't have it in me to play much and win because I feel like I'm very ADD as I have a hard time playing > 1.5 hour sessions since I tilt soon after that and tend to quit for the day after my session's over. He dropped me soon after and I deserved the cut. It's a great video and it rings true. I just didn't want it bad enough. Now I have a purpose and more motivation to grind which I'll get into in future posts. It's time to man up, crush life, and poker.

That's enough typing for now. I'll update this in a couple of days. I just wanted to start this to hold myself accountable for playing a bunch.

My short term goal: 24 hours of play by the end of January 12th.
My medium term goal: 60 hours of play by end of January 20th.
My long term goal: 225 hours of play by end of February 20th.

I don't have a monetary goal. If I play, the money will come. I'll be playing $100 Zone and a couple of tables of either $25 or $50plo.

Well I've been turning up the volume!!! It's been 6 days and here are the results:

Apparently this is going to be some work. It's nice that I won some money but hours > money at this point. That's just $100nl but I've also played 1.25 hours at $25nl and made $43 but I'm not counting that limit as time played since that's a bitch move.

So at the very least, I'm going to fail on my short term goal. I'm probably going to fail my medium term goal as well because I'm moving on 1/12 and won't have internet for poker until the evening of 1/13 but I'm going to strive to make it. It's only 6 hours/day

As my title implies, I don't want to end up busto and as I just mentioned, I'm moving in a couple of days. I'm going to be playing for a living again. I've pretty much been forced into doing so. It's not something I want to do. I realize how dumb it is. I have no backup plan. I'd think that I could play many many hours being so far behind the proverbial 8-ball and we will see. I'm unsure how personal I want to get itt so I'll leave it at that for now but I may expand on my situation and circumstances that led me to doing this in the future.

With all of my moving expenses, I had to spend most of my bankroll. I spent a touch over $7k to do so.

Next time I need to withdraw from bankroll: 2/25
Bankroll atm: $4,946

Just for some poker if anybody wants to give feedback:

Button (Hero) ( $100.00 USD )
Small Blind ( $132.23 USD )

Big Blind ( $118.42 USD )
UTG ( $147.68 USD )
MP ( $441.70 USD )
Cutoff ( $100.00 USD )
Player2 posts small blind [$0.50 USD].
Player3 posts big blind [$1.00 USD].
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to Hero [ A K ]
UTG folds
MP folds
Cutoff folds
Hero raises [$3.00 USD]
Small Blind raises [$9.50 USD]
Big Blind folds
Hero raises [$23.50 USD]
Small Blind calls [$16.50 USD]
** Dealing Flop ** [ 2, 2, Q ]
Small Blind checks
Hero checks
** Dealing Turn ** [ J ]
Small Blind bets [$30.12 USD]

I feel like people have a lot of AQ here followed by some KQ, QJ, and maybe even some flushes like 9dTd type hands. I'm unsure if I should call or shove. I rep **** by shoving but the pot is so big that maybe I want to give myself a chance to win the pot instead of just calling? If I call, I have to hit to win and then concede a 107bb pot if I miss.
