Thanks for the input! After reviewing my hands from yesterday I feel the same. Think I was a little burnt out yesterday and chasing pots way to often. I'm going to some street by street analysis now and try and solve some of these leaks, then might put in a session.
Started off yesterdays session again playing to agressive postflop and putting to much in with TPs. After about 800 hands I looked at my postflop stats and immediately sat out. Took about 15 minute break re-evaluating my play and understanding my incorrect lines easily. Got back on for a 2nd session and played true A game for about 800 hands before deciding to call it a night and get some R&R. I'm going to post results ever 3-4 days moving forward as posting daily is a leak that makes me mentally to involved with results and causes me to play too impatiently. Next results will be posted after saturday or sunday.
I have got a lot of volume in this weekend, yesterday about 5,000 hands @.1/.2. After reviewing my game and thinking things through I have decided to get a little more aggressive with my strategy and will begin playing $.2/.5. The $50 BR is obviously not a life roll so I can always reload if need be and I am OK with that' plus I will process bonus' quicker and see a little rake back at this limit. I will still not move up to $.10/.25 until $250. Going to start today, wish me luck.
Had the day off work today due to Blizzard so I was already able to put in about 2,500 hands. Had some coolers at ill moments KK<AA on for 120bbs, then got KK in again after flopping trips for 150bbs and he hit flush on turn and blank on river.

This hand was able to turn the session into a profit which I am very happy with. Going to take a break and get back on after dinner. T Minus 3 days til I am shipped off to China for 2 weeks and wont be able to play
All things consider I think I handle the variance pretty well and results could have been much worse. Tomorrow will be another day and things are due to swing in my favor.
Did some hand reviews and watch some Twitch streams of cash game players last night. after reviewing hand the past few days, I have found many leaks in my game that need a plug. glad I found these as they for sure have cost me. Going to fire up a session now and hopefully grind out some nice volume through the night.
Last day grind before I left was fairly short as I was packing and preparing for the trip. So far China has been great. I visited the Great Wall, birds nest and swimming center (2008 Olympics), The Forbidden City, and a shopping/food market in Beijing. I'm now in Tianjin working until Saturday, then will fly to Shanghai to do a few supplier site visits and negotiations then back to the states next tuesday. For those that don't know the food in China is fantastic! I am looking forward to getting back to the grind upon my return next week. Also will try and load some Photos from my trip.
Been a good trip but too long. Basically been working like 18 hours a day between Tianjin facility during day and covering my US responsibilities at night in the hotel. I arrived in Shanghai today and had one supplier pick me up and do site visit and Lunch. Have Dinner with one of my CM's tonight and a visit tomorrow and then done for the trip. Will tour Shanghai on Monday and back to US on Tuesday. On the flight today I did a little study and read a little on 2p2, ready to get back into stride on Wednesday! Will post overall update wednesday.
Update - I got back from China last night around 7 and I decided to just play 1 $5 MTT, since was tired as I had been up for about 24 hours. Well I ran deep in the tourney for a $40 win. After the tourney my tired & delusional mind just decided to put that $40 into a $.5/$1 cash game, lol. Luckily I Ran good and then hit on monster pot that really boosts my roll.
Goals for the next 7 days: 1) Getting back to my BRM plan and proper updates 2) 8 hours of Hand review and study 3) 20K hands
Today I am going to play live game with a bankroll outside this challenge. and have dinner with my Fiance so wont be getting to much volume if any in.
Got some games in today. Played 2 sessions, 1st session I had a few coolers but other than that I am ok with how I played and rate my play as B game. 2nd session I am not happy with how I played, feeling really tired (Jet Lag) and feel I was just clicking buttons so cut it shorter than planned, rating this session as D game. Nuff said here are results:
Session 1:
Session 2:
I received $17 in bonuses today so not a complete lost of a day. I am going to add playing a few MTTs to this challenge since I do enjoy mixing it up and feel I am profitable in them. Basically will play an MTT instead of cash when I feel like today (not playing/feeling good). Since when I am tired or sick I do not do well concentrating on multiple tables, so will just focus on 1 or two MTTs. Total day MTT buy-in amount will be limited to around 1 buy-in of the cash game limit I am at.
