Mohegan Sun runs literally no mixed games. I could play them at Foxwoods but I’m sure I’m a dog in 20/04 limit Holdem given my limited limit experienced. Mixed is a different story, but the smaller mixed in the area is 75/150 :/

Dude thank you! The action at Hollywood Park is unreal compared to Commerce so far. And the Bike is good too, I'll have to play it more to see if it plays bigger. I'm definitely going to start rotating which casinos I play at now. Throw Hustler and Gardens into the mix. Maybe I'll run into you in Vegas over the summer? I owe you a drink or a meal for putting me onto HPC. I'm an idiot for not venturing out of my comfort zone sooner. Good luck!

Los Angeles Day Three (The Bicycle)

Day three started off quite beachy, hitting Venice Beach. Walking past the sidewalk shops, little stores and mini pop up food stores was sweet. Did a bunch of walking and then hit the road around 3:00pm.

Next up was Santa Monica. We did a lot of the same things. Watched a grey magic show in the pier, and hit the old school arcade as well as do some sight seeing around the town as well. Was great.

Finally, it was time to hit the Bike! Was a great venue and can’t complain about anything. Got in an insane game. Had Bart Hanson on my left, and a table full of fun players. I was talking it up a lot with one guy who was reminiscing about the time he called an Uber in Dubai and got picked up by a Ferrari. Yup.

We are playing 5/5/T (mandatory straddle) when we open ATravelling & The Live Midstakes KTravelling & The Live Midstakes from UTG to 45. Only our fun villain calls and right before the flop comes out he warns me:

“If you don’t hit, don’t bet”

“You got it, I miss, I check”

We see a flop of KTravelling & The Live Midstakes7Travelling & The Live Midstakes2Travelling & The Live Midstakes and I decide to check. He just rips in 580 into 100 and we call. The board bricks out and we hold against the naked flush draw.

The next interesting hand involves the same villain, when we open KTravelling & The Live MidstakesKTravelling & The Live Midstakes from UTG to 49, and get 3 callers in the field including villain above.

The flop comes QTravelling & The Live Midstakes5Travelling & The Live Midstakes6Travelling & The Live Midstakes and we lead for 110. Only villain from hand one calls, and we see the 6Travelling & The Live Midstakes on the turn. We check, and he checks back. The river is the 9Travelling & The Live Midstakes and we go small for value, 200. He snaps it off with 7Travelling & The Live Midstakes8Travelling & The Live Midstakes and takes it down.

Los Angeles Day Four (Bike/Hollywood Park)

Our final day in paradise was going to be one in another universe: Universal Studios. Had to do one of the most touristy things possible by visiting the renowned theme park.

It was all one could ever hope for and more. I’ll leave you with the pics below.

As for Poker, hit the Bike and managed to give back all of our previous days profits and more. The hand of the night came when we got it in ore vs a spaz for 100BB with AA, and are shown his KK on a 528KJ runout. NH. Misplayed QQ in a 4 bet pot which cost me some money, and overall just played poorly. Leaving CA with a sour taste in my mouth like we left a lot on the table. Live and learn.

Before the flight, there was time to hit HPC for some 2/3/5 Big O action. Played for 90 minutes and won a whopping $40 of my money back.

10/10 trip

Got you -

Played two (somewhat) interesting hands.

First up, we look down at AAQ48 and open to 15 from MP. HJ, BTN, SB, BB call and we go 5 way to a flop of 769. SB leads for 30, BB raises to 105 and w whist muck.

They end up GII three ways: set + low draw vs straight vs low draw +flush draw.

Next up, two limps and we raise AQQ37 to 20 from the SB. Both limpers call (HJ, BTN) and we see a flop of 28T. Decide to continue with overpair + nut low draw. We wager 50, MP folds and BTN calls. The turn is the 8. We check, BTN checks. River is the Q and we lead 150. Not sure I love river as I’m not sure how we can possibly call a big bet as played. Probably should bet smaller.

Wish I logged some more hours in these games, that’s for sure

Fold pre H1.

H2 plays better as a complete than a raise. As played you're better off cr/fold than leading out. Guys love limping ****ty lows and pps including 8x.

H1: Got it - I guess the non-nuttyness of the low trumps the high strength?

H2: damn, that seems super tight. What hands would you raise here out of the SB?

H2 top set and nut low wrap with 2 backdoor flush draws only!

Well, generally you only want to play hands that can scoop. As with other games it's standard to open up more the closer you are to the button. I don't see a point in opening wider hands in order to not be seen as face up- in this game I don't think people care/ want to fold anyways.

H2 you're certainly an equity favorite against typical garbage limping hands but you're out of position with a mediocre hand, in a game where equities run close that's also pot limit. Whatever edge you think you have in raising pre is easily wiped out with potential mistakes most people make post. Your low draw sucks, and baring flopping quads or a flush, the odds are when the money goes in your going be free rolled.

H1 is just trash. Most people get all excited when they see AA, but especially as unconnected as this it's simply not playable imo. It would be like raising 95s utg in nl.

Yeah I used to play some Big O back in the day. It was limit back when I played. Totally different game and you'd have to narrow ranges for pot limit. I hit a jackpot in Big-O at Chumash Casino back in 2006. Had to have quad kings beat and I had quad aces beat by the steel wheel bicycle straight flush. Was a small jackpot though I think I only won around $1200 for the losing hand. Definitely people chased the low wayyyy too much. You do have to play for scoops.

Looking forward to it, they're much more interesting than nl hands that's for sure.

The importance of pre flop selection and making "tight" folds post is paramount in this game. You'll be just fine if you can follow that and have a good understanding where the money is made in split pot games.

Interesting. Never heard of him, but I’ll look into it.

Have had the IG for a decent amount of time.

I mean I’ve heard of Neeme, but who hasn’t, lol.

Good call - thanks for showing me this. Not sure what I can really do at this point, especially seeing as I’ve had the IG account for almost a year now.

hehe, I think he only recently created the IG account to keep his personal IG more personal so you got him there. I have no idea when he created his merch store (he has only been vlogging about a year in total I think) or started naming and making his vlog intros that way (like the walking dead). I don't see any harm in similar IG names personally since it is a common poker phrase but if you plan to go the merch way to monetize your vlog, if it gains traction, at least you know now.

looking forward to your future vlogs

Edit: I am guessing he also had no idea you had a similar IG name or blog site

Thanks for the heads up - much appreciated. Have zero plans of going the mercy route. I remember Jason Somerville in his prime saying he was basically breaking even while putting in a decent amount of time effort into his apparel.

Much appreciated. Just enjoying editing for now, and hoping to build a skill that I can hold on to long after Poker is gone! Please tell me anything you dislike. Just looking to improve from super novice level
