Hey PG&C,
hope you all had a great start to 2016. This year will be very interesting for me both in my private life and as a poker player. I am graduating from Uni in August and will eventually have to decide whether to get a real job or try and make it as a pro.
I am doing this thread for several reasons:
1) Motivate myself to grind a lot and get better
2) I dont want a ****ing real job
3) Keep track of my results and help decide if going pro is worth it
So who am I???
I am 26 years old and have been playing poker since 2006. I started with micro SNGs and eventually made it to the higher stakes MTTs. I also play a lot of NL 6max mainly zoom on stars. I never played full time, mainly because I was busy doing stuff for school. However I would consider myself a semi-pro for the last 3 years or so.
I am finishing Uni in August and all thats left in order to graduate is to finish writing my master's thesis. While doing that for the next 8 months I will have plenty of time to grind.
As the title of this thread anounces I will try and make
$100k profit after rakeback combining both my MTT and cash game earnings. I managed to go well beyond that target last year so I am hoping to make it happen again in 2016. As profit counts everything that I win online or in a live tournament or cash game. When I decide to sell action the winnings/loss will still count for the challenge. I will use sharkscope to track my MTT results and HEM2 for cash games.
Goals for 2016:
[ ] play at least 4 live tournaments with a buy in of 1k or higher
[ ] play at least 2 EPT main events
[ ] 100k profit
[ ] win a COOP title (obv very likely)
[ ] quit smoking
the order of the goals above represents the likelyhood of me achieving the goal. Me quitting smoking seems to be the least likely one atm.