Rough day, couldn't seem to get any thing going. Felt every time I started getting momentum I got hit by a cooler for twice as much right after. Ran KK into aces twice and QQ into AA after dry flop. Rate my play as a C- due to fact that I had a few tilt plays and one horrible stack off.
Hit my stop loss of 5 buy-ins. So going to play a free roll and a $7 MTT and do a lot of review on my hands for the rest of the night. Could use hitting one of the MTTs or will be moving back down limits tomorrow.
I will post a few hands when reviewing for some advice.
Life is like a book, each day has a new page, with adventures to tell, lessons to learn and tales on good deed to remember.
Preflop: Hero is SB with K A
UTG raises to $0.40, MP calls $0.40, CO folds, BTN calls $0.40, Hero raises to $1.30, BB folds, UTG calls $0.90, MP raises to $8 and is all-in, BTN folds, Hero raises to $10 and is all-in, UTG calls $8.70
Flop: ($28.50) 2 Q T (3 players, 2 are all-in) Turn: ($28.50) 8 (3 players, 2 are all-in) River: ($28.50) 9 (3 players, 2 are all-in)
Spoiler:
Results: $28.50 pot ($1.42 rake)
Final Board: 2 Q T 8 9
Hero showed K A and lost (-$10 net)
UTG showed A Q and won $27.08 ($17.08 net)
MP showed 4 5 and lost (-$8 net)
After review I am reconsidering my play rating as I have come across lots of bad lines and a few costly calls that should have been avoided. Rating my play as D game. Need to pay closer attention and not make these plays that add up to substantial # of blinds lost.
Side note I am still hanging in the $7 MTT and have collected two KOs @ $2 each, currently 25/91/279.
Out in 26th of 279 with a good amount of KO's, I also was able to make a little playing LLHUSNG during the tourney. Ended in the green on the day and will continue at same limit tomorrow.
BR:
Going to focus on the spewy leaks I have found today, probably lower table amount to 6-9 (have been 12 tabling) to focus on better quality. Think I should work more on the quality of my game before reaching for large volume goals.
Thanks for the comment. Didnt quite decide to skip .2/.5 but had the bankroll to go to .05/.1. I agree I should crush .02/.05 first but think Im going to continue the path I have begun and work at .05/.1, if I fail the 5 buyin shot then I will move down to .02/.05, which is no biggie. I am kinda writing my own path compared to most other PG&Cs. I feel I have alot of strength and success in MTTs but when it comes to cash games I tend to struggle on disciplined folds. So most players will only play 1 or the other game type or play cash to lower variance on MTTs. While me playing MTTs I think will assist moving up cash stakes quickly, thus I need to work hard on studying and improving my cash game skills.
Tonight I went to dinner and watched a movie so was off to a late start. Started off playing an $8k GTD MTT, was still feeling jet lag and not in the mood to multi table cash games. Need to suck it up and will probably play a short session after the tourney. Tourney is going good, ITM currently 46/93/577 with $1.77K up top.
Slowing down:
Had another red day last night and ended with BR at $204. Goinf to slo things down and work more on my game, going to play just 4 tables for a few thousand hands until I feel good on all lines then will slowly increase them. Also going to play shorter sessions and break them up instead of just 1 4 hour session I will try 4 1 hour or 2 two hour sessions.
Here is first session today, 2/21 A
BR:
Going to Gym for a bit then going to play another session before Bulls game. Check ya later...
How's your HUD set up? I found that putting up more information makes a ton of difference, at least after you spend some time playing less tables and really force yourself to USE that information as well.
Basic hud only helps forming basic lines, but you can get a lot more out of it. For example, nit player might be only opening with 1% of hands early, but stealing a lot at late position -> you CAN resteal, even if he seems nitty.
Thanks for the insight. I think I have a pretty good HUD setup and understanding how to use these stats to my advantage but could always use learning and adding any recommend stats. One main issue is I definitely haven't been using HUD fully to my advantage when I go over 6 tables and barely when 12+ tabling. Here's my current setup:
Any recommendation for stats to I should consider adding?
Think I played a solid B game, had only 1 hand that I noted was not good. other than that maybe a little bit to tight post flop. I am starting up today's session and will add a few small MTTs later.
Done with first session today. Played an hour and half, and I can proudly rate my play as A game. Wasn't running very good as you can see my blue and orange line.
Going to relax for an hour then do about 45 mins of review and get back at it.
